YOUR NIGHT OUT, BUT MAKE IT SCOUSE What makes Liverpool’s Royal Court different to your average theatre? Quite a lot really. For 200 years, this site has been a part of Liverpool’s story. A place for laughs, live performance, and brilliant nights out. We’ve always believed that a great night out shouldn’t be complicated. Good food, good company, a cracking show and maybe a drink with the cast afterwards. That’s the Royal Court way. Dining with a difference Our unique seating layout means Stalls audiences can dine in the very seats they’ll watch the show from. Just choose dining when you book, arrive an hour before the performance and our chefs will serve a freshly-made meal straight to your table. Plates are cleared before curtain up so you can relax and enjoy the show. Still peckish? Order dessert before the show starts and it’ll arrive at the interval. A quick one? Go on then Our sister bar New CourtYard is right next door and open 12pm ‘til late, Tuesday to Saturday. With live music every Thursday, Friday and Saturday, a heated courtyard garden and an upstairs bar overlooking St George’s Hall, it’s the perfect spot to wet your whistle, and if you stay long enough you might just spot the cast at the bar.
Liverpool’s Royal Court 2026 Cheat Sheet Here’s what’s taking centre stage in 2026. Brand new stories, same scouse humour and plenty to look forward to! Tickets are £17-£29 with no booking fees, and every seat includes a £2 donation that helps to keep this building up to date and looking great. Evening performances at 7.30pm run Tuesday to Saturday, with matinees at 1.30pm on Saturdays and selected Thursdays.

from this city. He lived the highest of high lives and wrung every ounce of pleasure from his sporting success. Aron Julius (Boys From The Blackstuff) has written and stars in this incredible blow by blow drama about the life of one of Liverpool’s sporting greats.

But for Connor Fisher, a young, wheelchair-using scally, it’s just a chance to get his leg over! After lying his way onto the trip in order to pursue Rose, a woman he meets in the queue for a disability benefit
reassessment, he proceeds to lead his fellow pilgrims astray. Produced by Liverpool’s Royal Court in association with Birds Of Paradise, and with funding from Arts Council England. Cured was developed with the support of the National Theatre’s Generate programme.

Taking The Piste

Written by Kieran Lynn Directed by John Young Donald Storm is head of Kirkby Council and he’s got an eye on creating a new destination for tourists from around the world. And if he can make a few bob in the process, so much the better. With his mate Geoff, a builder who might as well be wearing a ten-gallon hat, Don hatches a plan to use tax-payers’ money to build a ski slope right next to the M57.
Well, I suppose it’s handy for skiing into town. Standing in their way are a trainee journalist from the Liverpool Echo and her burnt out supervisor. Between them, they take on Don, the council and even the Echo itself by setting up a new free press so they can speak their minds. It’s all downhill from here.

Every artist needs a place to start out. That’s what The Studio is for. It’s a place for new ideas, for taking risks, trying something new and stepping onto a new stage. As Liverpool’s biggest producing theatre, we commission new writing by people you know and love, as well as a few new names, sharing Liverpool stories on our Main Stage throughout the year. In The Studio, it’s all about new writers. With our free Stage Write programme, we support the next generation of scouse storytellers. And the 150-seater space is where those tales are heard for the first time. It’s also somewhere for performers and creatives to get together and build a new and exciting scene for Liverpool. We host workshops, talent development, drop-ins, networking events along with advice for actors just starting out. The Studio is a place for stories to grow, for audiences to discover something new and for the next generation of talent to get their foot in the door.
Liverpool Lives On Stage Liverpool’s Royal Court is, and always has been, a theatre for Liverpool. Since 1826, this site has been providing entertainment for the city, full of character and full of Scousers. Today we produce eight long-running plays every year, mostly comedies and musicals with a Liverpool heart. Our cast, crew and creative teams are largely local, our sets are built here, our rehearsals happen here, and more than 95% of our spend goes straight back into the local economy. But the stories start earlier than the stage. We nurture emerging talent and support them as they find their voice. Our Youth Theatre is free, open to anyone aged 11 to 17, and there’s no audition or waiting list. Designed by young people for young people, it covers drama, acting, stage craft, dance, singing and much more, with exclusive work experience opportunities. Our Community Choir brings people together simply to sing, laugh and make new friends. It’s free, fun, relaxed, and open to everyone aged 18+. The People’s Players offers the same ethos for adults aged 18 and over. A free acting group with no audition, no fees, and no experience needed. Just enthusiasm and a willingness to give it a go.
Accessibility This building has a long history, but we’re committed to making our theatre welcoming and accessible to all. Step-free access is available at Stalls level, with wheelchair spaces in Rows A-D and on the back row. The Studio has two wheelchair spaces. The lift serves all floors, but accessible seating is currently Stalls only. If you have access requirements, a quick call to Box Office when booking your tickets and an early arrival (around 30 minutes before the show) helps us make your visit smooth and comfortable. Captioning is available in the final week of each main house show, using caption glasses or tablets. Most productions also offer BSL and Audio Described performances, and our Assistive Listening system (Sennheiser Mobile Connect) lets you use your own phone and headphones or borrow equipment from us. Customers who require support, including essential companion tickets, should apply for a free Digital Access Pass (DAP) via Nimbus Disability, valid for three years once approved.
