Scholarship Opportunities & SAT Tutoring
IBEW Local 103 is proud to announce the following scholarships:
IBEW Local 103 (Awarded by Local 103 through the Massachusetts AFL-CIO Exam)
◦Ten (10) $10,000 Scholarships - Five Scholarships are awarded to 5 daughters and five are awarded to 5 sons of
Local 103 members. ◦ Applications must be submitted online no later than
Friday, December 17, 2021. The applications, study guide and interactive website will be available at MassAFLCIO. org/scholarships. ◦ Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, this year’s Labor History
Exam will be offered on a staggered schedule. Exams will be online, and can be administered between Monday,
January 31, 2022, and Friday, February 4, 2022. Schools will administer the exam online within the timeframe provided. Students must check with their school’s exam proctor for testing time and location. Students can get further information by speaking with the guidance department regarding the Massachusetts AFL-CIO

Union Plus Scholarship
The scholarship program is open to students (members, spouses and their dependent children) attending or planning to attend a U.S. accredited college, university, community college, technical or trade school at the time the award is issued. Students may re-apply each year.
◦Applicants for scholarships are evaluated according to academic ability, social awareness, financial need and appreciation of labor. ◦ The amount of the award ranges from $500-$4,000. This is a one-time cash award sent to individual winners for study beginning in the fall of the same year. ◦ Applications: UnionPlus.org/benefits/education/unionplus-scholarships ◦ Applications must be received by 12:00 p.m. on January 31, 2022. Winners will be notified by May 31.
IBEW Founders’ Scholarship
The IBEW Founders’ Scholarship is for IBEW Members only, not for spouses or children, who have been in continuous good standing for the four years preceding May 1 of the scholarship year. Please visit IBEW.org/FoundersScholarship for more information.

SAT Tutoring – Kaplan
IBEW Local 103 will again be offering the SAT Tutoring Classes, administered by Kaplan Test Prep & Admissions for college-bound students, to Juniors and Seniors who are children of Local 103 members. This year, all classes will be conducted virtually. Schedule is subject to change. Space is limited in the program and reservations will be accepted on a first-come/first-served basis.
