Solar Legacy

650 East 5080 North Legacy Estates Lot 15 Enoch, UT 84721 The Solar Legacy is designed to take advantage of the cooling and heating that is freely available to us. It uses passive solar and large amounts of thermal mass to essentially eliminate heating and cooling costs, while maintaining the look of a traditional home.

Total Square Footage: 1850 Total Bedrooms: 3 Total Baths: 2 Home Price: 125,000 Lot Price: N/A Home Architect/Plan Designer: Jon Forsyth Marketed By: Stratum Real Estate

Pacific Supply Stock Building Supply Sunroc Western Rock

Everyone has leaned against a sun-warmed masonry wall and felt its warmth and comfort. It takes a while to cool off. That’s thermal mass, which acts to prevent large changes in indoor temperatures, while the outdoor temperatures rise and fall. This well designed home can hold interior temperatures between 68 and 70 degrees. In winter, it absorbs heat by direct sunlight. At night it releases heat, warming the room. In the summer, the thermal mass draws warmth from the surrounding air and cools the room. Passive design is practiced throughout the world and has been shown to produce buildings with low energy costs, reduced maintenance, and superior comfort.

Directions to Home #2 - From Home #1 head West on Nichols Canyon Road 1.0 miles to Main Street. Turn Right (North) on Main Street for 1.1 miles and turn Right at Maverick/Bowling Alley on 3000 North. Jon Forsyth has been building since age 5. Since starting his contracting business in 1994 he has built numerous homes in the Cedar area with many top awards in previous parade of homes. Recently, with the rising coosts of fuels, he is putting a huge emphasis on extremely efficient homes that heat and cool themselves.

The Iron County Home Builders Association is proud to present the 2011 Festival of Homes, where visitors can see the best and most innovative ways available in the building industry today. As you tour the homes, be mindful of the quality work and craftsmanship that went into these homes by being respectful to the contents and other visitors. Be sure to stop at the displays in each garage offering information on the latest products and services available. Tickets are good for one visit per home. You are entitled to revisit one home, but if you want to do more you must buy a new ticket. All children 2 years of age and older must also have a ticket to be admitted into the homes. You may be asked to remove your shoes before entering the homes. Please take your shoes with you so you will not have to return to the entry to reclaim them. Wearing easily removed shoes would be helpful. Visitors enter the homes at their own risk.
