Martin (Marty) Cummings, age 66 beloved husband, father and friend passed away peacefully on April 18, 2024, with his wife and mother-in-law at his side. Martin was predeceased by his parents, Phillip Cummings and Joyce Matthews. Brothers Daniel Cummings, Jeffrey Cummings and son, Robert Cummings. Martin served in the US Navy for 12 years as a submariner and he loved his country. Martin is survived by his wife, Patricia Cummings, daughter and son in law, Celeste and Josh Lipps, grandsons, Jackson and Elson Lipps and cousins Lyndon and Carol Randall and Rob Cummings. Martin is also survived by his 4 fur babies, Pepper, Ellie, Anna Belle and Ziva, who he loved and cared for every day. Marty will be missed by everyone who knew and loved him. Marty’s love for the Lord was abundant and showed in how he lived his life.

Debby Ann Denike-Hager passed June 6, 2024, at her Morrison Lake home in Ionia County, MI. She succumbed to Pulmonary Fibrosis, having been diagnosed 7 years earlier.
Debra Ann Denike was born to Thomas Pake Denike and Eunice (Evens) Denike August 9, 1948, in Cadillac MI. She was preceded in death by Sister Leta Denike, Brother Berton Denike, Brother-in-law David Hager, Nephews Matt and Brad Denike. She is survived by Husband Stephen (Steve) R. Hager, Daughter Josie (Tracy) Pelmear, Stepson Jeff (Willis) Atkinson, Stepdaughter Cheri Hager-Miller, Brother William (Jennie) Denike, Sisters Sharon (Fred) Sprague and Becky Martinez, Brother-in-law Lance (Julie) Hager, Sisters- in-law Amy Hager and Peggy (Berton) Denike, Son-in-law Tracy Pelmear and Grandsons, Troy and Nick Pelmear, Granddaughter Auti Miller, and many nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.
Debby was raised on the Denike Farm in Boon, MI and began working in her young years on the farm and other work such as picking Cherries in the Traverse City area. In later years she enjoyed other work around Cadillac including Four Winns Boat Co., Kyser of Cadillac, managing offices for the Michigan Dept. of Mental Health, and later as partner with Steve in their Manufacturers Representative Agency.
Debby married Steve Dec. 2, 1990, at the Cloisters, Paradise Island, Bahamas. They resided on lakes in Ionia County, settling her last 32 years on Morrison Lake. In season, she loved being on the water in her float chair or on the pontoon with her kids, grandsons, friends, family or just with Steve cruising and reading at anchor.
During winters, she and Steve escaped to Cocoa Beach (home away) and the Keys. She enjoyed travel for work and pleasure around North America, Caribbean and Mediterranean Cruises and Destination Islands. The Islands of Antigua and Maui, being her two favorites. International trips were primarily Mediterranean Cruises, on which overtime weeks were spent in Italy, her favorite European Destination.
Debby was an excellent meal designer and loved cooking for Steve, family and friends. She never missed a birthday, anniversary, or holiday. She sent cards to her family and friends for all occasions. She loved tending her vegetable gardens each season. In later years tending the landscape and deck flowers became a favorite pastime, along with deck-time, reading and visiting with family and friends. She was a sweet, loving, wonderful person to all who had the fortune to know her.
A memorial service will be 11:00 am, Tuesday, August 2, 2024 at Pathway A Wesleyan Church in Saranac with Pastor Mark Lipscomb officiating. A visitation will be held one hour prior to service at the church.

Kimberly Sue Goodemoot age 54 of Lake Odessa passed away June 9, 2024. She was born May 24, 1970, in Ionia, Michigan the daughter of John R. and Connie L. (Fox) Heppe. Kim went to Belding Public Schools graduating with the Class of 1988. She went to Lansing Community College before entering the Army. Kim married the love of her life Gary Goodemoot July 10, 1992, in Petersburg, Virginia while they were both serving in the Army. She served from 1992 to 1996 and attended Miller & Mott College while enlisted, receiving her associates degree. Kim worked for Grand Rapids Ophthalmology as an Ophthalmology Tech and as a Home Health Care Caretaker. She would volunteer for many community functions, and she was a very passionate and proud Veteran.
Kim was the most loving, caring, nurturing mother to Travis and Ben and a supportive, loving, nurturing wife to Gary. She never missed a birthday party or family function. She was always a big light to our family. Kim was the favorite aunt always attentive to all her nieces and nephews. She will always be remembered as the favorite aunt.
Kim enjoyed tending her gardens, her pets, and was an avid Lions and U of M fan. She loved reading and sharing her books.
Surviving is her loving husband of 31 years Gary Goodemoot of Lake Odessa. Sons; Travis Russell Goodemoot and Benjamin Robert Goodemoot of Lake Odessa. Parents John and Connie Heppe of Orleans. Father-in-law Russell (Maureen) Goodemoot of Belding. Mother-in-law Judy (Gene) Taber of Lake Odessa; Brother Christopher (Christa) Heppe of New Port Richey, Florida. Brothers and Sisters in law; Julie Johnson of Woodland, Karen (Dennis) Kauffman of Lake Odessa and Jill Macsimowski. Nieces and Nephews Curtis Heppe, Cameron Heppe, Amber Johnson, Rebecca Fisher, Emma Johnson, Michael (Meagan) Goodemoot, Kevin Goodemoot, Amber Rairigh, Erin Goodemoot, Ashley Faulkner, Meagan Goodemoot, Chelsey Dodge, Ty Macsimowski and Camryn Macsimowski; step brother-in-law Mark (Sharon) Zimmerman; step sisters-in-law Julie (Jeff) Batzer and Kelly (Trevor) Smith. She was preceded in death by her Grandparents Robert & Lucille Heppe, Joseph & Betty Fox and Francis & Ethel Goodemoot; brother in laws Greg Goodemoot and Rick Johnson. Memorial Services for Kim will be at the Lake Funeral Home in Ionia on Tuesday, June 18th at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Nancy Patera officiating, Interment with Military Honors to follow at Balcom Cemetery. † WRIGHT Wilma Ione Wright, age 88, of Saranac, passed away on Monday, June 10, 2024. She was born on December 17, 1935, the daughter of Alzie and Ruth (Clark) Priest in Ionia, MI. On November 5, 1955, she married the love of her life, Harry Wright, and together they were blessed with four children.
Wilma enjoyed gardening and flowers. She loved her dog Oscar, and spending time with her grandchildren. She was a bus driver for Saranac Schools for 30 years.
Wilma is survived by her children, Charles Wright of Indiana, Kemberley (Steve) Kimble of Saranac, Sherri Norton of Newaygo, and Roxanne Johnson (Doug Swider) of Caledonia; sister, Norma Jane Triggs of Charlotte; brother-in-law, Mekwin Wright, 10 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Harry; son-in-law, Bernard Norton Jr.; siblings, Gladys, Edna, Opal, Ferne, Faye, Walter, and Melvin and her grandson, Adam Jeffrey Best.
A Funeral Service will be held at 11 AM Monday, June 17, at Clarksville Bible Church with Pastor Tim Bateman officiating. The newly renovated building expands services for the region and ensures access for our community, reducing the need to travel far for services.
