Possibility of ‘mega-estate’ of 183 houses on Horebeech Lane

• Carbon emissions are now only 5% lower than this time last year (after an 12 week period of lockdown) – direct conflict with Wealden carbon neutral targets for 2050. • Environmental Health agree there will be detrimental affect on our health with more houses built. • Wealden DC issue a ‘call for more sites for development’ 2nd June 2020. • 4,000 houses already granted planning permission in the District, but not yet built out. • Low demand for housing within the district. From 2018-2043 predicted population growth in Wealden is 12.5% • Government tells councils to allow developers to defer affordable housing obligations 13th May 2020. • Green Open Spaces should be given high priority as many indoor sports clubs, centres, gyms will never be able to return to the ‘normal’ they were previously.
