C F E D I S G N I K R BA Barkingside Football Club, based in Barkingside in the London Borough of Redbridge, was formed by a small group of enthusiasts in 1898, playing in the Ilford League, on a ground opposite the State Cinema in Barkingside High Road. They gained their first honour after the First World War sharing the Championship of the Ilford League. The club then disbanded in 1922/23 due to lack of support but resumed in 1925 as Barkingside Boys Guild in the Ilford Minor League. The name was then changed to Barkingside Old Boys and then the "old boys" prefix was dropped in the 1930s. The club gained the use of a pitch at Barkingside Recreation Ground, where they played for 25 years before moving to their present ground in Station Road. The Club then became very successful in local football, winning the Ilford and District League on several occasions prior to World War II. The club resumed immediately after the Second World War and after a few seasons in the Ilford League they entered the South Essex League, finishing runners-up in their first season. The next season the club joined the Walthamstow League and also obtained membership of the Amateur Football Alliance. The club then entered the London League in 1950 and finished runners-up in their first season. They won the League Cup in 1956 and were beaten finalists in 1953 and 1963. They also won the Ilford Festival Cup and the Romford Charity Cup in 1952. Barkingside first entered the London Senior Cup in 1957/58. The club then joined the newly formed Greater London League in 1964/65 and won promotion to the premier division in 1965/66, but were relegated after only one season. A fire in the early 1970s forced the club to play its home fixtures at Woodford Avenue until the clubhouse was rebuilt. Barkingside entered the newly formed London Spartan League in 1976/77 and finished fourth, which earned them promotion to the Premier Division. This promotion was short-lived and they were relegated the following season. The Harry Sunderland Shield was won in 1984 and they were runners-up in the same competition in 1985. They also attained a creditable 5th-place finish in the League in 1985/86 which earned them a return to the Premier Division, where they remained until joining the Spartan South Midlands League, which was born by the merger of the London Spartan League and the South Midlands League in 1996/97. The league championship and the London Senior Cup were won in a memorable first season. Prior to the start of season 1998/99 the club came under the control of new owners and work then commenced on the ground, which was christened Oakside Stadium, to bring it up to Isthmian League standard. In 1998/99 they won the Premier Division again but were denied promotion to the Isthmian League. This setback resulted in the club wishing to move on to the Essex Senior League, but this request was denied due to an FA ruling that did not allow sideways moves within the soccer pyramid. To ensure that its desire to move was possible the club withdrew from senior football for one season and entered the Essex Senior League in 2000/01; a successful first season saw them finish third in the league and winners of the Gordon Brastead Memorial Cup. In the following season there were massive changes at the Club: the senior management team and committee moved on en-bloc to a Ryman Premier Club and the lease at Oakside was sold on to Ford United (now Redbridge) who needed to find a permanent home to allow their progression up the football pyramid. Barkingside FC derived considerable benefits from this. Considerable investment by Jimmy Chapman, the Ford/Redbridge Chairman, has seen Oakside developed to a grade 1 ground and Barkingside have a permanent ground-share agreement; indeed to demonstrate the intention that Barkingside would continue Jimmy Chapman became their president in a gesture of support. Seasons 2001/02, 2002/03, 2003/04 saw the club finish in fairly moderate mid-table positions as the new committee worked hard to consolidate the long-term future. The club continued to move forward competing hard for the Essex Senior League title and reaching 2 finals in the Gordon Brasted Memorial Trophy only to lose them to Hornchurch and Brentwood Town. In the 2007/08 season the club finished 3rd in the Essex Senior League finishing behind Enfield 1893 and champions Concord Rangers in the table. However they had led the division for some time but fell away towards the end losing 3 out of their last 4 games. The club is now entering a new era after the Taylor family left the club after 8 years at the helm of the club. After a turbulent start to the season where due to boardroom discontent Jimmy Flanagan took charge of the ship towards the end of December and with Tony Fenn's management team and a good group of players led the club to 5th place in the Essex Senior League and a well deserved 2-0 win over Burnham Ramblers, in the Essex Senior League Cup Final. It was a fitting end for the club after a hard season in which everyone involved at the club played their part! 2012/13 things got even better for Barkingside after a terrific campaign and a 2nd place finish, Side were promoted into the Ryman League One North and step 4 of the non-league pyramid. Under the management of Matt Frew (now in his second-full season) the club also won the Essex Senior League Cup final 9-1 against Bowers & Pitsea. 2012/14 saw the club maintain their Ryman League status with a game to go as Frew’s side finished 20th. It was a marvellous achievement considering at one stage the club were struggling after losing 11 matches in a row. At the end of the season, it was announced that the club would be moving to Cricklefields to ground-share with Ilford ending 56 years of playing at the Oakside. The club earned a reprieve from relegation after finishing 22nd. Matt Frew decided to leave the club at the end of the season and was replaced by Gus Gulfer. Unfortunately the club finished 23rd and were relegated back to the Essex Senior League for at the end of the 2015/16 season, after three seasons as a Ryman club. Under Gulfer they finished 10th back in the Essex Senior League. Gulfer would leave the club at the end of the season with ex-Clapton manager Michael Walther being appointed the club’s new manager for the 2017/18 season. After a tough season, 'Side finished 16th and avoided relegation, ensuring their ESL league status for another season. After a tough start to the 2018/19 season, Walther would leave the club in November, with Alex Goldstone being appointed as interim manager until the end of the season. With an improvement of results, the club would finish 19th, but were still relegated to the Eastern Senior League South Division. Ex-Redbridge Reserves boss Steven Le Sage was appointed the club's new manager ahead of the 2019/20 season, and helped rebuild the team both on and off the pitch. The team were in 6th challenging for promotion, before the season was cancelled due to Covid-19. The following season - 2020/21 - the team were in 10th place, having played only 9 games before that season was cancelled also due to Covid-19. In the 2021/22 season, despite some promising results the team finished in 11th place.

Hutton FC is a Club, a team, a family not individuals. HUTTON FC HISTORY The club was founded in 1928 and has been prominent in local football since that time with cup winner’s medals dating back to 1932. A key factor in the continued success of Hutton Football Club is the progression of young, local players. The senior teams played in the Mid Essex League until 1989 when progression was made into the Essex Intermediate, now the Essex Olympian League. The Club expanded rapidly after 2005 with the merger of Hutton FC and Hutton Medway FC (established in 1969). The Club now has 70 teams based in our local community. The current club house has been at the Polo Fields for over 50 years, two previous buildings being destroyed by fire, and the second one having been struck by lightning. In 2010, the Clubhouse was vandalised and set on fire but has now been repaired and enhanced thanks to a large grant from Sport England. Recent history has seen more rapid developments at the club. The Football Association awarded Hutton FC with Charter Standard Community status which is the highest accreditation a club can achieve. In 2005, when the award was granted, there were only nine clubs in the whole of Essex with this status. The Club is very proud to have been awarded Community Club of the year twice by Essex County FA. The club has been encouraging girls to come and play for a number of years, and in 2005 the first official Hutton girls’ team was formed and since then, our Ladies 1st and reserve teams have been added to help with progression. The Club has been involved in a European Tournament played against professional clubs' youth teams, with outstanding facilities. The Clubs are; Saint Ingbert (Germany), Rumelange (Luxembourg) and Zandhoven (Belgium). The tournament celebrates its 50th year in 2025. Our senior men’s 1st team won the EOFL premier division 2022/23 season gaining promotion to the NLS, playing in the Thurlow Nunn League South. WHAT 'S SINGHY SAYING?

MATT SINGH, FIRST TEAM MANAGER It has been a stop start few weeks for us due to the lack of fixtures. Our Friday night game at todays opponents Barkingside, was not the prettiest due to the conditions. Our lads displayed a mature performance for 80 minutes, which put us 3-0 up. After a scrappy final 10 minutes, we managed to leave with the points. Our midweek game with Hackney Wick was an entertaining one for those watching, but frustrating one for us. To have three goals disallowed in a game, shows the pressure we put them under. Hats off to them, they stood strong and managed to take the points. We now need to believe in ourselves and replicate that performance today. It’s nice to be back at home today as it seems a long time since we have played here. We have some new faces for everyone to see and some young exciting players included. It has been another record breaking calender year for us with the clubs highest ever finish last season, reaching the play offs. We hope we can make 2025 just as successful. I just wanted to add before we finish, congratulations to our captain Jim Gardner and his partner, on the birth of their Son. As our assistant Dan said, welcome to the no sleep club! THURLOW NUNN - FIRST DIVISION SOUTH

In our third season as a team we have crept up another couple of divisions and continue to build on our football. The boys all work hard on supporting each other and keeping positive even in some very tough games. We have added two new players to the squad this year that have fitted in brilliantly and have helped balance out the set up. High hopes of reaching another cup final and bringing it home for Hutton

Sunday was a historic day for Hutton FC and their girls and ladies section as the First team took on Leyton Orient in the Adobe FA Cup 3rd round qualifier for a place in the 1st Round Proper awaiting the winners. Our Ladies First team managed by Darren Stacey and Luke Stone have had a good start to the season winning 4 of their 5 league games and beating Clapton and higher division opponents Enfield in previous Fa Cup rounds. Leyton Orient came to Hannakins Farm Community Centre having recently acquired a major investment from a USA source into their womens section and boasting ex USA International striker Stephanie McCaffrey in their starting line up. With a crowd of over 150 people this contest kicked off and it was Hutton that started the more confident passing the ball around in midfield and only took 5 minutes when young right winger Holly Appleton,who only turned 18 the day before, was played through by a delightful ball by captain Abi Carke ,her speed allowing her to drive into the box and getting her shot away which was finely saved by the Orient keeper. Hutton kept up the pressure and 5 minutes later opened the scoring when midfielder Millie Staceys ball clipped over the top of Orients defense saw striker Daisy Canny run on to and lob the goalkeeper from 25 yards ,1-0 Hutton. From then on it was Leyton Orient who settled the better team and although having more of the ball couldnt find a way through the hard tackling Hutton midfield or defence. Orient had only two half chances the rest of the half untill the 43rd minute when a quality defence splitting pass saw McCaffrey run on into the box and just getting to the ball before the young 17 year old Hutton goalie Evie Carvell,quickly coming off her line was judged to have clipped the strikers right foot and a penalty was awarded. The ex USA International calmy slotted away to make it 1-1. However almost immediately Hutton responded with the talented Lucy Critchell playing the ball out wide on the left to her sister Hayley to run on to.Hayley drove down the wing and cross to the ever present Canny who slotted in the far corner.2-1 Hutton right on half time. The second half became a very scrappy midfield battle with either side being able to break down defences.Numerous times Orient tried to find McCaffreys skills but the combination of Kayleigh Franklin and Izzy Crichton marked her superbly.As the game went on Orient tried more ariel balls into the box yet the defence marshalled extremely well by Phoebe Keys and Molly Bowness heading presence kept Orient at bay.With 25 minutes left the management started to introduce much needed substitutes Charlotte Rutt,Isobel Boyd and Megan Gerrish to freshen up the embattled Hutton midfield.This certainly done the trick as on the 80th minute after a brief spell of Hutton pressure a back pass from Orient allowed Canny (who used to play in Arsenal team with Ellen White) to tackle the keeper and steal the ball off her and slot into the net for her hatrick.3-1. Ten minutes of constant high pressure in the Hutton box occured yet Carvell in goal and her defence stopped any clear cut chance by Orient to finally secure the historic win 3-1. Speaking after the game manager Darren Stacey said "The girls were all fantastic,we always feel like we can score,so we kept our defensive shape superbly and just battled away in midfield,taking many knocks but just kept at it.Hutton girls and Ladies section really has a buzz about it this season.Behind the scenes for many years now hard work has been put in and now we finally have Flints Community Ground Open,girls teams all the way from little Wildcats to 3 ladies teams.We had 5 teenagers on the pitch today which shows our active player pathway is working,its fantastic". Hutton Ladies First team now host the winners of either Luton Town or St Albans on the 3rd November in the Adobe FA Cup first round proper.

We are pleased to announce that our new ground, Flint’s Community Sports Hub was officially opened by the Mayor of Brentwood 13th July 2024. The opening event a successful youth tournament held over two days marked the occasion and we now continue to develop the site and look forward to seeing our youth teams coming together playing on this exceptional surface.
