Find your niche and make a difference

A

s one exciting year ends and we embark on a new one, the promise of what’s to come can be so energizing.

It’s a time to reflect on both the past and present what did we accomplish last year? What goals did we set for ourselves and how did we rise to the challenge? How do these experiences shape our goals for 2019? As you take stock of what you’ve done and what you want to achieve both personally and professionally, I encourage you to make a commitment that nurtures both – get involved!

I first got involved with the Greater Charlotte Apartment Association nine years ago when I decided to pursue my CAM credential. In those classes, I had the privilege of learning from so many great leaders in the Association and met several industry professionals that I’ve built lasting relationships with. That experience really motivated me to get involved with the organization not only to learn and grow as a professional, but also to build confidence and expand my network – and what a network it is! Throughout all the committees, board appointments, seminars, dinner meetings and events, I have met and established relationships with so many of the incredible people that embody our membership. What an enriching experience it has been to learn from each of you, build partnerships, and most importantly, make great new friends.

GCAA events know we are all about having FUN! Attend one of our general meetings and dinners scheduled throughout the year. Make plans with your coworkers to attend one of the Holly Casper many social outings organized by our YAPs to boost overall engagement from your company as well.

Whatever you choose, commit to it and make it count in 2019! I promise that a year from now, when once more it is time to reflect on where you’ve been and where you’re going, you will count your time with GCAA as a professional and personal success. You, the Association, your company and our multifamily community will all be better for it.

As a parting note, I also challenge you to keep the momentum going and get your colleagues involved. Remember that if your organization is a member, all of you are members. Find your niche and make a difference! I look forward to continuing this journey with each and every one of you.

I value each of these experiences that have enabled me to now serve you as President of the Association, and now challenge you to add "getting more involved with the GCAA" to your 2019 goal-setting plans! There are so many great ways to accomplish this and have fun while doing so. Some opportunities include:

From the Membership Committee who works so hard to grow our network, to the Green Committee dedicated to leveraging the latest trends and opportunities in sustainable, environmentally-conscious industry practices, there is truly something for everybody!

Get to know GCAA’s 2019 Board Members PRESIDENT - HOLLY CASPER • RKW RESIDENTIAL Holly Casper is the Sr. Vice President for RKW Residential, a Multifamily Management firm. She is responsible for overall property operations, execution of corporate strategy and business development. Holly has served as a GCAA Board Member for five years and on the Bus Tour Committee for two years. Holly holds a BS in Fashion Merchandising from the University of Maryland as well as the Certified Apartment Manager and Certified Apartment Portfolio Supervisor credentials through the NAAEI. On a personal note, Holly has lived in Charlotte for 16 years where she met her husband, Brian. In her free time, she is busy exploring all that Charlotte has to offer, spending time at the beach, and walking her two Dachshunds, Oscar and Lucy.

VICE PRESIDENT - DARLINE COBB • GINKGO RESIDENTIAL Darline Cobb joined Ginkgo Residential in 1998 as an Accounting Assistant and is currently the Director of Training and Development. She has won various service awards from Ginkgo Residential including the Brass Award in 1999, the BEST Award in 2007 and Ginkgo Executive Award in 2018. She also oversees the Ginkgo T.R.A.I.N program to ensure all their associates are equipped with resources and tools to be successful. Darline received her Associates Degree in Business Administration in 1994 from Gaston College and holds a NC Notary Public license. She has been an active member of the GCAA since 2009, has served as Board Treasurer (2018), GCAA Executive Director Search Committee (2018), Multifamily Career Awareness Subcommittee (2018), Membership and Outreach Committees where she has served as Chair of Outreach in 2013 and 2014, and was named Support Team Member of the Year in 2009 and Volunteer of the Year in 2013. Darline has served as a GCAA Board Member for seven years. She enjoys traveling, spending time with her family and friends, and giving back to the community. She remains enthusiastically engaged in various social and volunteer organizations and is looking forward to continuing her term on the GCAA Board of Directors and volunteering through the Association.

SECRETARY- CEL THOMPSON • READY FITNESS As project manager for Ready Fitness, Cel works closely with clients to create a fitness space which includes designing a layout, choosing equipment, providing service and overseeing each project from start to finish. She brings over 15 years of experience in the fitness industry as a fitness coach, personal trainer, and competitor. This combined with her 10 years of sales experience is what has helped her build out a territory for Ready Fitness.

Her love for fitness and community is evident. Cel currently serves as an active board member for the Charlotte Chamber's Healthy Charlotte initiative and is a co-lead for the collaboration team. She recently concluded her term as the President of the Products Service Council. Fitness is Cel's passion and carries over into every aspect of her life. She is the fitness trainer for the Charlotte Hornets Honeybees. Her most recent personal achievement was placing 3rd in the Fitness America World Championships Pro Division held in Las Vegas, NV. All of this contributes to her overall goal to serve her community, motivate and inspire others.

TREASURER - JOHN SCOTT TROTTER • CHARTER PROPERTIES John Scott Trotter started with Charter Properties Inc. (CPI) in early 2016 as Vice President of Acquisitions and Dispositions and became a Partner in 2017. He helps manage the firm’s capital markets activities, including future acquisitions and asset sales, as well as developing and maintaining CPI’s financing relationships. Prior to CPI, he was Managing Principal of Blue Heron Capital, a real estate private equity firm in Charlotte which he co-founded in 2009. Earlier in his career, he was a member of the Real Estate and Lodging Investment Banking Group at J.P. Morgan in New York, NY. John Scott has held various leadership roles in the GCAA, ULI, and the First Tee of Greater Charlotte. He holds BA degrees in Economics and in Spanish from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and an MBA from UNC’s Kenan-Flagler Business School. He is a graduate of both Leadership Charlotte and the GCAA’s Leadership Lyceum program. In addition, he is a licensed real estate broker in NC and SC. John Scott and his wife Katie are the proud parents of three girls: Rosie (9), Louisa (7) and Boo (3). He enjoys spending time with his family, as well as playing golf, fishing and traveling.

IMMEDIATE PAST PRESIDENT - JENNINGS SNIDER • SYNCO PROPERTIES Jennings is the Chief Financial Officer for SYNCO Properties. In his role as CFO he serves as the company’s Director of Reporting & Analysis and Senior Investment Officer. Prior to joining SYNCO in 2006, Jennings spent nearly two years as a financial analyst with Bank of America in their real estate finance group. Jennings holds a Bachelor of Arts and Science degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where he graduated Summa Cum Laude and was a member of the Phi Beta Kappa National Honor Society. GABRIELLE BOUKNIGHT • HHHUNT Gabrielle Bouknight joined HHHunt in 1997 and is currently the Assistant Director of Training and Development for their Apartment Living Division. Gabrielle earned her CAPS designation in 2017, and in 2018 received her NAAEI Advanced Facilitator Certification. Since moving to the area in 2015 from Beaufort, SC, Gabrielle has been an active member of the GCAA. She is a 2017 graduate of the GCAA’s Leadership Lyceum Program, and has been a member of its steering committee since 2015, including chairing this committee in 2018. In her spare time, Gabrielle enjoys traveling, spending time outdoors with her husband, Marvin, and their little Yorkie, Peanut, and riding rollercoasters!

BRIAN BRAND • RENT READY A Charlotte native, Brian is the City Lead for the Charlotte Rent Ready team. He has been involved in the Association since 2011, serving as a volunteer on multiple committees including Membership, Outreach, PSC and Programs. A 2013 Lyceum graduate, he joined the GCAA Board of Directors in 2017 and has served as Co-Chair of the Young Apartment Professionals (2017, 2018). In 2018, he also served as Secretary of the Products and Services Council. He Graduated from Auburn University in 2000 with a Bachelor of Arts, Criminal Justice. At Auburn he served as a member of Sigma Pi fraternity, and was on the Lacrosse team. Brian lives in South Charlotte with his children Morgan and Henry. He loves all things sports and outdoors, including watching Henry play lacrosse, and Morgan do gymnastics. In his free time, he enjoys golf, camping, and spending time at the beach.

JANET BRINKLEY • HD SUPPLY FACILITIES MAINTENANCE Janet Brinkley is a National Account Manager with HD Supply and a 34+ year veteran of the Multifamily Industry.

She was born on a Naval base in the Philippines and, as a true Navy Brat, went to 10 schools in 12 years. She started her career in Texas in 1984, eventually moving to Charlotte in late 2001. She has been an active member and contributor with the GCAA since 2003 and has previously served on the GCAA Board, both as a board member and officer, chairing many committees along the way. Janet has also volunteered with the League of Women Voters and has served as President of the Charlotte chapter. When she’s not spending time with her three grown children, Janet enjoys traveling, especially to Jamaica, where she hopes to retire someday and spend time at the beach.

JONATHAN CHEVILLE • GREYSTAR Jonathan began his journey in the multifamily industry in 2010 and currently serves as Service Supervisor for Greaystar Real Estate Partners. Throughout his career, Jonathan has played a variety of roles on both the owner/operator and vendor sides of the industry. He serves on numerous committees focusing on education, housing affordability, and local civics. He is proud to have served as a volunteer. He is proud to have served as an instructor for the GCAA, and is a Leadership Lyceum graduate. He is honored to be a member of the Board of Directors of the Greater Charlotte Apartment Association. Jonathan is, and always strives to be, known for his passionate promotion of education, integrity in business, and the advancement of the industry that he has come to love.

JOHN DEMARIO • RKW RESIDENTIAL John DeMario is a Regional Manager for RKW Residential overseeing operations for a portfolio of communities throughout the Carolinas and Virginia. He brings over 17 years of experience in the multifamily industry and has worked with senior, mixed-income, affordable, LIHTC and conventional housing communities. Prior to joining RKW, John was a Regional Director for WRH Realty where he provided guidance to a portfolio of managers and worked closely with asset managers to implement operational strategies and ensure financial performance. John has a proven track record of success and superior leadership skills. .He earned a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and has received many awards and certifications. John holds a Housing Credit Certified Professional accreditation and is a graduate of the Greater Charlotte Apartment Association’s Leadership Lyceum program.

MICHAEL GOSSELIN • CHARLOTTE HOUSING AUTHORITY Michael Gosselin joined the CHA team in January 2017 as the Executive Vice President of Real Estate Management. As the Executive Vice President of Real Estate Management, he is responsible for directing and executing CHA’s management business plans, administration and supervision of departments, programs, and projects with a focus on strategic planning and long-term sustainability. Michael has more than 20 years of experience in the private sector of affordable housing managing a wide diversity of affordable and market programs. Prior to joining CHA, he worked as a Regional Manager for Massachusetts for Related Affordable Management overseeing all financial and administrative operations of affordable properties in the State. Michael helped develop a newly-created asset management department while serving as an asset manager for Winn Management in Boston. Prior to that, he was a Regional Director for a Los Angeles-based management company overseeing the operations for properties in multiple states throughout the southeast. He received his B.S from Northeastern University in criminal justice and private security law and his MBA with a focus in Financing from Grand Canyon University. Michael is a U.S Navy veteran and worked for Naval Intelligence in the European and Middle-Eastern theatre while serving in Desert Storm. Michael is a Massachusetts native where he has spent most of his life..

board of directors board of directors KATE IRVING JARRELL • NORTHWOOD RAVIN After a ten-year career in fashion retail and sales management, Kate Irving Jarrell joined the multi-family industry in 2012.

Having held several titles from leasing associate to regional marketing director, Kate is now the Director of Marketing for Northwood Ravin, a development, construction & management firm based out of Charlotte, North Carolina. At Northwood Ravin, Kate is responsible for creating and executing marketing campaigns for NWR’s portfolio of stabilized, lease-up and development communities across the Southeast and Mid Atlantic. Her team focuses on digital marketing, web content, branding and advertising, social media and continuing to promote Northwood Ravin’s signature communities through events and submarket involvement. Moving forward, Kate will continue to shape the multi-family industry as well as the marketing field at-large using her unique fusion of creativity and innovation. She is a NALP and CAM designate, an educator for the Greater Charlotte Apartment Association, a part-time blogger and a full-time Instagrammer.

NICOLE KENNEDY • APARTMENTS.COM NETWORK As a graduate of College of Charleston, Nicole Kennedy has been in the Multifamily Industry for just over 19 years, working for various vendor partners in the Southeast and Cincinnati. She has worked throughout South Carolina, Georgia, Ohio, and is now located in Charlotte NC, as the Regional Director, Multifamily, for Costar Group. She currently covers seven markets for Apartments.com including Charlotte, Asheville and all of South Carolina. Nicole has managed and developed various size sales team throughout her career as well as serving on Apartment Association Boards in several markets. She has been newly appointed to the Board of Directors for the Charlotte Apartment Association for 2019. She is an avid animal lover with two dogs at home and enjoys traveling to new places. When she is at home, you can find her spending time with friends or at the local Orangetheroy Studio.

CHRIS LOEBSACK • LOEBSACK & BROWNLEE, PLLC Chris is a Partner in the law firm Caudle and Spears, P.A., and is also the founder and Managing Partner of the law firm Loebsack & Brownlee, PLLC. Chris is a 1996 graduate of Duke University School of Law (J.D.) and a 1993 graduate of Clemson University (B.S.). He has been a resident of Gastonia and Charlotte since graduating law school in 1996. He has two sons, Joseph and Thomas. Chris’ legal practice focuses primarily on representing national Multifamily & Single Family Operator property management firms, but he regularly handles construction law and commercial litigation matters, as well. Also, Chris is a Certified Mediator who regularly mediates Business and Construction Litigation cases for other attorneys. In 2013, Chris was named a member of NC’s “Legal Elite” by Business NC magazine in the area of Business Litigation. In 2016, Chris was named to the NC Super Lawyers list in the area of Business Litigation and in 2017 and 2018, he was honored to make the list in the area of General Litigation. He was recently appointed to the Board of Directors of the Apartment Association of NC; has been a member of the GCAA Board since 2017; is currently the President of the Board of Directors for Charlotte Preparatory School; and has been a member of the Humanities Advancement Board of Clemson University since 2015.

LYNN RAMSEY • WEINSTEIN PROPERTIES Lynn is a Regional Property Director for Weinstein Properties. She began her career in the apartment industry during college and now oversees 2,605 units in the Charlotte region. Lynn is a graduate of UNCC, holds a NC RE Broker license, and has earned both the CAM & CAPS Credentials. Previously, she has served on the GCAA Board of Directors (including Treasurer and Secretary offices), Programs, Government Affairs, and Public Relations committees, and chaired The Outreach Committee for 2 consecutive years and then again most recently in 2018. She is a graduate of both the GCAA and AANC Leadership Lyceum Programs. In her spare time, Lynn is an avid runner and enjoys the competition of 5ks, 10ks, and half marathons. She is also actively involved in volunteer efforts at Moore Place, Urban Ministry Center, Samaritan House and The Relatives.

MIKE RINALDO • NEW HORIZONS UNLIMITED ENTERTAINMENT Mike Rinaldo has been in the industry since 1998. He received his CAM designation in 1999, CAPS in 2016 and his Advanced Instructor Certification in 2007. Mike has been very active with the GCAA over the years. He is a returning board member, was Chairman of the Green Committee (2012-13), Chairman of the Education Advisory Council (2015-16), President of the GCAA Education Foundation (2015-16) and Chairman of the Government Affairs Committee (2018). Mike has been an active instructor with the GCAA having taught CAM and NALP classes in addition to the yearly offering of the Leasing Essentials class. Mike won the GCAA Volunteer of the Year award in 2008 and was our Instructor of the Year in 2013. He currently owns New Horizons Unlimited Entertainment, specializing in DJ service and photography, and teaches Tae Kwon Do at his school in Belmont.

WENDY SIKORSKI • GCI RESIDENTIAL, LLC Wendy is a Regional Manager with GCI Residential. She has a BS in Business Administrative with a concentration in Small Business Management/Entrepreneurship, and a Graduate Certificate of Teaching from UNCC. Wendy worked in related industries such as Real Estate and Mortgages prior to finding her forever home with GCI Residential in 2010. She oversees communities in South Charlotte, Fort Mill and Mount Pleasant SC. Due to the extensive growth GCI has experienced as an owner/management company, she has successfully completed four lease-ups within the last five years. Wendy holds her SC Property Managers License and is a graduate of the 2017 Leadership Lyceum program. She has served on GCAA Committees including Membership, Bus Tour and Programs. She has a passion for building people and teams to achieve new and higher goals for the company and for themselves. MICHELLE SMITH, CAS • EDL Michelle Smith, CAS is Co-Owner of Environmental Design Landscape Inc. Michelle manages and oversees all aspects of business development within the company. Michelle began her career in the apartment industry five years ago leaving a professional career as a musician. Michelle holds the CAS, Certified Apartment Supplier, designation. Her GCAA involvement includes: Leadership Lyceum Graduate (Class of 2017), Membership Committee Chair (2018 & 2019), GCAA Ambassador, and Products and Services Council. RUSSELL TINDALL • SOUTHWOOD REALTY Russell Tindall is the Director of Operations for Southwood Realty which is based in Gastonia, NC. He earned his CAPS designation in 2013, and was also on the curriculum committee for the Gaston College Apartment and Building Maintenance program which was started in early 2017. MICHAEL TUBRIDY • CRESCENT COMMUNITIES With 13 years of commercial real estate experience, Michael has been responsible for leading over $1 billion in multifamily and mixed-use development projects throughout the Southeast and Mid-Atlantic. Since joining Crescent Communities in 2013, Michael has led the predevelopment and entitlement of over 2,500 units in the Charlotte and Nashville markets and is currently responsible for sourcing, designing and executing new multifamily and mixed-use developments throughout the Carolinas. Prior to joining Crescent, Michael served as the Vice President of Development for Aimco, a national apartment REIT, where he led the Southeast Region’s multifamily redevelopment and repositioning efforts. Michael is an active member of the Urban Land Institute (Regional Initiative Council), National Multi Housing Council (Emerging Leaders Committee) and sits on the Board of Directors of the Greater Charlotte Apartment Association and Classroom Central. Michael graduated from the University of Richmond with a degree in business administration and holds a Master of Business Administration from the Kenan-Flagler Business School at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.

DEIDRE WILSON, CAM, CAPS • BLUE RIDGE COMPANIES As a Regional Manager, Deidre is responsible for the management of over 1,200 apartment units in Blue Ridge communities located across North and South Carolina. Deidre has been in the property management industry since 1996 and has been with Blue Ridge Companies since 2005. Previously serving as a Community Manager at multiple communities, Deidre offers extensive knowledge of the markets that are included in her territory. In addition, Deidre has experience as a Senior Manager and Mentor and has actively assisted in the development and growth of new Blue Ridge associates during her time with the company. A licensed South Carolina Property Manager, Deidre also holds CAM and CAPS Credentials from the National Apartment Association.

BRIANNA WOOD • GINKGO RESIDENTIAL Brianna Wood started out as a leasing agent in 2004 working her way up from Assistant Manager to Manager and now Project Manager with Ginkgo Residential. In 2005, Brianna earned her CAM designation from NAA and in 2015, became a graduate of the Leadership Lyceum program through the GCAA. Brianna has been an active member on the GCAA Membership Committee since 2014 and on the Bus Tour Committee since 2015. She has been instrumental in organizing the rehab tour from the beginning in 2015 through 2018. Brianna is originally from Billings, MT and attended college at North Dakota State University. Together, Brianna and her husband, Bob, have three children: Ashley, Nash and Graycin. In her spare time, she loves traveling and spending time with friends and family.

MARYAM ZELEDON • S.L. NUSBAUM REALTY CO. Maryam Zeledon joined S.L. Nusbaum Realty Company in 2007. As a Regional Property Manager, she oversees all aspects of operations for a portfolio of apartment communities in the Southeast Region. She has 15 years of property management experience, having worked with Marsh Properties previously, among other property management companies. Maryam holds a CAM designation, is a graduate of the GCAA Leadership Lyceum program and has co-chaired the Green committee at the GCAA as well as served on other committees within the GCAA.

Meet this year’s GCAA staff Kim Graham, Executive Director kim@greatercaa.org; phone x108 Kim Graham joined the Greater Charlotte Apartment Association on December 1, 2018. Prior to joining the GCAA, Kim was the Senior Vice President of Outreach and Fund Development for the Charlotte Mecklenburg Housing Partnership and previously served the Partnership as Vice President for Community Engagement. Earlier, Kim was a Regional Program Manager for the North Carolina Parent Teachers Association. Her other professional roles include serving as Public Policy Manager for the United Way of Central Carolinas and a Project Manager for Greer & Walker. Kim began her career at Arthur Andersen as a Project Manager and Audit Staffing Coordinator. She went on to establish her own training firm, as well as a tax solutions firm prior to joining Greer & Walker.

A Philadelphia native, Kim holds a Masters of Public Administration in Urban Management and Policy from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte and a B.A. from Johnson C. Smith University.

She is charged with handling all of the GCAA’s publications, marketing and digital communications projects, including the GCAA website, the Apartment Times magazine, marketing collateral, broadcast email and social media. Erica’s professional experience includes graphic design and digital marketing for the National MS Society along with marketing and communications for a National Franchise. She holds her B.A. degree in Communications from East Carolina University and an Associates Degree in Graphic Design. Erica is always planning her next adventure...which in 2019 is her wedding!

Stacie holds a B.A. degree in Communication Studies from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. In her present role as Financial Manager, Fran oversees the accounting functions of both the GCAA and the GCAA Education Foundation, including invoicing, accounts receivable and payable. Fran’s previous experience includes a real estate evaluation and accounting position with Meineke Car Care Specialists and customer service provider at the YMCA.

Daniel Sircy, Career Development & Member Services Director daniel@greatercaa.org; phone x103 Daniel is originally from Nashville, Tennessee and prior to moving to North Carolina, he was the Director of Education and Events at the Greater Nashville Apartment Association from Feb 2013 to Aug 2017. His responsibilities at the GCAA as Career Development & Member Services Director include overseeing and coordinating all NAAEI Professional Credential programs (NALP, CAM, CAMT, CAPS, and CAS) as well as promoting apartment management as a career to area high school, college, and university students. Daniel is responsible for recruiting and retaining members as well as creating meaningful member experiences. Daniel also serves as the staff liaison to the Education Advisory Council, Membership Committee, GCAA Education Foundation, GCAA Ambassador Program and the Young Apartment Professionals Committee.

Keeping Charlotte Beautiful GCAA Adopt-a-Stream!

Members of the GCAA Green Committee have adopted a stretch of the Little Sugar Creek tributary, and participate in semi-annual litter pick-up canvassing, armed with hip boots, gloves, grabbers, and plastic bags. Usually 4 or 5 GCAA volunteers partake. The geography of the tributary is an area generally surrounding Myers Park High School, and this signage can be seen on Runnymede Drive just west of Barclay Downs Drive. The purpose is to keep streams free of trash and litter, so that they can perform their important environmental role of moving and cleansing stormwater runoff”.

For a number of years the GCAA Green Committee - as well as the GCAA Outreach Committee - has participated in quarterly litter pick-up drives along public sidewalks on Sharon Amity Drive, between Randolph and Providence Roads (on both sides of the street). Again, our volunteers are equipped with gloves, grabbers, plastic bags, and orange vests. The purpose is to help keep Charlotte beautiful for the enjoyment of everyone in our community. The GCAA Adopt-a-Street sign is prominent displayed on the north side of Sharon Amity Drive, in the westbound lane about 100’ from Randolph Road!”

Serving on one of the Greater Charlotte Apartment Association’s Volunteer Committees is a great way to connect with our growing organization and the ever-changing apartment industry. As a Committee Member, you’ll network with other industry professionals while participating in important Association business and decision-making. Choose to be involved in 2019.

GOVERNMENT AFFAIRS COMMITTEE: This committee monitors legislative issues affecting the multifamily industry at the local, state, and national levels. Its members represent the apartment industry before Charlotte City Council, Mecklenburg County Commission, and governmental staff. This committee also works closely with the AANC. GREEN COMMITTEE: This group’s focus is to educate GCAA‘s owner/operator members about the latest trends and opportunities in environmentally-conscious, sustainable multifamily operations. The committee organizes educational programs, has guest speakers, goes on outings, and contributes to GCAA’s publications and website.

MEMBERSHIP COMMITTEE: This group performs the important tasks of obtaining quality new members and retaining existing members. Its members develop and execute strategies for member recruiting, orientation, and retention including direct contact and follow-up with prospects and current members. This group organizes annual membership drives and additional networking opportunities throughout the year.

BUS TOUR COMMITTEE: This committee’s members play key roles in planning and executing the GCAA’s annual New Construction Bus Tour, a major annual undertaking which showcases new apartment product in our market. They also assist with smaller-scale tours which have specific areas of focus, such as the Rehab Tour and the Boutique Tour.

OUTREACH COMMITTEE: This group works to identify areas of need in the community and plan activities which will provide appropriate service and support. In recent years the Outreach Committee has partnered with The Relatives, the Urban Ministry Center, Moore Place, Samaritan House, Habitat at Charlotte and other charitable organizations.

PRODUCTS & SERVICES COUNCIL: The PSC is open to any/all GCAA Associate members in good standing; its overriding goal is to enhance the valuable working relationships between GCAA-member apartment owner/operators and vendor/ suppliers. PSC Subcommittees focus on specific areas/programs including Associate Development, the Trade Show, the Golf Outing, and the Executive Dinner/Reverse Trade Show (alternating years).

PROGRAMS COMMITTEE: This committee researches and schedules quality programs for the monthly General Membership meetings. Its goal is to secure a range of informative, engaging speakers and to present subjects that will appeal to the diverse membership. The group also schedules seminars of industry-related topics for the membership, supplementary to the NAAEI designation courses.

YOUNG APARTMENT PROFESSIONALS COMMITTEE: This group’s efforts focus on increasing association involvement of members who are “young” in the industry. “YAPs” volunteers organize quarterly social events at which GCAA members can network with industry peers, learn more abut the Association, and explore multifamily career opportunities.

CAREER AWARENESS COMMITTEE: NEW IN 2019! This committee will serve as a local mentorship program for high school and college students. The multifamily industry can be an overlooked career path but with this committee we are dedicated to showing our next generation of leaders that it is a viable career path and one that should be explored.
