RAYLEIGHTOWNFC

Rayleigh Town can trace its history back to 1897 with a team called Rayleigh Star and after a number of changes the current name of Rayleigh Town was adopted in 1946.

The Club’s home ground throughout the 50s and 60s was at King Georges public park off Rayleigh high street.

The Club leased an 11-acre site from the Council in 1970 and developed its own pitches and clubhouse over a two-year period – without any external funding, at that time the Club had three teams in the now defunct Southend & District League.

The First and Reserve teams joined the Essex Olympian League in 1976 and have been reasonably successful in the intervening years The First Team winning the Premier Div 6 times, the Senior Cup on three occasions, and the prestigious Essex Premier Cup on 4 occasions.

In 2024 this ambitious club broke a 23-year barren spell without silverware when they won the BBC Essex Saturday Premier cup and were crowned champions of the Essex Olympian League for a seventh time and with it promotion into the Thurlow Nunn first division south, Step 6 of the national non-league pyramid enabled by the club’s agreement to play its home games at Concord Rangers Thames Road home

There are exciting ground opportunities ahead, which hopefully will see the club offer a wonderful hub for the community of Rayleigh to watch and play football And so a new era begins…

HUTTON FC HISTORY

The club was founded in 1928 and has been prominent in local football since that time with cup winner’s medals dating back to 1932 A key factor in the continued success of Hutton Football Club is the progression of young, local players The senior teams played in the Mid Essex League until 1989 when progression was made into the Essex Intermediate, now the Essex Olympian League The Club expanded rapidly after 2005 with the merger of Hutton FC and Hutton Medway FC (established in 1969) The Club now has 70 teams based in our local community

The current club house has been at the Polo Fields for over 50 years, two previous buildings being destroyed by fire, and the second one having been struck by lightning In 2010, the Clubhouse was vandalised and set on fire but has now been repaired and enhanced thanks to a large grant from Sport England.

Recent history has seen more rapid developments at the club The Football Association awarded Hutton FC with Charter Standard Community status which is the highest accreditation a club can achieve In 2005, when the award was granted, there were only nine clubs in the whole of Essex with this status. The Club is very proud to have been awarded Community Club of the year twice by Essex County FA The club has been encouraging girls to come and play for a number of years, and in 2005 the first official Hutton girls’ team was formed and since then, our Ladies 1st and reserve teams have been added to help with progression.

The Club has been involved in a European Tournament played against professional clubs' youth teams, with outstanding facilities. The Clubs are; Saint Ingbert (Germany), Rumelange (Luxembourg) and Zandhoven (Belgium). The tournament celebrates its 50th year in 2025. MATT SINGH, FIRST TEAM MANAGER

Saturday was a tough one to take. I thought we started very well and created 3/4 very good opportunities within the first 25 minutes. Unlike us, we didn’t take those which allowed them to stay in the game. Personally i couldn’t say one of our players had a poor game. We finally made the break through in the second half but we were made to pay in the final second of the game. They had two shots all game compared to the 10+ we had. That’s football and something we need to learn from!

Still that’s another point on the board and the boys have shown a massive improvement over the past five league games.

Tonight will be very tough. A side who are top of the table and very confident after a great start to their first season in the league. They remind me very much of us last season, which means we know how tough this game will be.

THURLOW NUNN - FIRST DIVISION SOUTH

Hutton FC has one of the most established and respected girls sections in Essex. The section is comprised of a thriving Wildcats group for our newest female ballers and 11 teams ranging from Under 8s through to u18s. Our current Under 8s manager Stuart Hart has already taken one team through the age ranges to under 18 and is now starting again!

Our girl's teams usually start playing in mixed leagues in the Brentwood Community Youth Football League before moving on to play in the Essex County Girls League. The overriding ethos for the section is to create a safe and enjoyable environment for our girls to enjoy their footballing journey, and to create lasting memories and friendships.

As well as looking after teams within the section we also have 3 of our girl's section managers involved as Trustees of Hutton FC and as such the needs of our female players are reflected equally in all decisions made regarding the direction of the club

We currently have a number of openings for girls in years 6, 7 and 8 so are keen to welcome players either new to the sport or experienced.

As the section has grown so too has our need for coaches and managers, so if you'd like to get involved don't hesitate to get in touch!

Our team has just been formed this season after being hand picked and we are entering our first season in the Echo Brazil league were we hope to be competitive and win more than we lose We like to play an attractive style of play, with us playing out from the back whilst winning the ball back high up the pitch with a high press

GK - Micah Budd, plays like a true sweeper keeper and most of our attacks start here, Micah is also a great shot stopper and commands his area well

Defenders:

Romeo Roget - Deceptively quick, Romeo is a ball playing centre back/right back who has scored some screamers already this season

Logan Dakin - A no nonsense defender Logan is usually the smallest player on the pitch but he is also usually the most ferocious player on the pitch not one you want to get into a 50/50 with

Jude Ewen - A combative defender who is vocal and has a physical prescence, puts his body on the line and a great team player who will no doubt be important to us defensively this season

Midfielders:

Teddy Thompson - Possess’s a rocket of a shot, Teddy is an intelligent player who makes key passes in the final third showing maturity beyond his years, Great free kick taker who has score some important goals

Chester Hunt - A wing wizard, Chester has really progressed in the last 6 months, a player right backs fear Chester glides past players like they are not there creating chances for others aswell as scoring some emphatic goals himself when given a chance to let fly with his left foot!

Maxwell Hatton - A tireless and fearless midfielder, Maxwell manipulates the ball well and is tough in the tackle and makes key passes in the final third He is Also capable of scoring important goals from central midfield a knack that many central midfield players lack which will stand him in good stead for the future

Jacob Irons - Another Left sided player who has a great technical ability, partial to a long shot Jacob is both footed and is tenacious in the tackle, Jacob can also play multiple positions showing a real versatility for the team, one to watch for sure

Owen Vinten - Mr dependable, Owen has played defence/midfield and striker for us this season and is equally as good in each He trains hard and is a tireless hard working player who likes to dominate the ball and puts in the miles every week Also a scorer of great goals Owen has shown he is a real competitor who has a never say die attitude and puts his body on the line for the team

Strikers:

George Ford - The hardest working striker I’ve seen at this age group George is a real threat at the top end of the pitch scoring goals and terrorising defenders with the high press His futsal background shows in tight areas and he can create something from nothing, a special player and a real assett

Koby Blackhall - Our fox in the box Koby can play off the left or centrally causing damage in both positions to the opposition Also very hard working he is a poacher who only needs half a chance to punish you, has started to take his shots early now and is reaping the benefits a proper goal scorer who also brings others into play Great Prospect

FOOTBALLFOCUS
