Born from the dialogue between Calin Stegerean, Director of the Cluj Art Museum, and IAGA Contemporary Art, the exhibition is presented as extraordinary appointment with the masterpieces of contemporary international art: approximately forty works of the highest level, made between the 60s and the present day, realized by the best known artists of the new season after the second World War.
Curated by Ilaria Bignotti and Walter Bonomi, in close collaboration with of the Museum,of Art, the exhibition will be presented to the public an interesting dialogue between different contemporary languages, ranging from poetic painting like alphabet, sign, gesture, in the works by Carla Accardi, Sam Francis, Yaioi Kusama, Emilio Scanavino, Ioan Sbârciu.
Central is the artwork by Lucio Fontana, founder of Spatialism and perhaps one of the most revolutionary artists who were able to go beyond the level of the twodimensional work, looking for a new dialogue with the collaboration between art and science. The exhibition gives attention to research aimed at the performance and to the body, in the extraordinary works of Hermann Nitsch, father of Orgien Mysterien Theater, with works of considerable size and poignant intensity.
We then move on to the Nouveau Réalisme, Pop Art and Arte Povera, key moments of Italian and European in the world, thanks to some pieces of the highest level of Arman, César, François Dufrêne, Mimmo Rotella, Mario Schifano, Daniel Spoerri, Jacques Villeglé, representatives of the Nouveau Réalisme, and Mario Merz and Michelangelo Pistoletto, protagonists of the Arte Povera. And again, the kinetic and conceptual, two other research revolutionary of the twentieth century,are well represented by Alberto Biasi, Manfredo Massironi, Dadamaino.
Christo, founder and genius of Land Art, is dedicated particular attention in order to recognize his central role in this artistic direction.
There are also some works that tell the tensions of contemporary figuration, designed by authors such Dorfles, Aldo Mondino, Giancarlo Montesano, Mimmo Paladino. Other protagonists are Pino Pinelli, the father of Analytical Painting, with a splendid opera red, monochrome; Franco Fontana, experimental photographer, with two works dedicated to London. Thus is coming the title of the exhibition, which emphasizes the possibility to compare, through the selection of works and languages belonging to another look, able to offer different perspectives on the history, culture and society from the Second World War to the present. The exhibition is thus not only an opportunity to "see" masterpieces, but also to learn to see what is not seen: the emotion of the research, the discovery of the desire, the courage of the choices, the responsibility of curatorial work.
Central aspects for Alberto Perobelli, collector and director of IAGA Contemporary Art and to the staff of the Gallery itself, lively cultural platform whose main objective is to develop and promote dialogue between artistic research contemporary Italian and Eastern European, thanks to participation events and events of international contemporary art, looking at a possible future where cultural exchange and international dialogue are really the foundation upon which to build a long-term artistic projects and track new and successful artistic and cultural geographies.
