ADVISORY BOARD
INTRODUCTION
This document outlines the roles and responsibilities of the advisory board members for Black Professionals Month. The advisory board plays a crucial role in guiding the direction of events, ensuring the representation of diverse voices, and upholding the mission to empower and celebrate Black professionals across various industries. We will look to members for advice and active support to enhance the successful development and execution of Black Professionals Month.
OVERVIEW
Members are expected to activate your expertise, network and resources to assist ICABA effectively plan and execute Black Professionals Month with excellence. You will be part of a team of advisors and ICABA intentionally and sincerely ask our advisors to engage in the way they feel most comfortable. In respect for your time, we ask members to identify ONE THING you can uniquely contribute to our success. We will collaborate with you on your ONE THING to make it as easy and fulfilling as possible for you to accomplish your ONE THING.
AREAS OF FOCUS & IMPACT
• Nominate professionals for BPM Global 100 Leading Black Professionals Awards
• Nominate entrepreneurs for Best of Black-Owned Business Global 100 Awards Best of Black-Owned Business Awards.
• Nominate professional organizations for Black Professionals Month Organization Spotlight during BPM Support Black Professional Organizations Week.
• Recommend Speakers for events.
• Introduce ICABA to individuals, organizations or companies for potential collaboration and/or support and sponsorship.
• Act as am ambassador for BPM by generating awareness and engagement for BPM by sharing social media posts, press releases and other marketing with your network and circle of influence
• Provide expertise and insights relevant to your area(s) of specialization.
MEMBERSHIP
• The advisory board shall consist of distinguished professionals from various sectors worldwide who are committed to the advancement of Black professionals
• Members are asked to serve for a minimum of one year, with the possibility of renewal.
MEETINGS
Advisory Board meetings are held monthly on the second Tuesday of the month at 12:00 pm ET (Note: members are global, and our meeting time takes this into consideration). Please participate actively in meetings and contribute valuable insights to sharpen the strategic direction of Black Professionals Month.
BENEFITS
• Complimentary ICABA Leader membership for one year ($595 value)
• Advisory Board member recognition in Black Professionals Month Publication
• Advisory Board member recognition on Black Professionals Month website
• One (1) Complimentary VIP admission to all BPM events
• Revenue share for members assisting ICABA with securing any sponsorship as follows:
o 10% net revenue share collected from any “sponsor referrals” (e.g. provide ICABA with prospective company and key contact info including email and phone number for ICABA to approach)
o 20% net revenue share collected from any “sponsor introductions” (member provides direct introduction to company and key contact via email, conference phone call or virtual meeting)
o 30% net revenue share collected from any “closed sponsor” (member pitches and secures sponsorship)
• Receive a 20% discount on Black Professionals Month sponsorship placed by a member for themselves/their organization
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES
• Activate your ICABA® Leader membership timely.
• Provide permission for Black Professionals Month to publicly identify you as a member of the Advisory Board and utilize your image in its marketing materials in print, online and broadcast radio and TV. (see example below)
