THE CHRISTMAS AFTER PARTY IT’S A WIN!

WIN!

Orange: the color of autumn. And since 2007 in Idaho, orange is the color of winning a million dollars – guaranteed on the popular game, Idaho $1,000,000 Raffle. Last year, the Idaho Lottery doubled those winnings, offering TWO guaranteed top prizes of $1,000,000. The game was even more successful, selling out at a faster pace than any previous Raffle in Idaho – ever. This year, when orange returns, it will bring the Idaho $1,000,000 Raffle back to the players with the TWO, $1,000,000 top prizes guaranteed. And yes, it is possible for one player to win BOTH $1,000,000 top prizes.

The most widely anticipated game of the year will make its return in all its orange glory on Monday, October 21, 2024, at 4 a.m. Mountain Time.

Last year’s favorite Holiday game sold out all 450,000 of the $10 tickets in just 36 days, ending on November 25, 2023. This year, the Lottery will return a game with the same prizes as last year’s popular edition. Again, when tickets are gone, they’re gone.

To get you and your players ready for this year’s Raffle, here’s everything you need to know:

The Lottery is giving players a chance to win early and often by giving away fifteen $1,000 prizes for ticket purchases made in the first fifteen days of this year’s Raffle! Each day, every day, the Idaho Lottery will randomly select one ticket number purchased from the previous day to win the daily $1,000 prize. Players need only purchase a ticket each day to be qualified for the next day’s draw. Winning numbers from the daily draw will be shown on the Lottery’s video monitors at retail stores, announced on the Lottery’s web page, and also announced on the Lottery’s social media channels – Facebook and Instagram.

Players who win one of the first fifteen days’ $1,000 prizes must claim their prize at the Idaho Lottery offices in Boise. Their ticket will remain eligible to win additional prizes in this year’s Raffle, including both $1,000,000 top prizes.

Who says Santa doesn’t come more than once a year? This holiday season, Santa is making a return visit, bringing a little something extra for Idaho Lottery players at the end of January: TEN, $1,000 second chance prizes from any of this year’s non-winning Holiday-themed Scratch tickets.

WIN $1,000 WITH EVERY 25000TH TICKET SOLD:

Just like the past few years, eighteen lucky players now are going to win $1,000 instantly when they purchase a 25000th ticket. Here’s how it works:

The player who buys ticket 025000 will receive a serial-numbered voucher stating they’ve won a $1,000 prize!

Every subsequent 25000th ticket sold will also generate a winning experience. So, tickets 050000, 075000, 100000, 125000, 150000, 175000, 200000, 225000, 250000, 275000, 300000, 325000, 350000, 375000, 400000, 425000, and 450000 will also receive a $1,000 winning voucher to claim at the Lottery.

All non-winning, 2024 Idaho Lottery Holiday-themed Scratch games with the alphanumeric code on the front are eligible to enter for a chance at winning one of the TEN, $1,000 second chance prizes. Non-winning tickets are entered through the Idaho Lottery’s VIP Club website at vip.idaholottery.com or through the mobile app.

Players enter the alphanumeric code to spin a fun holiday wheel which reveals their number of entries for the draw. All tickets must be entered by Friday, January 31, 2025, at 11:59 pm Mountain Time to be eligible to win.

The games eligible for entry are:

$1 Krisp Kringle Bills (Game #1819)

$3 Naughty or Nice Cashword (Game 1820)

$5 Merry 7s (Game 1821)

$10 It's Gold Outside (Game 1822)

$20 $200K Snowfall (Game 1823)

Let your players know about Santa’s Christmas after party and their chance to win one of the TEN, $1,000 Holiday Bonus 2nd Chance Draw prizes.

On August 22, 2024, Governor Little announced my appointment as the new Director of the Idaho Lottery and the Idaho Liquor Division. My first day was September 16th. In my head and my heart, I am committed to Idaho, the Lottery team, and our common cause of supporting public schools and the State of Idaho’s permanent buildings. I recognize the work the Lottery accomplishes is not possible without the support and commitment from you - our valued and vital brick-and-mortar retail partners.

It’s been a dream to return to Idaho where my career began. I started in the early 1990s on Dirk Kempthorne’s successful U.S. Senate Campaign before transitioning to Governor Phil Batt’s gubernatorial campaign. Once he was elected, I was part of Governor Batt’s team serving as his Senior Policy Advisor with responsibility for the Tax Commission, the Department of Transportation, the National Guard and a few other portfolios, including as a member of the Governor’s Gaming Compact Negotiating Team and as his key representative with Idaho’s Native American Tribes.

After serving as the Republican Party Executive Director and later as the Government Affairs Manager for the Idaho Housing and Finance Association, I left Idaho to join the National Rifle Association as their Senior Media Liaison, eventually working my way through the ranks to Managing Director of Public Affairs and was appointed Interim CEO earlier this year.

I welcome this opportunity and the challenges that come with this job. More importantly, I look forward to meeting many of you as I travel the state. Until then, happy selling.

RAFFLE PRIZES

Idaho $1,000,000 Raffle represents the best odds offered by the Idaho Lottery to win $1,000,000 - guaranteed. Those top two prizes are not the only prizes in the game with great odds of winning. Here’s the prize breakdown:

Tickets will remain on-sale until the 450,000th ticket is sold.

Players will have the opportunity to watch the announcement on an Idaho Lottery draw partner television station during their evening news-telecast on Monday, December 30, 2024, at 5:59 pm MT (4:59 pm PT). Check the Idaho Lottery website for a station in your area.

Be sure to tell your players to sign their tickets and keep them in a safe place (on the refrigerator, in the sock drawer, a small fireproof safe, or wherever they feel comfortable).

Good luck, Idaho. Two lucky players will start the year as our newest millionaires!

VALLEY VIEW ELEMENTARY IN BONNERS FERRY RECEIVES STEM SUPPLIES

The Idaho Lottery granted two Valley View Elementary third-grade teachers with their wish for STEM activities and supplies this summer.

The two teachers — Shelly Hoisington and Kelsey Rice — decided to apply for the Classroom Wishlist award after attending a summer STEM conference sponsored by Boise State University.

"The conference provided a lot of information and hands-on learning opportunities," Hoisington said. "We learned a multitude of strategies designed to integrate STEM into various subject areas and came home ready to implement them."

Wishlist award for $3,435 for STEM carts that include games, puzzles, engineering kits, and building materials.

Although the award was written with third graders in mind, Hoisington said the items and materials are available to all teachers at the school. The STEM activity items and materials are kept on two rolling carts and can easily be moved from classroom to classroom.

"Bringing STEM into the classroom will encourage students to think, create, and explore," she added. "Hands-on experiences offered to students allow them to think outside of the box and build a foundation of strong critical thinking skills. The activities provided will also promote collaboration and communication among peers as they work together to solve problems."

ANDREW ARULANANDAM

Jonny Werner went from being a $50,000 winner to a quarter-millionaire in an instant.

When Werner arrived at the Idaho Lottery office in Boise in late August, he believed he had won $50,000 on his Powerball ticket. A regular player, Werner says he likes to play Powerball when he can and typically lets the terminal pick his numbers.

The Saturday evening before his arrival in Boise, he was in the Maverik on Woodruff in Idaho Falls picking up a few more tickets. He asked the clerk to check his previous tickets for any winners. The clerk did, then returned one of the tickets telling him, “I can’t check this one, you’ll have to take it to Boise.”

After anxiously awaiting his trip, when the moment came, he strolled into the Idaho Lottery lobby confident he had won $50,000. When Idaho Lottery Customer Service scanned his ticket, they informed him that he had not won $50,000. He actually had won $250,000!!

“THIS CAN’T BE!”

JONNY WERNER WINS

$250,000 ON POWERBALL

“I forgot about the automatic multiplier, PowerPlay,” he said both surprised and excited at the extra $200,000 he had just won in an instant.

PowerPlay is a multiplier on all Idaho Lottery Powerball tickets that multiplies non-jackpot winning prizes up to 10 times, depending on the number selected for the draw. For Werner, the number from the winning draw was 5, making his $50,000 winner a $250,000 winner.

Werner, a long-time cabinet installer of 38 years, plans to keep working but did say he was going to pay off his bills and be “debt free!”

“I mean, I’m going to pay off my house, my car and be able to afford a nice vacation,” exclaimed Werner.

Generally, good things happen on your birthday and for those who wait. Such was the story with Dawn Collins who knew she had a $35,000 winning 35th Anniversary Scratch ticket but had to wait over three weeks to visit Boise and claim her

“We went to Piggies to get a newspaper, coffee, and scratch tickets one morning before my birthday,” said Dawn about buying her winning ticket. “I got the ticket, played it, and when I saw what looked like it had

Dawn had her husband double-triple check the ticket. “I wanted to make sure that what I was seeing was real!” she exclaimed.

It was real. And then came the wait. Dawn’s driver’s license expired on her birthday, right around the time she bought the ticket. Needing a valid driver’s license to claim her prize, Dawn had to wait three weeks to renew the license with the Department of Motor Vehicles and have it mailed to her. Once that was taken care of, she made her way to Boise in mid-September to claim her prize.

DAWN WINS FINAL

While convinced her win was real for over three weeks, she still admitted to being nervous when she claimed her prize. “I usually only win $20, so this is a lot bigger! My palms are all sweaty and my hands are shaking!”

“We’re going to solve our car issues with the winnings,” she said when she received her winning check.

Dawn’s winning ticket was sold at Piggie’s Deli Food Mart on Sherman in Coeur d’Alene.

With Dawn’s win, all the top prizes for all the Idaho Lottery’s 35th Anniversary games have been claimed.
