The Shirley Marts Scholarship Fund

THE SHIRLEY KYLE MARTS SCHOLARSHIP FUND reaches out to graduating seniors from HPCUMC

Shirley Kyle Marts was a long- time member of HPCUMC. When Shirley was young, she was able to attend college because a benefactor offered financial assistance. As a result, she went on to have a successful career with P & G. To pay it forward, Shirley endowed her estate to provide scholarships for qualified graduating seniors from HPCUMC. Scholarships are awarded based on financial need, participation in church activities and academic records. Each awarded scholarship may be renewed for an additional three years. In the ten years that the Marts Scholarship Fund has been in existence, over 60 graduating seniors have benefitted by this gift. The newest recipients of a Marts Scholarship for the school year 2020-2021 are Colin Bennett, Alex McHenry, John Morton, Peter Morton, Zach Potter, and Melanie Weiss.
