Fotheringay Centre, Pollokshields Plan your perfect Wedding Ceremony

The beautiful red sandstone Fotheringay Centre, stands in the leafy suburb of Pollokshields.

Situated on the corner of Beaton Road and Fotheringay Road, it is the perfect setting for a quiet, low key event.

The church opened in the early 1900s and was acquired from the Pollokshields United Reform Church and restored by Hutchesons’ Grammar School.

It was officially opened by the school in 2004, and houses a large auditorium and lecture theatre.

Our beautiful Auditorium can accommodate up to 200 seated guests for your wedding ceremony. There is also the adjacent Georgeson Room, which could be used for a small drinks reception. The Auditorium opens out onto a private garden to the front, where guests can mingle after the ceremony. A beautiful spot on a sunny afternoon before heading to your chosen Reception venue.

The Fotheringay Auditorium offers you a blank canvas for you to create your perfect wedding ceremony. Our neutral decor, with the traditional stained glass windows makes for an impressive back drop. You are free to decorate the hall to your own taste, for your special day.

The Fotheringay is also very close to Maxwell Park, the perfect place to have those memorable wedding photos taken.

We are in a beautiful location on the southside of Glasgow, just 15 minutes by car from Glasgow City Centre. It is also easily accessed by train and motorway.

Auditorium

Afternoon / early evening rehearsal the day before.

(comfortably seats up to 180 guests)

Georgeson Room

Access from 11am on your chosen date, for flowers to be delivered and decoration, followed by your Wedding Ceremony during the afternoon.

Access from 11am on your chosen date for decoration and set up, followed by a small drinks reception after the Wedding Ceremony.

(Please note that this cost is for room hire only).

Use of Bosendorfer Rehearsal at an agreed time. Use of piano for the Wedding Piano Ceremony.

The cost includes a janitor on duty at all times, cleaning before and after your event, and the setting up of chairs in the Auditorium, as per your requirements. There is also a microphone available for use if required.

NB. The prices are for a Saturday or Sunday wedding. We are only able to accommodate weddings on other days of the week during school holidays.

It is very important that you obtain a licence to be married in the Fotheringay. We recommend that you do this at the time of booking. Please refer to www.nrscotland.gov.uk for further guidance.
