Four years ago, Hutton Football Club embarked on an ambitious journey. With a clear five-year plan to reach Step 5 of the National League System, the club set itself a challenging target. It was a vision built on hard work, commitment, belief and, above all, a determination to build something special for Hutton Football Club and the wider community. Last season, that vision became reality. Following promotion from the Essex Olympian League to the Thurlow Nunn League, our incredible squad went on to achieve what we had all dreamed of — winning the league title on the final day of the season and securing our place at Step 5. To achieve that within four years is a remarkable accomplishment. To do it in the manner this group has done it makes it even more special. And now, as we look ahead, Hutton Football Club is entering another hugely significant chapter in its history. Founded in 1928, the club is approaching its centenary. As we look towards 100 years of Hutton Football Club, we can now celebrate another historic milestone — our entry into the FA Cup, one of the most prestigious and iconic competitions in world football. For everyone connected with Hutton, this is a moment to be proud of. But achievements such as these do not happen because of one individual or one group. They are the result of everyone pulling in the same direction, sharing the same belief and putting the club before themselves. On behalf of the Board and Trustees of Hutton Football Club, we would like to place on record our sincere thanks to every person who has played a part in this extraordinary journey. To our players, thank you for your commitment, professionalism and desire to win. You have represented the club with tremendous pride and have created memories that will stay with Hutton for many years to come. To our managers and coaching staff, thank you for your leadership, preparation and countless hours behind the scenes. To our Strength & Conditioning team, physiotherapists and medical staff, thank you for the work that often goes unseen but is absolutely vital to the success of the team. And to our many volunteers and behind-the-scenes supporters, thank you. Football clubs simply do not function without people willing to give their time, energy and expertise. Your contribution is every bit as important as what happens on the pitch. We must also give thanks to Billericay Town FC for the use of their exceptional facilities and our ongoing relationship. Hutton Football Club is built differently to most other clubs. It is something that is difficult to explain until you have experienced it yourself. Once you become part of Hutton, you understand that this is about far more than football. It is about people, relationships, loyalty, shared values and a genuine sense of belonging. That unique spirit has helped take this club from a five-year plan to Step 5 football in just four years. There is, however, no time to rest on our achievements. The coming season brings new challenges, new competitions and new opportunities. The FA Cup awaits, alongside another exciting campaign of league football, and we have every confidence that this group will embrace every challenge that comes their way. As we celebrate what has already been achieved, we also look forward with enormous excitement to what comes next. To the players, managers, coaches, S&C team, physios, volunteers and everyone who has contributed to this journey — thank you. You have helped write another important chapter in the history of Hutton Football Club. As we approach our centenary, we are proud of where we have come from, proud of where we are today, and hugely excited about where we are going. We wish the team every success in all competitions this season. Enjoy the journey. Embrace the challenge. Make history. Up the Ton’s! The Board & Trustees Hutton Football Club

CLUB HISTORY Barking FC’s footballing story stretches back to the 19th century and the formation of Barking Rovers, who moved to the Vicarage Field in 1881. Their first match there was a 2-0 victory over Ilford in October of that year. By the end of the decade, damage to the cricket square forced the footballers to move to the Eastbury Field, and Barking Rovers disappeared during the 1890/91 season. Woodville became the next club to occupy the Vicarage Field, adopting the name Barking Woodville after moving from Forest Gate in 1895. A rival Barking FC was formed but lasted only one season, reaching the West Ham Charity Cup final before losing to Thames Ironworks after two replays. Five years later, Thames Ironworks would become West Ham United. The Barking Working Lads Institute subsequently emerged and took over from Woodville. In March 1901, the Institute secured a lease on the Vicarage Field and, before the 1902/03 season, dropped ‘Institute’ from its name to become Barking FC. The early decades brought considerable success. Barking reached four successive FA Amateur Cup quarter-finals around 1910 and won the London Senior Cup for the first time in 1912. After the First World War, Barking Town won the Essex Senior Cup in 1919/20 and the London League the following season. The 1920s proved a golden era, culminating in an Amateur Cup final appearance in 1927, although Leyton won 3-1. Barking won the Athenian League title in 1934/35, but the Second World War brought disruption. The Vicarage Field was commandeered for military use and Barking folded during the Blitz in 1940. After the war, the club faced further difficulties while the Vicarage Field remained unavailable. Barking eventually recovered, reaching the Amateur Cup semi-final in 1949/50 and finishing fourth in the league. In 1952/53, Barking joined the Isthmian League. Their best finish of the decade was fifth in 1955/56, while a 14-year-old Bobby Moore made his debut for the club’s A team in November 1955. The 1960s were initially difficult, but the decade ended strongly. Barking twice won the Mithras Cup, reached two Amateur Cup quarter-finals and finished fourth in the Isthmian League in 1969/70. Eddie McCluskey became manager in 1970 and remained until 1980. During this period Barking moved from the Vicarage Field to Mayesbrook Park. The club’s greatest league success followed in 1978/79, when Barking won the Isthmian League championship with 93 points. They also enjoyed impressive FA Cup runs, defeating Oxford United in 1979/80 before losing to Reading. The following decades brought a gradual decline. Barking suffered their first-ever relegation in 1990/91 and dropped to Division Two in 1996. There were still memorable moments, including an FA Vase fifth-round appearance in 1996/97 and promotion back to Division One in 2000/01. Following restructuring and financial difficulties, Barking were relegated to the Essex Senior League in 2006. The club gradually rebuilt and, in 2016/17, won the Essex Senior League title with 100 points and 125 goals, returning to the Isthmian League. After the disruption of the COVID-19 pandemic, Barking were relegated again in 2022. Nick Harding led the club to the Errington Challenge Cup in 2023, while subsequent seasons brought repeated promotion play-off appearances. In 2025/26, Barking won the Peter Butcher Memorial Trophy and reached the promotion play-off final for the first time. Buckhurst Hill won that final by a single goal. As Barking enters its third century, the ambition remains to climb as high as possible while continuing its role in the local community as an FA Charter Standard club.

N O T T U H B U L C L L A B T O O F Hutton Football Club is an FA Charter Standard Community Football Club. Being part of our community is important to the Club. We expect everyone connected with the Club to be respectful, disciplined and responsible. Our young players will learn the game in a positive environment. Hutton FC is a Club, a team, a family, not individuals.

HUTTON FC HISTORY

The club was founded in 1928 and has been prominent in local football since that time with cup winner’s medals dating back to 1932. A key factor in the continued success of Hutton Football Club is the progression of young, local players. The senior teams played in the Mid Essex League until 1989 when progression was made into the Essex Intermediate, now the Essex Olympian League. The Club expanded rapidly after 2005 with the merger of Hutton FC and Hutton Medway FC (established in 1969). The Club now has over 70 teams based in our local community. Recent history has seen more rapid developments at the club. The Football Association awarded Hutton FC with Charter Standard Community status which is the highest accreditation a club can achieve. In 2005, when the award was granted, there were only nine clubs in the whole of Essex with this status. The Club is very proud to have been awarded Community Club of the year twice by Essex County FA. The club has been encouraging girls to come and play for a number of years. In 2005 the first official Hutton girls’ team was formed and since then our Ladies 1st and reserve teams have been added to help with progression. The Club has been involved in a European Tournament played against professional clubs youth teams with outstanding facilities. The Clubs are; Saint Ingbert (Germany), Rumelange (Luxembourg) and Zandhoven (Belgium). The tournament celebrates its 50th year in 2025. The club house has been at the Polo Fields for over 50 years two previous buildings being destroyed by fire the second one having been struck by lightning. In 2010 the Clubhouse was vandalized and set on fire but repaired and enhanced thanks to a large grant from Sport England. The Polo Fields Clubhouse finally suffered its fate in 2025 when it was demolished due to structural issues. The new home for the club see us at Flints Community Sports Hub where we have a new clubhouse, an excellent playing surface for multiple pitches from 3v3 to 11v11. This project was completed in association with the Football Foundation in 2025. On the pitch, our senior men’s 1st team won the EOFL premier division 2022 / 23 season gaining promotion to the NLS playing in the Thurlow Nunn league south. After 2 consecutive seasons reaching play off positions the team were promoted as Champions to the Essex Senior League 25 /26.

THE ROSEY REPORT

MATT ROSE, FIRST TEAM MANAGER Afternoon all, It’s great to be back at New Lodge as we welcome Barking FC for our first home league game of the season. It seems crazy that we’re now in the middle of September and only just playing our first home league game! It’s been a busy start with the cup competitions, including some great occasions for the club in our first ever FA Cup campaign, but we’re looking forward to turning our focus to the league. I’ve been really happy with our recent performances. We’ve had a few forced changes in personnel already this season through injuries and availability, but I think the way the group has responded has shown the strength and quality we’ve got within the squad. Different players have stepped up when given opportunities and, despite the changes, I feel our performances have been at a really good level. We know Barking will give us a tough test today, but our focus is very much on ourselves. We want to bring the same intensity and togetherness we’ve shown recently, impose ourselves on the game and put in a performance that reflects the standards we’ve set. As always, thank you for your continued support. Get right behind the boys today and hopefully we can give you another performance to be proud of. Up The Tons Rosey
