Judson Wayne Grassmid was born to Susanne and Robert Grassmid in Grand Rapids, Michigan March 17, 1948 and went to be with Jesus January 29, 2021. He was taken suddenly and without suffering while cutting down a tree. He came to know God as a young boy thanks to his parents’ unshakable faith and dedicated his life to the Lord and helping others. He was a generous and energetic man always willing to give words of comfort or share what he had with anyone. He cared for others before himself. The children from church always

had to say hi to Mister Jud. His family was a joy in his life, and he spent much of his retirement time with his grandchildren. His mission was to help them learn about life and teach them about God. He enjoyed waterskiing on the Thornapple River, boating on the Grand River, bird watching and traveling. Jud loved music. As a young man he sang in a barbershop quartet and always loved attending live music events. He loved organ music, attending the symphony, bluegrass and even free park band music. Jud was preceded in death by his parents and his brother Scott. Jud is survived by his wife Nancy; his sons and their spouses Kenton and Vickie Grassmid; Delton and Tabitha Grassmid; his stepdaughter and her husband Amber and Brian Short; his grandchildren Harrison, Alexa, Danika, Cameron, Basil, Kyla, Olive, Dominic and Silvia; his sister Barbara (Mike) Lautenbach and brother Tom (Janet) Grassmid and many others who love him. A private memorial service will be held.

Ionia, MI− In 2021, Seniors Helping Seniors of Clinton, Eaton, Ionia, and Ingham counties expanded its territory to include Ionia County. Owner Amy Kanouse is now providing in-home care services to over 50 customers with its nearly 60 caregivers in Clinton, Ingham, Ionia, and Eaton counties in Michigan. The non-medical home care organization provides companionship, transportation, meal preparation, overnight stays, light housekeeping, and personal care services all by seniors who get paid for their work. Each of the Seniors Helping Seniors franchisees in Michigan work collaboratively to provide these wide-ranging services and to leverage their collective network of caregivers and related resources.
