Obituary † KENTER
Katherine Elizabeth Kenter (nee Heppe) died in her home in Orleans, Michigan on March 15, 2020 at the age of 88. Katherine is survived by her two children, Diane (Chuck) Helmholdt and Wayne (Sylvia) Kenter; two grandchildren, Nicholas (Ashley) and Anthony (Mary Kate); two great-grandchildren, Rowan and Bradley; and brother and sisters-in-law, Ivan and Lorraine Kenter, Myrtle Schmidt, Lucille Heppe, and Gertrude Heppe. She is preceded in death by her husband, Stephen; her brothers, Vernon, Adam, Harvey, Robert; and her sister, Mildred.
She was born on January 29, 1932 in Orleans, Michigan to Henry and Elizabeth Heppe. She grew up on a farm and loved animals. She graduated from Ionia High School in 1950. Katherine married Stephen Kenter the following year in 1951. She worked at the Ionia Sentinel Standard until the birth of her daughter. Katherine and Steve enjoyed travel and made road trips to California, Alaska, and visited many national parks. She raised butterflies and cultivated a flower garden. Katherine was skilled at sewing, knitting, crochet, embroidery, and needlepoint. Her children and grandchildren remember her as a kind and caring mother. A graveside service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, June 19, 2020 at Highland Park Cemetery, Ionia with Pastor Kenneth Harger, presiding. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to the Ionia Commission on Aging, 115 Hudson Street, Ionia, MI 48846. Arrangements are entrusted to Lehman Funeral Homes. Saying Good Bye.....
I would like to say good bye to Eric Christensen and David Lee. We all have had a lot to deal with the past few months. With alot of us having to deal with sickness and death from afar. My friend David died in February just about the time the governor put us in lock down. While my friend Eric was lying in a adult care bed in Ionia. I was going and visiting Eric Weekly. Then no one could see him because of the lock down. Sounds like something the history books once taught us in school. Never believing that it would happen here in the United States. I don’t know for sure if Eric would have lived longer or might still be alive if he would had visitors and friendship. I feel bad for all that died alone. I don’t know whats worse , die alone of taking a chance that virus might take your life or a friends. David died from complications of a colonoscopy. Thank you David for all the times you played guitar and sang way into the early mornings at the parties we had. Some great times through the years. Rest in peace brother. May the sound of music be your soul forever. Eric we went way back, you will be missed. Love you both. After I wrote this letter my sister Debbie past away. I wish I could of said good bye. Calley, of Portland, said the Unemployment Insurance Agency continues to be a source of fury and frustration for tens of thousands of people who are still unable to access their unemployment benefits. “People are exasperated because they are unable to speak directly with an employee at the unemployment agency,” Calley said. “Clearly, the procedures they have in place are not working. It’s time to reopen our local unemployment offices and give people an avenue to speak to a
live person so they can finally get their issues resolved.” Calley, who serves on the bipartisan Joint Select Committee on the COVID-19 Pandemic with colleagues from both the House and Senate, noted testimony last month from Michigan’s Department of Labor and Economic Opportunity disclosed that roughly 124,000 people who had filed claims still had received no payments. Since then, the UIA has admitted that 340,000 claims are delayed due to concerns of fraud. While claimants are required to submit confirmation of their identity, the UIA will not commit to a timeline to release their funding, which has resulted in weeks of delayed payments
to those who are rightfully due support. “The UIA has now had three months to adjust to the large influx of claims caused by COVID-19 and get their feet back under them,” Calley said. “They’ve even turned down help from outside vendors. At this point, the number of problems Michiganders continue to experience interacting with the unemployment agency is completely unacceptable. Normally I wouldn’t recommend looking to Secretary of State’s offices as an example of customer service, but even their branches were able to open to the public for appointments on June 1. It’s time for the UIA to follow their lead.”

Revelation 14:8 states, “And there followed another angel, saying, Babylon is fallen, is fallen, that great city, because she made all nations drink of the wine of her fornication.” Who or what is Babylon? Ancient Babylon was erected by Nimrod as the tower of Babel to reach heaven by man’s efforts. God confused their languages and the building stopped. Babylon meant “Gateway to God” but it is now known as confusion. (Genesis 11:1-9) The ancient city of Babylon was destroyed and was never to be rebuilt. (Isaiah 13:19,20; Jeremiah 51:37) Babylon was destroyed in 539. The ruins of Babylon we find in Iraq today. Sadam Hussain tried to rebuild Babylon, but he is dead and the Bible prophecy remains true. It is not productive or presumptive to fight against God’s Word, no matter how great or small you are. But Revelation is speaking of Spiritual Babylon: Spiritual confusion. Revelation 17:1-5 tells us of a PROSTITUE who sits on many waters. “And upon her head was a name written, MYSTERY BABYLON THE GREAT, THE MOTHER OF HARLOTS AND ABOMINATIONS OF THE EARTH.” Revelation 17:18 states, “And the woman which you saw is that great CITY which rules over the kings of the earth.” So Babylon is a woman riding a beast. In the Bible a woman is a church. Jeremiah 6:2 states, “I have likened the daughter of Zion to a beautiful and comely woman.” Jeremiah 14: 17 calls Zion “his virgin daughter.” As does Isaiah 61:10. A faithful woman is the true church. (Revelation 12:1) A prostitute would be an unfaithful church. Babylon is WORSHIPPED. It is not an atheistic system. it is a religious system. She is riding a beast. Daniel 7:17,23 tells us a beast is a king or kingdom. A political power. The church is in control of the country. I Peter 5:13 states, “And the CHURCH which is in BABYLON. salute you.” There is general agreement among commentators that Peter used the term as a veiled reference to Rome. where he spent most of his ministry. Babylon sits on seven mountains in Revelation. Rome has her seven hills. “All roads lead to Rome” it was said. Rome was the great city which ruled the earth. The woman is called the MOTHER. So this refers to the Mother Church. There is only one church that calls herself the Mother Church, and she is located in Rome. Revelation 17 says “she is drunken with the blood of the saints and martyrs of Jesus.” During the Dark Ages it is estimated that more than 50 million people were jailed, tortured, burned, flayed, and killed by the church in Rome. Revelation 14:8 says “Babylon is fallen, is fallen.” Revelation 18:1-4 repeats this statement and says, “Come OUT OF HER, MY PEOPLE., that you be not partakers of her sins, and receive not of her plagues.” This Scripture tells us that she is the “Habitation of devils, foul spirits, and the hold of every hateful and unclean bird.” God is not condemning the people. He is calling His people OUT of that corrupt system. which has taken people’s eyes away from Jesus’ ministry in the heavenly sanctuary as our High Priest, and substituted an earthly priesthood and substitute mediators, which has led to much corruption and sin. Religion and politics do not mix. Yet we have, as every country in the world does, an ambassador to a church regarded as a country, Vatican City. This is the teachings of leading Protestant reformers beginning with Martin Luther. Cotton Mather (Congregational) said, “In the pope in Rome all the characteristics of antichrist are so marvelously answered that if any who read the Scriptures do not see it, there is a marvelous BLINDNESS upon them.” Similar statements I can quote from Thomas Cranmer (Anglican), Roger Williams (First Baptist Pastor in America), John Calvin (Presbyterian), John Knox (Scottish Presbyterian), and John Wesley (Methodist). But something has happened to the DAUGHTER churches. They do NOT teach what the reformers taught. BABYLON is the MOTHER of HARLOTS. These are fallen Protestant churches that follow her teachings and honor her leadership. A daughter born to a prostitute takes the mother’s name. So Babylon refers to the whole system of spiritual confusion that has resulted from man’s attempts to change, twist, and disregard the Word of God. God’s people in Babylon have been lulled to sleep by their own lack of understanding of the Word and its application to last day events. Next time: The mark of the beast. How partnering is helping small businesses weather the social distancing storm

Social distancing guidelines implemented in the wake of the COVID-19 outbreak posed unique challenges to small business owners. Many small businesses were forced to close their facilities to customers to prevent the spread of the virus, which various sources estimated had claimed the lives of more than 200,000 people by the end of April. Delivery and curbside pickup enabled many businesses to offer limited services to consumers, but low
revenue still forced many businesses to seek new ways to generate sales. Partnering is one creative way many small businesses owners sought to generate more sales. By partnering with other local businesses, small business owners can capitalize on the community-first attitude many consumers are embracing as they look to help local industries weather the storm created by social distancing. Restaurant owners can look into partnering with local grocers who can sell prepared meals in their stores, many of which are operating only under very limited, if any, restrictions. Such a partnership can fill the needs of consumers who have grown tired of making their own meals for weeks on end, while also giving grocery stores struggling with supply chain issues more items with which to stock their shelves. It also allows restaurant owners to generate revenue while ensuring food they purchased prior to the implementation of social distancing guidelines does not go to waste. Local auto body shops also can capitalize on partnering by working in conjunction with local automotive supply stores. By offering many of the items drivers need, such as windshield washer fluid, auto accessories and more, in their shops, auto body shops can attract customers who still need to maintain their vehicles but don’t want to make too many shopping trips. When customers call to book oil change appointments, ask if there are any automotive supplies they need, then partner with a local supply store to deliver those items before customers arrive for their oil changes. Such partnerships benefit consumers and business owners alike, making them ideal ways to generate additional revenue during what has proven to be challenging economic times for many small businesses.
