Dorthy (Wheelock) Kimball, age 80, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Wednesday, July 15, 2020 surrounded by her loving family. Dorthy was born September 22, 1939 to Leo and Lela Wheelock in Saranac, MI. Dorthy “Dot” married Arnold A Kimball in February 1957. Dot will be greatly missed by her children, Sandra (Don) Busfield, Mark (Brenda) Kimball and James Kimball; grandchildren, Debra (Rob) Strawser, Scott (Lisa) Busfield, Amy Busfield, Rebecca (Andrew) Wright, Mitch (Erin) Kimball, Morgan (Dakota) West; and 11 great-grandchildren, Matthew Butler, Kaitlyn, Rachel and Christopher Baldwin, Andrew Jr, Liam and Kendra Wright, Ethan and Aiden Busfield, Matthew and Madelynn Dorthy Kimball. Dot’s siblings; Harriet (Bruce) Davenport, Anna Niemela, Charllot Perry, David Wheelock and Dan (Evelyn) Wheelock and several nieces and nephews.

In their retirement years, she and Arnie wintered in Florida where they formed special friendships with those at the First Church of God-Bushnell.

Dot graduated from Western Michigan University with a MA in Counseling Education. Throughout her 25 years of service at Saranac High School, she touched many lives within the community.

Visitation will be on Friday, July 17, 2020 from 4PM – 7PM at Lake Funeral Home – 3521 South State Road – Ionia, MI 48846 and Saturday, July 18, 2020 from 12PM – 2PM at Pathway Church 4960 Portland Rd, Saranac, MI 48881 .

A funeral service with limited seating, will be held at 2PM on Saturday, July 18, 2020 at Pathway Church - 4960 Portland Rd, Saranac, MI 48881.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Spectrum Health Hospice. † TRUEBLOOD James R. Trueblood, age 96, of Ionia passed away Tuesday, May 5, 2020. He was born on June 30th, 1923 in St. Johns, Michigan, the son of William and Bessie Trueblood.

He is preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Edith; brother, Orville, sister, Mildred; and son, Bill.

Surviving are his son, James Robert (Susie) Trueblood, daughter in law, Nancy Beirlein; three grandchildren, Bill Trueblood Jr. of Ionia, Lisa Trueblood of North Carolina and Jason Trueblood of Grand Rapids; and five great-grandchildren, Madison, Amelia, Marie, Grace and Peter.

Jim served in the Army Air Force during WWII and belonged to the Veterans of Foreign Wars. Jim rebuilt and flew a Piper Tri-Pacer with sons Bob and Bill and he belonged to the Michigan Chapter of the Short Wing Piper Club.

Jim photographed area football games, was a news stringer for stations in Grand Rapids, Lansing, and Kalamazoo, was a projectionist at the Ionia Drive In and filmed publicity for the Ionia Free Fair, even riding in the Goodyear Blimp over the Ionia Free Fairgrounds.

Besides being a mechanic, parts manager, and garage supervisor, Jim restored several antique cars. He attended the NASCAR tuning school and worked on his son, Bill’s, race cars, which won a few season championships.

A graveside service will be held 11:00 am, Friday July 24, at North Plains Cemetery. Arrangements in care of Lake Funeral Home of Ionia. Memorial contributions may be made in James name to Ionia Commission on Aging. Based on updated financial projections for the year, PHP is passing along the savings in the following ways.

•PHP fully insured small group employers (2-50 employees) will receive a 15% credit for their for April and May premiums, which will be applied to their

August 2020 premium invoices.

•PHP Medicare members who paid a premium greater than $0 per month for Sparrow Advantage Plus, Covenant Advantage Plus, or the PHP Advantage Plus plan in April and May 2020 will receive a 50% premium refund for those months, which will be issued in August.

•PHP will continue to evaluate the full effect of COVID-19 and work with regulatory agencies for consideration of other groups and individuals to receive premium credits.
