It is with great pleasure and pride that I present to you our 2024–2025 Annual Report, which showcases a host of remarkable achievements underscoring International College’s unwavering commitment to excellence.
Amid the very real challenges that Lebanon has endured over the past five years, IC continues not only to remain financially resilient but also to thrive academically. Our students are earning admission to a distinguished array of colleges and universities both regionally and worldwide—a testament to their hard work and our sustained educational standards.
I am pleased to report that our accreditation review, conducted this year by New England Association of Schools and Colleges (NEASC) and Council of International Schools (CIS), yielded outstanding results. We received special commendation for the caliber of teaching and the strength of our financial stewardship.
To further enhance academic excellence, we welcomed three highly professional and dedicated Directors of Curriculum and Instruction, each overseeing one of our language programs. Working closely with our principals, they have already begun elevating the implementation of the Danielson Framework for Learning—an initiative that continues to be central to enriching both instruction and student outcomes across the school.
In recognition of the importance of student wellbeing, we launched The Power of Zero, our new anti-bullying initiative. This program is designed to cultivate a safer, more compassionate campus environment, and I am confident it will further foster progress in our school culture.
Our commitment to innovation continues with the STEAM Innovation Center—another signature IC offering. This remarkable facility provides middle and high school students with hands-on experience in robotics, drone construction, and 3-D printing. Already, many students are graduating with a degree in design technology—preparing them for future success in an increasingly tech-driven world.
Extending our civic engagement beyond campus, we introduced an outreach program supporting seven public schools across Lebanon. Endorsed by the Ministry of Education, this initiative blends teaching assistance with advanced technology tools, representing a significant expansion of IC’s educational impact within our broader community.
Supporting access to quality education remains a priority. I am delighted to share that our scholarship program has grown once more, and we are now able to assist over 600 students through financial aid—ensuring that deserving learners continue to thrive within our inclusive community.
On the infrastructure front, the newly opened gymnasium at Ain Aar stands as a very positive development for that campus and an architectural gem. This follows completion last year of the comprehensive renovation of our preschool facility at Ras Beirut. Moreover, we have commenced an agreement to update our master plan, ensuring IC’s facilities remain attractive, modern, and aligned with our longterm vision.

Every year, International College relies on the support of the Annual Fund from its alumni, parents, trustees and friends. As is the case with many independent schools, tuition fees at IC does not cover full operating costs. Programs which give IC that margin of excellence have to be funded elsewhere, namely through private contributions to the Annual Fund. The Annual Fund is made up of yearly gifts that go directly into the operating budget and are earmarked for school enhancements including financial aid, faculty development, facility improvement and student extracurricular programs.

Established in 2019, the Ali Ghandour Center (AGC) for Leadership and Civic Engagement (AGC) marks the first community-based learning center of its kind at the secondary school level in the region. Jointly funded by IC and the Ghandour family -Raghida, Amal and Fadi Ghandour- the AGC offers an intensive leadership and dynamic citizenship program through a Community Engaged Learning (CEL) model. Spread over three years, starting with the 10th grade, the program mentors students through a sequenced journey, beginning with extensive volunteering with an array of grassroots organizations and culminating with students leading Community Service Projects (CSPs).
EXISTING ENDOWMENT FUNDS
Gifts to the Endowment Funds create a principal that left intact will provide interest earnings on that principal. This interest provides capital for designated purposes such as scholarships, financial aid, special projects and ongoing support to the school. Donations may be made to any endowed fund in honor or in memory of a loved one or special person. A gift to an endowment fund is truly one gift that “keeps on giving”.
