Cataract Walk repair works underway The City of Launceston have begun substantive repair works to Cataract Walk, with the aim of re-opening the walkway to the public early next year.

"The Cataract Gorge is a largely natural environment, which is one of the reasons it is valued so highly by the Launceston community," Mayor Garwood said.

Given the difficult terrain, the stone and earth will be removed from the site using a custom fabricated rail trolley system, similar to those operating in the mining sector.

"We are putting plans in place to take advantage of the closure of the walkway to undertake other repair works on the Cataract Walk.

Bonza Airline makes inaugural decent into Launceston

By Kristy Williams Bonza Airlines officially touched down in Launceston from the Gold Coast last month marking the low-cost airline's inaugural flight into Tasmania.

As the newest addition to Bonza's map, CEO Tim Jordan said the airline has effectively joined 1 million people together.

Operating three times a week, this new service aims to provide increased options for travellers.

“1/4 of a million people in Tasmania will now have access to the Gold Coast, we have 3/4 of a million people in the Gold Coast and Northern NSW who now have direct access to Northern Tasmania.”

Launceston proudly claims its spot as Bonza Airlines' 18th destination, marking a significant milestone in the airline's expanding network.

“Now that’s 1 million people who can connect with friends and family more easily than what they could yesterday, that’s very important and

This phrase is believed to date back to medieval times when people believed in, and were concerned about, the existence of witches and witchcraft. In order to weaken the power of the witches, a pinch of salt was used to throw at the witches so this explains the 'pinch' part. The 'punch' part was to banish the witch altogether, forever.

By Kristy Williams Whether you’re serving Christmas lunch or dinner, it can often feel like a long and busy day.

While family and visitors are having a great time you’re stuck in the kitchen. The kids are complaining “I’m hungry, when’s lunch/dinner ready.”, and your just hot and bothered. What a nightmare!

There are so many creative food ideas that you can do days before the big day or even weeks prior to.

Depending on your taste buds, you can often pre-make some of those longer recipes like dessert foods such as Chocolate Fondant that take half a morning to make, and clog up the sink with unnecessary mess.

You can often find Christmas themed cookies or pastries that are exciting to look at and to eat.
