Inourexperience,amajorityofpastapplicantshavebeenworkinginoneofonlyfour practiceareas.Inlightofthis,wehavebeenexploringwaystoreachmoreartists,suchas publishinganarticleinArtsHubearlierthisyear
WehavealsoturnedourattentiontoattractingapplicantsfromallcornersofAustralia,as partofawidermoveonthepartofTheIanPotterFoundationtobroadenthegeographic reachofourgrant-makingandbetruetoourstatusasanationalfunder Tothisend,the CulturalTrustteamaretravelingtoBrisbanethismonthtomeetwithQueensland-based artsorganisations,toencouragethemtospreadthewordabouttheCulturalTrustthrough theirnetworks.
Wehopethatoureffortsleadtoamorediverserangeofapplications,bothgeographicand artistic,sothattheCulturalTrustcancontinuetoreflectthewideandwonderfulspectrum oftheArtsinAustralia.

AtourrecentBoardMeeting,theTrusteesawarded$63,000tonineemergingartiststo undertakeanimpressiverangeofprofessionaldevelopmentopportunitiesacrossthe world.
Ourlatestgranteeswilltraveltoninedifferentcountries,includingPoland,Portugal, Germany,AustriaandFrance,participatingininternationalfestivalsandsymposiums,as wellasmentorships,residenciesandstudyprograms.
