We will tour several attractions in the Riviera Maya. The buses will pick up attendees at the main entrance of the Krystal Altitude Cancun Hotel (formerly Krystal Grand Cancun) between 8:30 and 9 a.m. and will return approximately at 9 - 9:30 p.m. both days.
The Krystal Altitude Cancun Hotel (formerly Krystal Grand Cancun) is located two blocks away from Cancun Center. The Aloft hotel is adjacent to Cancun Center. The convention center has a limited amount of free parking spaces.
To participate in the activities on the 26th and 27th, it is necessary to use the transportation provided by IAAPA, as you will not be able to access the attractions or tours independently.
Several roads in Cancun are currently under construction, which has resulted in increased traffic. Please take precautions during your transportation. In addition, the travel time to and from the attractions may vary due to this.
Conference and Trade Connections - April 24th and 25th
Includes two days of conferences with simultaneous English-Spanish translation, lunches, exhibitions, tours, and receptions, as well as transportation to and from the Cancun Center for tours and receptions. Accommodation, air transportation, and transportation to and from the airport are NOT included.
Full Event - April 24th through 27th
Includes two days (April 24th and 25th) of conferences with simultaneous English-Spanish translation, lunches, exhibitions, tours, and receptions, PLUS two additional days (April 26th and 27th) of EDUTours with lunch and receptions, and transportation to and from the Krystal Altitude hotel. Accommodation, air transportation, and transportation to and from the airport are NOT included.
There will be no on-site registration. Only pre-registered attendees will be able to participate in the activities.
All pre-registered participants must go to the registration desk in the foyer of the Gran Cancun Room, third floor, Cancun Center, on April 24th starting at 7:30 a.m. to pick up their accreditation, which they must carry at all times. If you registered only for the Conference (green accreditation), you can only participate in activities on April 24th and 25th. If you registered for the Full Event (orange accreditation), you can participate in all activities.
We invite you to create an account on the IAAPA Connect+ application, the official digital platform of IAAPA for events and expos, to connect with other attendees of the event and stay up-todate with event news, program, speakers, exhibitors, and more. Access the application on your computer or download the mobile app on your cell phone.(Iphone o Android).

We suggest dressing in business casual attire for the 24th and 25th, and casual attire for the 26th and 2nd. The average temperature in the area is a minimum of 22°C and a maximum of 32°C. The attractions tours are educational in nature and do not involve active participation in any attractions, except for some exceptions. Swimwear or a change of clothes is not required. We suggest bringing a hat, sunglasses, and sunscreen for the tours on April 26th and 27th.
We extend the following recommendations to ensure your safety during the event days. Both Cancun Center and the Krystal Altitude Hotel have closed circuit security and surveillance.
• Avoid going out alone at night. It is suggested to always go out accompanied or wait for your transportation inside the hotel.
• Do not to carry valuable items with you in plain sight, including jewelry, cell phones, or computers.
• Use the Summit badge only within the Convention Center and the EDUTours. Remove it before going out on the street.
• Locate emergency exits in case of earthquake or fire.

Your participation in the event gives you 13.5 credits towards the renewal of your IAAPA Certification if you participate in the Conference only, and 24.5 credits if you participate in the full event.
• This event is not suitable for individuals under the age of 18.
• The event includes attraction tours and rides that require physical exertion. Some attractions may have usage restrictions depending on the user’s physical condition.
• IAAPA reserves the right to take, record, and use photographs, videos, recordings, or any other records of the event for legitimate purposes, including commercial advertising.
• IAAPA Privacy Policy
The use of face masks during the event is not mandatory. However, we reserve the right to recommend that any participant showing symptoms compatible with COVID wear one, or even request that they refrain from participating in activities and get a COVID test. We will have face masks available for attendees. Please wash your hands and use hand sanitizer frequently.

IAAPA provides the attractions industry with significant events that include education, networking, and market access opportunities in an environment that promotes the exchange of ideas, information, and resources. The goal of IAAPA is for everyone attending our events to have a positive and rewarding experience, including attendees, speakers, sponsors, exhibitors, volunteers, and IAAPA team members.
The following Code of Conduct provides guidelines to ensure that all participants understand what behavior is expected and what behavior will not be tolerated during the event. This includes social events related to off-site events and all online communications and social media related to the event. IAAPA has the right to expel any participant from the event who does not comply with this Code of Conduct, without the right to a refund. Additionally, IAAPA requests that both attendees and exhibitors report any observed violations to IAAPA staff.
Harassment: IAAPA events provide a harassment-free, respectful, and inclusive experience for everyone, regardless of their gender identity and expression, sexual orientation, disability, neurodiversity, physical appearance, body size, ethnicity, nationality, race, age, or religion. Participants must refrain from any harassing, degrading, abusive, or discriminatory behavior, including inappropriate photographs or recordings.
Violence: There is a zero-tolerance policy for any displays of violence, threats of violence, or violent language directed towards another person. This includes profanity, obscene gestures, and sexually explicit language.
Denigration: It is strictly prohibited to denigrate the work, ideologies, or services of attending individuals and companies at IAAPA events.
Suitcasing: Any attendee who does not exhibit and who solicits business in the exhibition area or in public spaces or at another company’s booth will be asked to leave the event immediately without any right to a refund.
Outboarding: Defined as marketing, sales, and hospitality events held by exhibitors and others that capitalize on the presence of buyers and/or sellers attending the original event. This practice is unethical and subject to expulsion of involved participants from the event.
All activities on April 24th and 25th are included in Conference registration. Additionally, all activities on April 26th nd 27th are included in Full Event registration.

Group A: Will depart from the Krystal Altitude Hotel at 8:30 a.m. to take the EDUTour at Nickelodeon Hotel & Resort Riviera Maya. Afterwards, they will be transferred to Jungala Aqua Experience, where they will have lunch, take the EDUTour, and then enjoy the facilities at Jungala.
Group B: Will depart from the Krystal Altitude Hotel at 10 a.m. to take the EDUTour at Nickelodeon Hotel & Resort Riviera Maya. Afterwards, they will be transferred to Jungala Aqua Experience, where they will have lunch and take the EDUTour. This group will not use the facilities.

Eduardo has a Law Degree with a postgraduate degree in Corporate Law from the University of Pennsylvania and a master’s degree in Corporate Law from Anahuac University. He began his career at The Dolphin Company in 1994 and in 1999 became a partner and CEO. René Aziz was president and partner of Grupo Mágico Internacional, founded in 1983, which managed 13 amusement facilities including water parks, amusement parks, family entertainment centers, and zoos in Mexico, Colombia, Argentina, Brazil and Miami, a group that was sold in 2008. He participated as founder and member of the Mexican Association and the Latin American Associations of Amusement Parks and Attractions. He has also been a member of the Pro-Bosque de Chapultepec trust in Mexico, and advisor to the Guadalajara and Buenos Aires zoos. René has been actively involved with IAAPA since 1989 when he was invited to join the board of directors. In 1996 he was elected third vice-president and in 2000 he was appointed president of the IAAPA Board of Directors, the first Latin American to hold this position. He has also been chairman of the International Committee, IAAPA’s Education Committee, member of the Board of Directors, and member of IAAPA’s Nominating Committee. Paula studied hotel management and engineering in tourism projects. Upon completion, she began working at Disney Cruise Line and amusement parks in Orlando, FL, where she learned the vision of Disney and its culture in “Providing excellence in service and quality for all its guests.” Since her arrival in Mexico, she has worked in various areas of hotel operations for prominent companies such as Allegro Resorts and Karisma Hotels & Resorts. She took her first role as General Manager in 2009 at Dorado Seaside Suites, in 2013 as Operations Manager for Karisma Hotels & Resorts in the Mexico Division, and in 2017 as Director of Operations, a position she currently holds. The inspiration of her mentors, her discipline and passion to seek new goals and personal purposes, led her to be part of the planning, development and execution of the Nickelodeon Riviera Maya project, with the first Aqua Nick in North America.
Jim Pattison, Jr. has been with Ripley Entertainment. since 1990 and was named president in December 2007. He has held various senior positions with the company, most notably in the operations of Ripley’s attractions around the world, including two world-class aquariums and the company’s third aquarium, Ripley’s Aquarium of Canada, which opened in Toronto, Canada in October 2013. Prior to joining Ripley’s and the Jim Pattison Group, he worked in the financial/banking industry. Jim was born in Vancouver, has lived in Canada, Switzerland, and moved to Orlando, Florida in 1993, when Ripley’s moved its world headquarters from Toronto to the United States.
A marketing graduate with experience in entertainment industry management, Luciana, works as CEO at Neverland. An Argentinean company with more than 34 offices in Argentina and Spain, that develops design and innovation. She is responsible for global strategic affairs, business, operational and performance development, developing new market entry strategies, preparing the annual budget, and ensuring each FEC follows specific KPIs. Luciana stands out for her commitment and social responsibility in different organizations that provide educational programs for the development of a healthy and dignified childhood, in addition to donating to foundations that promote the well-being and development of children and their families, as well as programs focused on environmental protection issues. Since 2010, she has actively participated in various IAAPA committees, including chair of the IAAPA Latin America and Caribbean Advisory Committee, and member of the IAAPA Board of Directors from 2020 to 2022.
Miguel Quintana Pali is an architect and a great entrepreneur. In 1972 he started the Pali furniture and decoration boutique chain, which eventually had several branches in Mexico City. In 1985 he began his career as in the industry at Xcaret, a park that opened five years later. In 1994, together with his partners, the Constandse brothers, he obtained the concession for the Xel-Ha federal park and in three decades he has opened five more parks (Xplor, Xplor Fuego, Xoximilco, Xenses and the recently opened Xavage), in addition to tourist excursions, including Xichén and Xenotes. In 2012, Xcaret won the Ulysses award from the World Tourism Organization and, in 2018, the Liseberg Aplause Award for the best park in the world. Miguel Quintana is one of the most internationally recognized Mexican businessmen for his ingenuity, the development that Grupo Xcaret has brought to the Yucatan peninsula, his strong social conscience and for creating the most visited Mexican attraction in the world.
The first Brazilian to receive the Certified Autism Travel Professional certification by the International Board of Credentialing and Continuing Education Standards, Amanda Ribeiro is a graduate student in Diversity and Inclusion Law at the Legal Institute, administrator and mother of Arthur, a 6-year-old autistic boy, who decided to study autism to help his son, created the Incluir Treinamentos after experimenting discrimination. Amanda has a degree in Business Administration with a specialization in early intervention in autism from the Child Behavior Institute of Miami, applied behavior analysis and naturalistic strategies from the Singular Institute, and architectural accessibility and diversity and inclusion.
Iliana has worked as a public relations professional for 23 years. She has a degree in economics and a master’s in corporate communication and marketing. Additionally, she hase diplomas in senior management, leadership, and Mayan culture. She has a particular taste for strategic planning, research, and measuring results. Her love for nature and biology have allowed her to focus her work towards sustainable tourism. Graduated in public accounting, with a master’s degree in strategic management of human capital and a master’s degree in senior management, Mariana is the current corporate director of human talent at Grupo Xcaret, where she in charge of designing and executing the human resources strategy for all units in the group, including parks, hotels, shipping and bus lines, building a single culture and identity and implementing the entire talent management cycle. She held various positions at Cinépolis, from training deputy director, HR business partner, International HR deputy director, to HR director at Cinépolis Spain; She collaborated in the Nestlé Group in different positions, being her the last senior manager of training and development. In addition, she has given numerous conferences on HR in Mexico, Panama and Spain and has taught bachelor’s and master’s degrees at La Salle University.
Claudia has a degree in marketing from ITESM and a master’s in tourism marketing from La Salle. Her professional development began in Mexico CIty in companies dedicated to market research.
