To deliver the full potential of a passenger Wi-Fi solution in high-density rail environments, a highcapacity Wi-Fi access point is essential. Supporting Wi-Fi 7/6/6E (as well as being backwards compatible with all other earlier Wi-Fi standards), leveraging 4×4 Multi-User (MU) MIMO technology, and capable of utilising all available spectrum across its four radios (1 x 6GHz, 2 x 5GHz, 1 x 2.4GHz), the Icomera A2-e delivers faster Internet speeds and higher volumes of traffic between the onboard router(s) and end user(s), while maintaining ultra-low latency. By distributing all available bandwidth to all connected devices on a vehicle, without creating bottlenecks, the A2-e meets and exceeds the data-heavy requirements of both passengers and rail operators.
Delivering Optimal Performance The A2-e has external antenna connectors and two Ethernet ports. It supports a wide input range via its 24110VDC (EN50155 compliant) DC power supply. The A2-e has an optional bypass relay that ensures that (in daisy-chained topologies) Ethernet traffic can still flow through the access point, even in cases of power failure. Alternatively, the access point can be powered
with PoE via one of its two 10Gbps ports.
Reliable, Ruggedised & Secure Specially built for rail transport applications, the A2-e delivers long-term reliability. It features secure boot as well as WPA3 encryption, and seamlessly integrates with Icomera’s connectivity platform, allowing for remote configuration, software updates and reporting via Icomera’s ICONIC suite of cloud-based tools.
