† SCHWAB Michael Schwab, age 67, of Ionia,

passed away on Monday, August 22, 2022. Mike was born on August 5, 1955, the son of Leonard and Mary Lou (Hawley) Schwab in Ionia, MI. Mike loved traveling the united states buying and selling signs. He enjoyed his classic cars and riding his trikes.

Mike is survived by his daughters, Melinda Schwab of Ionia and Michelle Schwab of Florida; brothers, Jim Schwab of Oregon, Jerry Schwas of Florida, Don (Jan) Schwab of Florida, Michael McCord, Daniel McCord, and sister Judy Hansberger; Grandchildren, Alyssa Lynn, Jacob Lynn and Rebecca Painter; and great grandchild, Teagan Budd.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Darla Schwab; brother, Charles Schwab; and brother, Thomas McCord.

A Celebration of Life will be held at the family’s property, at 3 PM on September 10, at 2350 Kellog Rd. Ionia, MI 48846.

† SHELDON Larry Neil Sheldon Sr. age 61 of Lake Odessa passed away August 21, 2022.

He was born April 14, 1961 in Hastings the son of Arthur H. and Dorothy (McGlamery) Sheldon.

Larry married Lucinda Ann Giles May 23, 1992 in Sebewa Township.

He worked for Herbruck’s Poultry Ranch as a Supervisor for many years. Larry loved spending time with his Grandchildren.

Surviving Larry are his wife Cindy Sheldon of Lake Odessa. Son; Larry N. (Gabrielle E.) Sheldon Jr. of Woodland. Grandchildren; Benjamin J. Sheldon and Charlotte G. Sheldon of Woodland. Sisters; Deb (Shirley) Sheldon of Lowell, Kimberly (James) Miller of Lake Odessa and Lenore (Steve) Carter of Greenville. Several nieces and nephews also survive. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother Arthur L. Sheldon.

Funeral Services for Larry was held at the Lake Funeral Home in Ionia Friday, August 26th at 1:30 p.m. with Pastor Tim Bateman officiating. Interment Lakeside Cemetery. Visitation was on Thursday 4-7 p.m. at the Funeral Home. Those wishing may make Memorial Contributions to Ionia County Victim’s Advocates. She was preceded in death by her Mother Patricia Traill, Stepfather Leonard Traill, Grandma Beatrice Dykstra & Grandpa Louis Dykstra, & nephew Austin Poortvliet.

Survived by Husband David Traill, Daughters Sarah (Jake) & Katie Traill, Brother Len Traill, Stepsisters Edonna (Ray) Russell, Stephanie (Gary) Poortvliet & Kim (Steve) Irvine & many nieces and nephews.

Rep. Calley invites residents to upcoming office hours

State Rep. Julie Calley is hosting her upcoming office hours in Hastings and Saranac.

“Listening to the community helps me understand what concerns our district is facing,” Rep. Calley said. “I am incredibly grateful to have a dialog and open conversation on what issues are impacting you.”

The informal meetings will take place at the following times and locations: • Wednesday, Aug. 31, from 11 a.m. to noon at the Barry County Tyden Center, 121 S. Church St. in Hastings.

• Wednesday, Sept. 7, from 11 a.m. to noon at Scheid Park, 455 Main St. in Saranac.

No appointment is necessary to attend.
