MENTORS AND STAFF 2011-2012

My name is Khanh and I am the Anh Chi Em Director for the 2011-2012 year. I was also the Director for the 2010-2011 year when the program first started. I currently have a full time job at a property management company. My hobbies include watching sports, playing video games, the internet, watching romantic comedies, and listening to music. I like traveling and adventures. I also like being silly and being able to express yourself.

I dislike close minded people and negative people. Some interesting facts about me is that I studied abroad in Korea for 6 months.

That opportunity allowed me to open my mind and realize that there is a whole new world outside of California or even America.

Tess Nguyen is a second year at CSULB hoping to become a nursing one day. She likes almost everything and enjoys playing sports and explore new things, or at least try to. She really enjoys arts and crafts, baking, and texting. If you ever need help, she would be the one to take you shopping and work out with whatever that you need help with. The only thing she hates most is reptiles. She can’t stand looking at a picture of it, even the thought of it gives her chills. She can be the geekiest but down to earth person. Pauline Pham.

She is more than meets the eye. From participating with the ACE program to working with kids, she has a busy life with school, work, church, and family. As a third year at California State University, Long Beach, Pauline is pursuing a career as a pediatric nurse.

Being the second oldest in the family, she wants to set an example and be a good role model for her two younger siblings, Anna and Paxton. Throughout her life, Pauline always had a love for kids. She’s currently working at Schmitt Elementary School as a mentor/TA assistant. In church, she is scout leader that help kids develop leadership skills and become more responsible. Also, she tutors kids on her free time. Aside from her busy lifestyle, Pauline loves being outdoors and is always up for any adventure!

Tommy Nguyen has an arch enemy: donuts. No matter how much he tries to stay in shape and be healthy, its delectable allure always brings him back. He is currently attending Cal State Long Beach as a psychology major and wants to one day be a youth counselor. That’s right - get out of high school now before he becomes YOUR counselor! Tommy likes to demolish comestibles (eat), Capture Z’s (sleep), and secretly saves the world on a weekly basis (plays games).
