† BROWN Michael Joseph Brown age 39 of Ionia passed away September 27, 2021 in
Lansing. He was born April 2, 1982 in Grand Rapids, Michigan the son of Walter Brown III and Peri Phillips. Michael married Chelsea C. Shields September 9, 2017 in Ionia. He loved Trans Am’s, Harley Davidson Motorcycles and Elephants. Michael adored his family and spending time with them. He had a great sense of humor and he loved doing Burnouts! Michael is survived by his loving wife Chelsea Brown of Ionia; children; Jason Brown, Arihanna Brown, Scarlett Laird-Brown and Skyy Brown all of Ionia; father Walter Brown III and Coleen Curry of Ionia.; mother Peri (Joel) Bos of Dorr; siblings; Ashleigh Brown, Kendra (Emily) Bos, Walter Curry, Jessup Jasso, Trenton Brown, Steven Lake, Logan Brown and Justin Wooll; mother-in- law Cindy Shields.; brother-in-law Brandon (Tara) Shields; grandfathers Walter Brown II and Douglas B Philips; step grandfather Elmer Bos and several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his brother Alex Brown, grandmothers Judith Brown and Toni Williams
and father- in- law Gary Shields. Funeral Services for Michael were held at Outreach Christian Church 7831 N. Jordan Lake Rd. Lake Odessa, MI 48849, Friday, October 1, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Fred Lab officiating. Interment Balcom Cemetery. † STOWELL Jaclyn B. Stowell, 72, of Orleans Township, Belding, passed Monday afternoon,
September 20, 2021. Jaclyn was born on February 19, 1949, in Ionia, the daughter of Ralph G. and Maysel L. (Noddins) Miller. Jaclyn graduated from Belding High School with the Class of 1966. Following graduation, she worked in medical records at the Belding Hospital, and later worked for the Amway Corporation as a relocation specialist. Jaclyn was a past president of the Dildine 4-H Club and of the West Michigan Relocation Council. She enjoyed biking and walking. She was married on September 10, 1966, in Ionia to Rance R. Stowell. Jaclyn is loved and survived by her husband Rance and their children, Joseph Stowell, of Charlotte; David (Peggy) Stowell, of Holt; grandchildren, Jayda, Emma, and her brother, Jerry (Kathy) Miller, of Gowen. She was preceded in death by her parents. Graveside funeral services will be 11:00 AM, Saturday, October 9, 2021, at Orleans Township Cemetery with Pastor Ron Bergin of the Ionia Church of the Nazarene officiating. A luncheon will follow the service at noon at the Ionia Church of the Nazarene at 83 E. Tuttle Rd in Ionia. Memorial contributions may be given to the Alzheimer’s Association or the National Arbor Day Foundation. Envelopes will be available at Johnson-Feuerstein Funeral Home, Belding, where funeral care has been entrusted. † WARD Sondra Ruth Ward age 86 was called to her heavenly home on September 25, 2021 surrounded by her loving family. Sondra was born on July 25, 1935 in Ionia, Michigan to Jerry and Helen (Wheeler) Frost. Sondra married Lewis Ward in 1961, they enjoyed many vacations together with friends especially their trips to the Smokey Mountains. She retired from Michigan Bell in Wyoming MI. Her life was surrounded by music and her talent was playing the piano beginning at the age of 4, truly a gift from God. For many decades she directed choirs, cantatas and her boys “Half A Ton of Praise”. She was the organist at Easton United Methodist church for 49 years. She loved her family very much and loved hearing their stories and accomplishments. Sondra was proceeded in death by her parents, husband Lewie, sister Madelon Waterhouse, step sister Sharon Duits, step brother Max Inman. She is survived by her step brother Victor Inman, her children Annette (Ken) Blanchard of Lowell, Connie (Brad) Mulford of Ionia, Diane (Duane) Denman of Saranac, Chris Getts of Saranac. Grand Children, Angie (Beau) Stephens of Saranac, Lisa (Travis) Lehman of Lowell, Darcy (Jared) Foy of Ionia, Dana (Ty) Denman of Saranac, Denise (Brett) Potter of Dansville, Kiley (Kevin) Rasch, Justin Mulford of Saranac, Mariah Mulford of Ionia, Hunter Mulford of Ionia and 12 great grandchildren. Visitation will be held at Lake Funeral Home in Saranac October 5, 2021 from 4-7pm, funeral services will be at Easton United Methodist Church in Ionia October 6, 2021 at 11am. † WOLBERS Robert “Bob” Lee Wolbers, passed away surrounded by his loving family on Thursday, September 23, 2021. Bob was born on January 23, 1937, the son of Benjamin and Francis (Stocks) Wolbers in Grand Rapids. On November 19, 1983, he married the love of his life, Carol. Bob enjoyed restoring John Deere tractors and his 1950 chevy truck. He also loved camping, car shows, tractor shows and going over the Mackinac bridge on tractors. He is survived by his loving wife, Carol, of Saranac; children, Rachelle (Ron) Hammons of Texas, Robert Wolbers Jr. of Texas, Sonja (Troy) Dedonado of Lowell, Steve Donovan of Battle Creek and Michelle (Richard) Bush of Saranac; siblings, Gordon (Linda) Wolbers of Lowell, Gaylord (Sue) Wolbers of Clarksville and Marilyn Ulferts of Minnesota; 12 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. Bob was preceded in death by his parents. A Mass of Christian Burial was held at 11 AM Wednesday, September 29, 2021 at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church in Saranac.
