Fire up the grill, get the smoker going, and break out the meat ‘cause this baby is hot, hot, hot! How hot? Twenty “hot” chances to win on every $5 game ticket. Even hotter? How about a top prize of $50,000 and more ways to win extra prizes than you can shake a BBQ skewer at? That’s delicious.
Players that match their “HOT NUMBERS” under the BBQ coals to any of the “YOUR NUMBERS” win the prize shown. Get a stack of money and win that prize automatically. Reveal a money bag symbol and win all the prizes on the ticket.
The Lottery is sponsoring a BBQ side dish recipe contest on our website and through social for the chance to win $500 in BBQ Bucks Scratch tickets. The winners will be featured in a Digital Cookbook available for VIP Club members to purchase for 25 VIP Club points.
About the only thing this game doesn’t come with is leftover mopping sauce for the rolls.

Nationwide, and across Idaho, community festivals for the country’s 250-year anniversary are gearing up. During the coming month, Idaho Lottery will be honoring America’s 250th anniversary by introducing a commemorative America 250 in Idaho Scratch Game specifically designed with the 4th of July celebrations in mind. The $5 game features two $25,000 top prizes and many $250 prizes.
Summer is also barbequing season. The Lottery’s BBQ Bucks Scratch Game is the perfect complement to this year’s backyard celebrations and fireworks on the 4th of July. Not only is Kenneth Wood a longtime resident of Pocatello, he’s also been a longtime player of the Idaho Lottery. A regular at the Smith’s on Yellowstone in Chubbuck, Kenneth plays the Idaho Lottery every day except Sunday. He’s the

Kenneth had been playing the new Millionaire for Life game, the draw game that gives players the chance to win $1,000,000 a year for life, or, $100,000 a year for life. Kenneth came oh so close to winning one of those prizes. He was just one winning number away from winning the jackpot from one of the daily draws in April. Still, the close call was worth $7,500 for matching four of the first five balls, and the Millionaire Ball. When Kenneth handed the clerks at Smith’s his ticket he got the surprise of a lifetime.
“I had them check it for me to see if I was a winner. They’re always rooting for me to do well and win,” said Kenneth. “Initially they didn’t tell me I’d won. They just looked at me and said, ‘You’re going to Boise!’”
A retired journeyman, Kenneth plans to pay off some debt and open bank accounts for his grandchildren.
The United Kingdom National Lottery is joining Powerball this summer.
• America and Idaho’s favorite national lottery game, Powerball, will be gaining a new international partner this summer when the United Kingdom’s National Lottery joins the game.
What does this mean for Idaho and Idaho Lottery Powerball players?
• About 2/3 of every dollar spent on Powerball in Idaho remains in Idaho and will continue to benefit Idaho’s public schools and buildings. About 38% of all Powerball sales contribute to the Idaho Lottery annual dividend.
• Since 1990, Powerball has contributed over $393 million out of $1.348 billion to benefit Idaho public schools and buildings.
• The game and the price of the game are not changing. Tickets remain $3 each and include PowerPlay.
• The odds of winning do not change. The overall odds in the game will remain the same. Remember, players do not compete against one another for jackpots or prizes, they just try to match winning numbers.
• Powerball became a quasi-international game in 2002 when the US Virgin Islands joined. Puerto Rico joined in 2014. Mississippi was the last jurisdiction to join in 2020.
• Powerball drawings will continue to be held every Monday, Wednesday, and Saturday nights at 8:59 p.m. MT from the Powerball draw studio in Florida.

• Just as other participating states and jurisdictions, the United Kingdom will only contribute to the Powerball jackpot prize - $0.68 USD per play.

SCRATCH FOR SCHOOLS IN SALMON
The Stagecoach Inn sits right above the Salmon River in the northeast corner of Idaho. The Inn’s breakfast room seems an unlikely place to find a dozen sets of schoolteachers, administrators, and parents on a spring afternoon huddled tightly around small wooden tables to compete for the Idaho Lottery’s title of Fastest Scratching School in the Lemhi-Custer County area.
In one corner are Vikings from Challis, chanting “Skol! Skol! Skol!” All are armed with prop shields, axes and hammers, adorned in Viking helmets and robes. They are fierce. On the opposite side of room decked out in bright orange uniforms and matching spiked hair are the Savages of Salmon High. They’re wild
“yeeee-aaaa-yeee” high pierced cries counter the rhythmic chants of “Skol.” It’s a raucous scene. Yet this is the embodiment of what Scratch for Schools is – a multi-community event that brings Idaho’s schools from 11 different regions together for a common purpose – to improve and benefit public education.
While the competition in Salmon was ferocious, in the end the title went to the longtime participants from Lemhi Juvenile Detention Center Education program. The schools from Challis walked away with a total of $1,057. The Savages from Salmon won $872. Pretty good for five minutes of work.
