CARD FAMILY
There’s just one direction to give your players when they visit your store starting in May: “Pick a card, any card!” Introducing the Card Family of Scratch Games from the Idaho Lottery. They are the brightest, sparkliest, shiniest games in the entire spring portfolio. In fact, the only thing more magical or dazzling than this family of games are the top prizes, up to $300,000! There’s the green $5 Jack of Clubs that features a top prize of $50,000. The purple $10 Queen of Hearts showcases a top prize of $100,000. The sapphire blue $20 King of Diamonds has a sparkling prize of $200,000 and the red hot $30 Ace of Spades lights it up with a top prize of $300,000! There’s a game for every player. All the games have a similar “key number match” play style. In addition to winning those prizes, players who uncover the game’s card
symbol (for example, a Jack on the Jack of Clubs game) wins the prize shown for that symbol. Players who uncover the symbol for the game’s suit (a heart symbol on the Queen of Hearts game) multiplies their prizes. And if they uncover WIN symbol in the Bonus area on

Our entire game portfolio continues to perform well, particularly Scratch Games. This month, we will introduce a new family of games, the Card Family of Aces, Kings, Queens, and Jacks which comes to market in $30, $20, $10, and $5 price points. Players have shown an affinity to game families and the card-themed offerings always do well. This month, we follow player interest with another high-value ticket that will help your bottom line. We will debut Megabucks, a Scratch Ticket that features two top prizes of $1,000,000, the largest single prize ever offered on a Scratch Ticket in Idaho Lottery history. Mark Perison and his father, Lester, played Idaho Lottery Scratch tickets together for years. They would watch which games were close to being sold out that still had a big winner left to find and would pursue those games. They never won big, but they enjoyed the time they spent together. Last October, as the holiday season drew near, Mark lost his father. Understandably, Mark stopped playing the Lottery for a while. DO GOOD IN GOODING
It must have something to do with the name. The town of Gooding was named after prominent sheep rancher, Frank R. Gooding, who served as the 7th Governor of the State of Idaho in the early 20th Century. While Governor, in 1908, the Idaho School for the Deaf and Blind (ISDB) in Boise burnt to the ground. In March 1909, the Idaho Legislature established a permanent state school for the ISDB and Governor Gooding donated the land near his home where the campus sits today. Idaho’s true pioneering character of benevolence was in full swing during a springtime morning visit from the Idaho Lottery to the ISDB in mid-April. The Lottery
was awarding Tom Jackson, the Information Technology instructor at the school with a new, high-end 3-D printer capable of producing tactile models of objects and printing labels in brail for the school’s visually impaired students as part of the Lottery’s Classroom Wish List program. “Some of our students, especially the visually impaired ones, have a hard time fully grasping concepts until they can touch it,” said Tom. “This printer will allow us the opportunity to make models for classroom use to teach them everything from a tree’s root system to chess sets.” According to Tom, they already have a very lengthy list of projects that have been on hold awaiting the new printer. The students were over the top excited.
After opening the packages, they bombarded Mr. Jackson with ideas, suggestions, and wishes for new projects. Classroom Wish List is one of three “Do Good” programs from the Idaho Lottery. This program awards $10,000 a month, each month, to schools in need or have projects that would otherwise come from a teacher’s own pocket. This fiscal year, the Idaho Lottery has awarded 52 projects for a total of nearly $95,000. But there was something special about being in the town of Gooding for this “Do Good” award. And the Idaho Lottery is proud to support and be a small part of the overall mission for the ISDB and their focus on education, communication, and independence for life. That’s what “Do Good” is all about.
STILL LOOKING FOR MILLION DOLLAR RAFFLE WINNER It’s been four months since the Idaho Lottery announced the winning numbers for its holiday favorite game, the Idaho $1,000,000 Raffle. After 120 days, the top prize of $1,000,000 remains unclaimed and the winner has yet to contact the Idaho Lottery. The winning number is 027047. The winning ticket was sold at an Idaho Lottery retail location in Blaine County. “Players who win a large lottery prize sometimes delay coming forward to claim it, but we’ve reached more than the half-way point in the claiming period for this $1,000,000 winning ticket and the player needs to start thinking about coming forward,” said Jeff Anderson, Idaho Lottery Director. “Winning tickets expire 180 days after the drawing and this one will be invalid after June 27, 2022. After that date, we will be unable to pay the claim.” All unclaimed prizes at the end of the fiscal year ultimately find their way back to the
Idaho Lottery’s beneficiaries – Idaho public schools, the Bond Levy Equalization Fund, and the Department of Administration’s Permanent Building Fund for places like Idaho’s college and university campuses. Each year, anywhere from $3.3 million to $4.8 million in winning Idaho Lottery tickets go unclaimed. If no one steps forward with the winning ticket, this will become only the third $1 million winning draw ticket in Idaho Lottery history to go unclaimed and the first in a decade. In 2010 a $1,000,000 Powerball winning ticket sold in Irwin, Idaho – near the Idaho-Wyoming border – went unclaimed. And in June 2012, another $1,000,000 Powerball ticket, sold from a Maverik Store in Meridian, also went unclaimed. The winner of the 2021 Idaho $1,000,000 Raffle should sign the back of their ticket immediately and contact the Idaho Lottery office in Boise.
In addition, a $10,000 prize winning ticket from the Idaho $1,000,000 Raffle also remains unclaimed and was sold at a retail location in Nez Perce County. Players have until June 27, 2022 to claim these tickets through the Idaho Lottery office in Boise. Players may also mail their winning tickets to Lottery Offices for payment. All other prizes may be claimed at Idaho Lottery retail locations. This year’s Idaho $1,000,000 Raffle generated more than $900,000 in dividend revenue to benefit Idaho public schools and buildings.
