The call to action Twitter is experiencing what may be the most visible transition any organization can undertake. There is uncertainty, lightening paced change, and in parallel, an unprecedented opportunity to change the way the world communicates. What does a change in leadership mean for the work experience and how REW delivers on its mission? Honestly, we don’t know. However, we do know how to help REW move forward with its call to action, even in the face of ambiguity. Doing so requires an agile program process that can anticipate change, respond with speed, and iterate. In the pages that follow we present a collection of activities and tools that can help do exactly that.

Developing and evaluating the workplace experience journey visioning current data gap analysis
tech audit
data feedback loop kick-off
benchmarking
perimeter scan
Phase 1
performance scorecard & high impact low cost analysis
scenario modelling
field implementation
Phase 2
potential data capture activities
Phase 3
change management Spark Brilliance.
Phase 1: Defining current, future, and baseline experiences for Tweeps The objective of this phase is to gather a notional understanding and create a baseline of the desired workplace experience at Twitter. Conducting a parameter scan and using our benchmarking we can compare attributes, typologies, and protocols against other best in class organizations. We can provide insight to possible improvements or shifts to better align with the leadership vision.
Visioning (if needed or appropriate)
Perimeter scan
Considering the significant change occurring at Twitter, we propose to facilitate more of a “scenario” approach session where multiple scenarios and simulations are presented, and responses are discussed and examined (more of a “war games” approach). This type of session will enable us to better future proof a workflow process that anticipates ambiguity and rapid change around the Twitter work experience.
We perform a scan of multiple market sectors and disciplines to identify emerging trends and anomalies that may have implications on how the work environment is used in the future.
Technology audit Working with your internal technology team and specialist technology consultants (if required), Unispace will perform a gap analysis of your organization’s current technology capability and what is required to support new potential work models under consideration.
Current data gap analysis
Benchmarking Evaluate your workplace and programming metrics to other companies to develop a workplace strategy aligned with business objectives, organizational culture, and workstyles (see Phase 3 for more details).
We will issue and ROI so we review any data and/or metrics from legacy or current workplace initiatives and determine if any additional information may be helpful for the remit of this initiative. Based on this analysis, we may ask for additional information such as CAFM outputs, pulse survey results, historical utilization rates, etc. We may also recommend additional data capturing activities that may help the data resolution of the exercise and to ensure we don’t miss any blind spots in the data sets.
Spark Brilliance.
Phase 2: Using our technology to test and iterate ideas for a new work experience The objective for this phase is to test and simulate potential ideas, not just around workplace, but around alternative hybrid and distributed models, and the implications on a portfolio level. In this phase we can identify areas of focus for REW, and where resources should be allocated. We display our data and findings in real time through our benchmarking dashboard
We will populate all relevant space, project and technical data into our space calculator portal which will be single source of truth for testing new ideas, pilots and iterating on lessons learned
Pilot testing in real time : We will test and evaluate concepts in ‘rendered’ space through UGene our generative planning tool.

Unispace maintains a datalake of over 30,000 data points that can generate bencharks across market sectors and around multiple work and RTO themes. The results can feed into a Twitter specific Dashboard to help establish not only industry benchmarks but advance a people centric approach to Twitter’s workplace experience.
A collaborative, cloud hosted portal that considers work typologies and work from home scenarios fed by industry trends and ratios.
Upload existing or potential new location floor plans and validate program scenarios fit in physical space.
We upload organizational data, portfolio information, design guidelines and kit of parts to evaluate possible scenarios that support performance and efficiencies at work and at home.
‘UGene’ is an algorithm driven design portal that automates decision making based on design priorities, desired work experiences and adjacencies established in the scenario planning exercises.
We will us this tool to scenario model different ideas and concepts for the overall.
Spark Brilliance.
Phase 3: Potential data capture suite of activities The objective of this phase is to collect data about the overall Twitter work experience, and to generate data that will provide evidence for future shifts and investments that will have a positive impact for all Tweeps. We know the level engagement for data capture depends on privacy and overall employee appetite. That said, below are potential activities that can be explored: • Surveys • Self-feedback boards or QR codes • Ethnographic observations • Focus groups • Interviews • Badge data • Room reservation data • Beacon/desk sensors • Enterprise System or CAFM outputs (similar to Google/Microsoft workplace enterprise solutions) • Wifi log-ins • HelloLampost (Unispace has developed a version for workplace) • Cognitive tracking (Multimer - Unispace has developed a version for workplace) • ONA (Organizational Network Analysis) • Visual Distraction Tracking (Imotions - Unispace has developed a version for workplace)

Highlights: Neighborhood Insights: • We leveraged our advanced data collection, synthesis, and reporting resources to evaluate the entire Update ecosystem of their experience lab. TEXT
• Innovative observation methods were centered in ethnographic research and user engagement technology. This data was then subsequently funneled into virtual dash-boarding for a seamless client presentation experience. • We then were able to conceptualize and consolidate our data-driven strategic reporting into a curated brief, designed to impact multiple levels of their organization (from key leadership recommendations to optimizing the more personal user experience of their new hybrid workplace).

Strategy Work setting variety allowed users to
enjoy breaks from their workstations. Design Desk size was optimal, with adaptable paneling being a highlight for this area.
Aesthetic Overall design was well received, as the space provided a vibrant color palette and an environment of warmth and comfort.
Lack of availability and proximity to meeting spaces. Improvements Mixed feedback on storage shelf location, some like the Workstation pedestals need to be moveable in height, as they are currently too low to maintain proper user comfort. There was also a desire for an increase in lighting and optimized cable management.

As part of Sitcore’s aggressive growth plan, Unispace was engaged to develop global design and sustainability guidelines. The engagement began with an executive visioning session to generate alignment around what a post Covid work experience should be. The team also conducted executive interviews, a Return to Office (RTO) survey, benchmarking, predictive analytics, focus groups, and a cross-market sector perimeter scan. After the team completed their research, synthesis, and analysis, what emerged were a set of recommendations and a business case that informed an overall portfolio strategy.

The Ugene Platform We then developed a bespoke Ugene platform for Sitecore. The platform enabled us to capture lessons learned from previous locations and iterate for future locations by scenario modeling. These scenarios provide Sitecore with visual models of space modifications and/or new pilot spaces along with the cost information.

Implementation Playbook Unispace developed the universal workplace playbook to be implemented globally. Highlights: • A global Unispace team of professionals came together to develop the workplace Playbook that underpinned three key research themes – global cohesiveness, team focus, and integrated expertise. • We developed a website for this client to host their guidelines, with user interfaces for the client’s real estate team, design, construction, and other vendors and consultants that would be involved in a project.
Case study
• As we do post occupancy observations, the website is updated with the latest findings so we can continuously iterate upon the guidelines.
