Melia’s journey to success began as an Assistant State Attorney for Miami-Dade County, where she served with distinction from 2006-2013. Melia serves on the South Florida Black Chamber of Commerce board. She has previously served on the Privacy and Cybersecurity board of the Business Roundtable, advocating for national privacy legislation in the US. She has received numerous awards and honors, including the prestigious Legal Leader Award, which recognizes her as an exceptional legal professional and leader in the field.

Melia founded the Sistrunk Technology Hub Nonprofit, which trains, educates, and equips teens and young adults in underserved communities in the areas of entrepreneurship, technology, digital media, privacy, and cybersecurity. Her crowning achievement is to serve as a wife, mother, and woman of faith, an ordained pastor, and her faith is central to all she does.

Katie Boston-Leary

Director of Nursing Programs and Healthy Nurse, Healthy Nation American Nurse Association

Katie Boston-Leary is the Director of Nursing Programs at the American Nurses Association overseeing the Nursing Practice and Work Environment Division and Healthy Nurse Healthy Nation. She is the Co-Lead for Project Firstline, collaborating with the CDC on Infection Prevention and Control. Katie is the co-chair of the DEI committee for the Healthcare Leaders Network Delaware Valley, an ACHE affiliate.

Katie is an Adjunct Professor at the University of Maryland School of Nursing and the School of Nursing at Case Western Reserve University. She is a St. John’s University Health Programs board member and an editorial advisory board member with Web/MD Medscape and ACHE. Katie serves as staff on the National Commission to Address Racism in Nursing. She is also part of the National Academy of Science and Medicine’s National Plan to Address Clinician Well-Being, supported by the U.S. Surgeon General. Katie also leads as an ANA representative with four partner organizations to organize a National Nurse Staffing Think Tank and Task Force, which published short and long-term recommendations to address the nurse staffing crisis.

Health Leaders Journal identified her in August 2019 as “One of Five Chief Nursing Officers Changing Healthcare.” Her recent research was a qualitative study on nurses’ perceptions of power dynamics in the hospital setting. She completed her Ph.D. at Walden University in Health Services, obtained a dual degree MBA and MHA from the University of Maryland Global Campus, and her bachelor’s degree in nursing from Bowie State University. She is a board-certified Nurse Executive and obtained a nurse executive leadership certificate from the Wharton School of Business. She has been interviewed for stories in numerous print, online, and televised media outlets. She has written and co-authored numerous articles on staffing, diversity, and leadership. She was recently featured on NBC’s Today Show to discuss the nurse staffing crisis that is impacting healthcare delivery.

Born and raised in Newark, New Jersey, Leah was educated in public schools. She earned her Master’s Degree in Public Administration and a Bachelor’s Degree in nursing from Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey.

Leah’s career spans over thirty-six years, with exceptional leadership in various healthcare settings. She joined the Memorial Healthcare System in 2002, where she held the position of Chief Nursing Officer at two of their facilities and Chief Executive Officer at three of their facilities. Leah’s most recent appointment was in May 2021, when she was promoted to Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer for the entire system.

Before joining the Memorial Healthcare System, Leah served as Chief Nursing Officer at North Shore Medical Center in Miami. Before moving to South Florida, she held various clinical and leadership positions at Saint Barnabus, Beth Israel, and St. Clare’s Medical Centers.

Dillard became the Palm Beach County Office of Inspector General’s General Counsel in 2015 and General Counsel & Deputy Inspector General in 2017. After graduating from Clemson University and the Florida State University College of Law, she clerked at the 4th District Court of Appeal. After that, she practiced civil litigation at private law firms and worked for the School District of Palm Beach County

She is a devoted wife to Byron and a loving mother to Kadyn. She enjoys serving the community. She is Vice President of the Forum Club of the Palm Beaches and Co-Chair of the PBC Bar Association’s Professionalism Committee. She is a Diamond Life Member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., and an alumnus of Leadership PBC and Leadership Florida Cornerstone- Class 39.

East is a clinical psychotherapist, licensed mental health counselor, life-purpose coach, motivational speaker, and author. She is the founding CEO of SMILE Psychology and Associates, LLC and Sapphire Woman Pathways organization, and both allow Dr. East to share her dedication to helping others reach their highest potential. SMILE Psychology and Associates is a clinical wellness spa that uses therapeutic services to provide counseling, massage, body therapy, and emotional detox for all. Sapphire Woman Pathways supports women impacted by incarceration by providing re-entry support and guiding them through healing painful wounds from the past, building confidence and self-efficacy, and gaining strength by providing pathways of education, therapy, and civic engagement.

Dr. East is also a popular and respected psychology professor for over a decade. She earned her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the University of Central Florida and her Master of Arts in Mental Health Counseling from Argosy University. Patricia (Pat) Golden Webb is a boardlevel executive currently serving as a board member for Telecare Corporation.

She formerly served as senior executive vice president and chief administrative officer for Chicago-based CommonSpirit Health. CommonSpirit, the merged entity of Catholic Health Initiatives (CHI) and Dignity Health, encompasses 800+ care locations, more than 150,000 employees, and $29.2 billion in revenue. Before transitioning out of her corporate roles, Webb co-led CommonSpirit’s transformation and national integration efforts.

She previously served as executive vice president, chief administrative officer, and chief HR officer for Catholic Health Initiatives. During her nine-year tenure with CHI, Webb led the dual functions of administration and human resources, which encompassed the company’s entire operations.

Webb previously served as the Chief HR Officer at UMass Memorial Health Care and Boston Medical Center, respectively, where she addressed similar challenges bringing two different health systems together into a single entity.

She is the former board chair for Centura Health, a multi-billiondollar regional healthcare system serving Colorado and Kansas. She also previously served as board chair for the CHI Foundation and board member for the Mercy One Health System, which serves Iowa. Webb is a fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives (ACHE) and formerly served as president of the National Association of Health Services Executives (NAHSE.)

In April 2018, named Webb one of the country’s most influential black executives, and In July 2019, one of the country’s most influential women in corporate America. She has a B.S. degree in Marketing and Management from Florida A&M University and a master’s degree in Business and HR Management from University of North Florida.

Daniela Jean

Commissioner City of North Miami Beach

NORTH MIAMI BEACH, FL

Daniela Jean is the first black woman to serve in her elected seat, Group 3 of the City of North Miami Beach Commission. She is also the youngest woman serving on the City of North Miami Beach commission. She is the daughter of Haitian immigrants and was born in Paris, France, and was raised in North Miami Beach. She is a social strategist, mentor, speaker, and fivetime author.

Commissioner Jean has pushed for more resources to be available to business owners and has found community partners to aid in educating the public on readily available resources. She serves as a liaison on the redevelopment board of the City. She sponsored the City’s first education compact.

Daniela graduated from Barry University with a Bachelor’s in Biology and earned her Master’s in Global Strategic Communications at Florida International University. She has eight years of experience working in local government and is now an adjunct professor at Miami Dade College.

A few years after working in Dementia/Alzheimer’s units, she became the Nurse Manager, and shortly afterward, she became the Director of Alzheimer’s.

Oremeyi has a wide range of experience in leadership. She served two terms as the first female president of the African Christian Fellowship, Louisville chapter, ACF Inc; before her second term was up, she was nominated and elected to serve as the first female president on the regional level. She served two terms in that regional capacity.

As a TEDx and inspirational speaker, she motivates people to tell their stories.

She serves as the Executive Director for Kentuckiana Africans United (KAU), an organization of Africans living in Kentucky and Southern Indiana. The organization is focused on economic empowerment, education, healthcare access, community service, and networking within the local African community.
