Four years ago, Hutton Football Club embarked on an ambitious journey. With a clear five-year plan to reach Step 5 of the National League System, the club set itself a challenging target. It was a vision built on hard work, commitment, belief and, above all, a determination to build something special for Hutton Football Club and the wider community. Last season, that vision became reality. Following promotion from the Essex Olympian League to the Thurlow Nunn League, our incredible squad went on to achieve what we had all dreamed of — winning the league title on the final day of the season and securing our place at Step 5. To achieve that within four years is a remarkable accomplishment. To do it in the manner this group has done it makes it even more special. And now, as we look ahead, Hutton Football Club is entering another hugely significant chapter in its history. Founded in 1928, the club is approaching its centenary. As we look towards 100 years of Hutton Football Club, we can now celebrate another historic milestone — our entry into the FA Cup, one of the most prestigious and iconic competitions in world football. For everyone connected with Hutton, this is a moment to be proud of. But achievements such as these do not happen because of one individual or one group. They are the result of everyone pulling in the same direction, sharing the same belief and putting the club before themselves. On behalf of the Board and Trustees of Hutton Football Club, we would like to place on record our sincere thanks to every person who has played a part in this extraordinary journey. To our players, thank you for your commitment, professionalism and desire to win. You have represented the club with tremendous pride and have created memories that will stay with Hutton for many years to come. To our managers and coaching staff, thank you for your leadership, preparation and countless hours behind the scenes. To our Strength & Conditioning team, physiotherapists and medical staff, thank you for the work that often goes unseen but is absolutely vital to the success of the team. And to our many volunteers and behind-the-scenes supporters, thank you. Football clubs simply do not function without people willing to give their time, energy and expertise. Your contribution is every bit as important as what happens on the pitch. We must also give thanks to Billericay Town FC for the use of their exceptional facilities and our ongoing relationship. Hutton Football Club is built differently to most other clubs. It is something that is difficult to explain until you have experienced it yourself. Once you become part of Hutton, you understand that this is about far more than football. It is about people, relationships, loyalty, shared values and a genuine sense of belonging. That unique spirit has helped take this club from a five-year plan to Step 5 football in just four years. There is, however, no time to rest on our achievements. The coming season brings new challenges, new competitions and new opportunities. The FA Cup awaits, alongside another exciting campaign of league football, and we have every confidence that this group will embrace every challenge that comes their way. As we celebrate what has already been achieved, we also look forward with enormous excitement to what comes next. To the players, managers, coaches, S&C team, physios, volunteers and everyone who has contributed to this journey — thank you. You have helped write another important chapter in the history of Hutton Football Club. As we approach our centenary, we are proud of where we have come from, proud of where we are today, and hugely excited about where we are going. We wish the team every success in all competitions this season. Enjoy the journey. Embrace the challenge. Make history. Up the Ton’s! The Board & Trustees Hutton Football Club

. . . N O I T I S O P P O R U O E M O C L E W E W TODAY,

C F N W O T N E D L A W N O SAFFR CLUB HISTORY Founded in 1872, Saffron Walden Town FC proudly holds the distinction of being the oldest football club in Essex still in existence and one of the oldest football clubs in the world. Affectionately known as The Bloods, the Club has been at the heart of the local community for more than 150 years, with a history built on tradition, pride and a shared passion for the game. The Club began life playing on Saffron Walden Common before establishing a permanent home at Catons Lane, a ground that generations of players, officials, volunteers and supporters have come to know simply as The Meadow. Saffron Walden were among the founding members of the Essex Senior League in 1971, and it did not take long for success to follow. After establishing themselves as one of the leading sides in the competition, the Bloods were crowned Essex Senior League champions in 1973–74, earning promotion to the Eastern Counties League for the 1974–75 season. The decades that followed brought plenty of memorable moments, with the Club competing in both the Eastern Counties League and Isthmian League, as well as enjoying numerous adventures in the FA Cup and FA Vase. Like many non-league clubs, Walden's journey has not always been straightforward, with promotions, relegations and difficult periods all forming part of the story. After a period away from senior football in the early 2000s, the Club was reformed and returned to competitive action, eventually making its way back to Catons Lane. Since then, the Bloods have continued to rebuild and progress, with the support of a dedicated group of volunteers, sponsors and supporters who remain the lifeblood of the Club. Today, Saffron Walden Town compete in the Essex Senior League, continuing a footballing story that began more than a century and a half ago. The ambition remains to progress both on and off the pitch while ensuring the Club remains firmly rooted in the community it represents. Catons Lane continues to be a place where generations come together - from lifelong supporters who have followed the Bloods for decades to youngsters experiencing their first taste of non-league football. Every time the team steps onto the pitch in the famous red and black, they represent far more than the eleven players on the field. They represent over 150 years of Saffron Walden Town Football Club, the players and volunteers who came before them, and the supporters who have stood alongside the Club through every triumph and setback.

N O T T U H B U L C L L A B T O O F Hutton Football Club is an FA Charter Standard Community Football Club. Being part of our community is important to the Club. We expect everyone connected with the Club to be respectful, disciplined and responsible. Our young players will learn the game in a positive environment. Hutton FC is a Club, a team, a family, not individuals.

HUTTON FC HISTORY

The club was founded in 1928 and has been prominent in local football since that time with cup winner’s medals dating back to 1932. A key factor in the continued success of Hutton Football Club is the progression of young, local players. The senior teams played in the Mid Essex League until 1989 when progression was made into the Essex Intermediate, now the Essex Olympian League. The Club expanded rapidly after 2005 with the merger of Hutton FC and Hutton Medway FC (established in 1969). The Club now has over 70 teams based in our local community. Recent history has seen more rapid developments at the club. The Football Association awarded Hutton FC with Charter Standard Community status which is the highest accreditation a club can achieve. In 2005, when the award was granted, there were only nine clubs in the whole of Essex with this status. The Club is very proud to have been awarded Community Club of the year twice by Essex County FA. The club has been encouraging girls to come and play for a number of years. In 2005 the first official Hutton girls’ team was formed and since then our Ladies 1st and reserve teams have been added to help with progression. The Club has been involved in a European Tournament played against professional clubs youth teams with outstanding facilities. The Clubs are; Saint Ingbert (Germany), Rumelange (Luxembourg) and Zandhoven (Belgium). The tournament celebrates its 50th year in 2025. The club house has been at the Polo Fields for over 50 years two previous buildings being destroyed by fire the second one having been struck by lightning. In 2010 the Clubhouse was vandalized and set on fire but repaired and enhanced thanks to a large grant from Sport England. The Polo Fields Clubhouse finally suffered its fate in 2025 when it was demolished due to structural issues. The new home for the club see us at Flints Community Sports Hub where we have a new clubhouse, an excellent playing surface for multiple pitches from 3v3 to 11v11. This project was completed in association with the Football Foundation in 2025. On the pitch, our senior men’s 1st team won the EOFL premier division 2022 / 23 season gaining promotion to the NLS playing in the Thurlow Nunn league south. After 2 consecutive seasons reaching play off positions the team were promoted as Champions to the Essex Senior League 25 /26.

THE ROSEY REPORT

MATT ROSE, FIRST TEAM MANAGER Afternoon all, It’s great to be back at New Lodge as we welcome Saffron Walden Town. I was really pleased with our performance against West Essex in our last game. I thought there were some really positive signs in the way we played and the intensity we showed throughout. It’s a performance we can take plenty of confidence from going into today. The lads have worked really hard in training this past week and I feel we’ve got a lot from the sessions. The work rate and quality have been really good and hopefully that gives us a strong platform to build from this afternoon. Saffron Walden will provide another tough test and we know we’ll have to be at our best. As always, our focus is on ourselves — starting the game well, being aggressive in our approach and making New Lodge a difficult place for teams to come. As always, thank you for your continued support. Get right behind the boys from the first whistle and hopefully we can give you plenty to shout about. Up The Tons Rosey

The Hutton U10 Blues: a top tier squad of absolute legends, hard workers, and genuinely sound lads. We’ve been drilling them on smooth, passing football—meaning when it all clicks, we look really slick. Our finest hour so far? Scooping the U9 Plate at our home tournament last year. The boys are now hungry for more silverware this season! Big thanks to our shirt sponsor Farsound Aviation, the boys look mint.
