† LANZ William LeRoy Lanz, age 89, passed away peacefully at his residence on Saturday, April

† ROWLEY Clifford Lee Rowley, age 68, of Ionia, passed away on Friday, December 31, 2021. Cliff was born on April 26, 1953, the son of Gilbert and Kathleen (Lehman) Rowley in Ionia. On August 12, 1972, he married the love of his life, the former Brenda Beach. Cliff worked at Wilson’s Heating and Cooling and Gencorp Automotive. Cliff loved being self-employed until his retirement. He was a part of the Ionia Farm Power Club for many years. He loved being outdoors and fixing cars and tractors. Cliff was proud of the mechanical traits he passed on to several family members especially his son and grandsons. They were always repairing or working on something to get it started. Cliff had a purple truck and a unique train horn that everyone could hear when he was out and about. When he was well, he took daily road trips in the purple truck and loved it just about as much as his John Deere 420. He was always willing to help anyone in need. Cliff is survived by his loving wife, Brenda; son, Kevin (Rachiel) Rowley; daughter, Anne (Ed) Bignall; sisters, Carolyn (Bob) Darnell and Lorraine (Ralph) Montgomery; sisters-in-law, Diane Rowley, Charlene (Gene) Face, Kristeen (Chris) Benedict, Janet Beach (Mike Higgs), Barbara Treadway and Beth (Dan) Mills; brothers-in-law, Gene Parks, Albert Hopkins, Roger Beach, Leslie Beach (Kimmy Ryers) and Bob Beach (Melissa Borton); grandchildren, Jadyn Rowley, Lane Bignall, Katelyn Bignall and Ryan Bignall; Several nieces and nephews, and honorary granddaughter, Mallory Wood. He was preceded in death by his parents, in-laws, Beverly and Clarence Beach; brothers, Vern Rowley and Gilbert Rowley; and sisters, Kathryn Parks and Grace Hopkins. A Celebration of Life will be held from 12-3 PM on Saturday, May 7th 2022 at The Ole Orchard 850 N. State Rd Ionia, MI. Memorial Contributions can be made to Cliff’s family. 16, 2022. He was born on December 9, 1932 in Orange Township, Ionia Co. Michigan the son of Max A. and Zelda E. (Riggs) Lanz. He married Marian Lucille Fineout at the First Baptist Church in Portland after graduating together from the Portland High School Class of 1951. They were married for 43 years, Marian passed away in January 1995. Bill began working at Oldsmobile at the age of 18 and continued to become a Gage Inspector Instructor nationwide for General Motors. He retired on March 1, 1988. He later married Millie Jensen and she preceded him in death. Bill enjoyed spending time with his family, attending the First Baptist Church in Portland, fishing, deer hunting with his buddies, playing softball, golfing, gardening, mushroom hunting and walking on the Portland River Trail. He even made several trips to South America assisting his brother, Max Lanz, Jr. with his mission work as well as being a blood donor since 1949. He was also preceded in death by his siblings, Eleanor (Floyd) Potts, Max (Louise) Lanz, Jr., and David Lanz; in-laws, Joseph Gwilt, Charles Tasma, James Cotter and Linda Lanz. Surviving are his children, Phyllis Jean (George) Helm, Phillip Eugene Lanz, Timothy James (Mary Ann) Lanz, and Cynthia Lucille Cotter; 19 grandchildren; 43 great grandchildren; 10 great great grandchildren; siblings, Mary Tasma, Joyce Gwilt, James (Bethel) Lanz and Robert (Loretta) Lanz; many nieces and nephews. Religious services conducted by Pastor Gary Coleman at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, April 21, 2022. Interment followed at Keefer Cemetery in Lyons. The family received friends from 4-7 p.m., Wednesday at the Lehman Funeral Home, 210 E. Bridge St., Portland.
