Building for the future.

TWIN RIVER BRIDGE, CHONGQING, CHINA T.Y. Lin International (TYLI) designed the Dongshuimen Bridge across the Yangtze River and the Qianximen Bridge across the Jialing River – two iconic structures known collectively as the Twin River Bridge in Chongqing, China. Interconnected by a tunnel, the bridges allow seamless transport between the city’s southern district, downtown Chongqing, and the northern district. Both structures carry vehicular lanes and pedestrian paths on the upper decks and light rail on the lower decks. TYLI’s innovative design resulted in two partially cable-supported girder bridges, an economical, structurally efficient concept that provides a highly aesthetic, transparent configuration. The simple, modern towers also dramatically express Chongqing’s dynamic combination of Photo: Yaping Lai
