Head Chef and owner of the award-winning experiential and sustainable F&B company Moreish by K is in residence at InterContinental Maldives from 15 to 17 June 2024. Specialising in a distinctive take on modern Punjab-Persian fusion cuisine with a touch of London, guests can look forward to unique flavours from Dubai’s ‘flavour queen’.

Aside from great cookery, Chef Kunwal Safdar has a heart for Zero-Waste cuisine, adding a sense of purposefulness to her work and company.

Chef Mauro Panebianco has a long-term tenure in a well-known Italian restaurant Cantinetta Antinori in Moscow, a member of the famous Novikov Group. Originally from Italy, he has worked in Milan at the Four Seasons Hotel, at the Relais & Chateaux San Felice in Siena and at Eden in Rome at the famous La Terrazza restaurant; he also managed the opening of the Giorgio Armani restaurant in Munich.

What his creations are all about: He aims to create an emotional journey through an exquisite dining experience through a combination of refined simplicity and flavour.

A British-born chef, honed through classical training and private engagements, launched the acclaimed restaurant Marianne in London’s Notting Hill. Garnering accolades like “Chef of the Year” and “Top Gastronomic Experience,” she’s a familiar face on BBC’s culinary shows. With a penchant for truffles and soufflés, her residency at InterContinental Maldives promises bespoke dishes blending local flair with her world-class expertise. Working alongside the Maamunagau culinary team, she aims to infuse each creation with the Maldives’ stunning natural elements and innovative culinary twists.

UK-born Chef Nelly Robinson joins the resort’s culinary team this September.

No stranger to the critiques of The Guide Michelin and Gault & Millau, Robinson creates mouthwatering dishes with innovation and local hooks in his well- accolated restaurant ‘NEL’ in Sydney. His dishes leave room for imagination and anticipation when innocent names of a dish turn into an explosive culinary journey, not just for the taste buds but also for the eye:

Indulge in Kingfish Firebark, Wildfire Spiced Barramundi, or Chef Nelly’s take on Kedgeree, to name just a few of them, naturally fusing into the ocean-inspired setting. Also, lamb, local lobster and truly interesting vegetarian creations are on his delectable menu set at The Lighthouse.

Guests of Maamunagau Island can look forward to be amazed by some serious sushi art, brought to InterContinental Maldives by Pepi Anevski. Chef Pepi is one of the Sushi Rockstars, being awarded with the title of World Sushi Champion and World’s most creative Sushi Master. He has been making – or rather crafting – Sushi all around the world and is visiting our shores this April.

“Sushi is much more than a food creation. Its more of an art which by understanding and respecting the core products gives you amazing results,” Chef Pepi. During his residency from 2nd to 8th April 2023 Sushi Master Chef Pepi will offer an exciting Sushi focused a la carte menu at Café Umi.
