THE EASIEST WAY TO RESTORE A CONCRETE FLOOR Concrete grinding is the simplest and most efficient method for leveling and restoring a concrete floor. A good floor grinder equipped with diamond tools will quickly loosen old floor coatings such as paint, epoxy or carpet glue. While the grinder removes coatings it also creates the perfect base for a new floor covering or polishing application.

WHY CHOOSE GRINDING OVER OTHER REMOVAL METHODS? Traditional methods used to remove old coverings require a lot of additional work. When grinding, the rotating discs work horizontally, enabling a far more even and flat surface with minimal need for additional work.

Blasted concrete is full of pores and irregularities. A significant amount of additional work – liquid leveling compound, drying and another round of blasting – is needed to ready the surface for the final floor covering.

A scarified surface is uneven and rough. Before a final finish can be applied, a lot of leveling compound and several hours of work are needed.

Grinding a concrete surface exposes a clean and even floor. It is the perfect base to start most applications.

Thinner floor coverings such as paint, plastic or vinyl instantly reveal whether or not the base is completely smooth.

Stronger floor coverings such as ceramic floor tiles, textile matting or epoxy are less sensitive to irregularities in the surface. Still, it is very important to remove the old floor covering and create a clean, bare and even surface.

Of the small grinders, the PG 450 is also capable of creating a HIPERFLOOR, a complete concrete surface finishing system, in addition to surface leveling and coating removal.

PERFECT FOR MANY DIFFERENT APPLICATIONS Husqvarna floor grinders are very versatile machines. Different applications can be performed with the same machine, simply by changing the diamond tooling.

When the surface of older concrete is ground away, it exposes stronger concrete. This also makes the surface level even and reduces the need for follow-up work.

5 mm of epoxy, leveling compound, linoleum or plastic matting can be removed with the right tool. Husqvarna floor grinders can even grind through carpet glue. This makes the floor ready for new floor covering â€“ quickly and easily.

REMOVING THIN COATINGS

RESTORATION OF NATURAL STONE FLOORS AND TERRAZZO

Thin coatings of glue, paint or epoxy can easily be removed by floor grinding. Irregularities present in a liquid leveling compound can be ground to improve adhesion of a new coat on top of the old one. In addition the quantity of primer/ compound needed can be reduced because of the optimised roughness of the concrete.

Applications are not limited to concrete. With our new Hiperflex pads you can restore natural stone floors and terrazzo.

Husqvarna CG 200 is a highly productive scarifier, designed for heavy-duty removal jobs. Applications include removing coatings (even heavy floor tile mastics and rubbery elastomeric or epoxy materials), light or heavy milling, grooving walkways to make them slip resistant, removing trip hazards in sidewalks, and levelling misaligned concrete joints and uneven surfaces. Equipped with vibration-damping handles for operator comfort, millimetre adjustment for precise depth of operation setting and central exhaust for dust extraction for a cleaner working environment.

SINGLE SEGMENT VS DOUBLE SEGMENT

HALF SET – Diamonds are placed at three alternating positions (or four on the PG 400) on the diamond holder disc. When using a half set, the diamonds tend to follow the surface of the floor. This puts more weight per square inch on the diamond tooling, making it grind more aggresively on hard floors. It does not completely flatten the floor.

SINGLE SEGMENT – Working with a single segment will increase the pressure on each segment. This will lead to more aggressive and increased productivity; however, the life of the tool will be shorter.

FULL SET – Diamonds are placed at each of the six positions (or nine on the PG 400) on the diamond holder disc. The full set is used when a flat floor is desired. If the floor has undulations, the machine will grind the high areas and miss the low spots. The result is a smooth surface.

DOUBLE SEGMENT – Working with a double segment will decrease the pressure on each segment, reducing the wear rate on the diamond segments. This will lead to a smoother scratch pattern, and will also reduce the load on the machine.

OUR H-CLASSIFIED DUST EXTRACTORS MEET THE HIGHEST STANDARD The H-classification is an international standard that certifies the entire product, not only the filters. The international standard for testing wet and dry extractors, dust extractors (IEC 60335-2-69, EN-60335-2-69), is classified into three categories – L for low, M for medium and H for high – where the H category is the most stringent, not to be confused with the “H” in HEPA H 13. Certified Husqvarna dust extractors (Husqvarna S 13, S 26, S 36 and T 7500) meet the high (H) standard since it’s the most stringent and suitable when working with hazardous material such as silica dust.

WHAT IS A HEPA H13 FILTER? HEPA is an acronym for High Efficiency Particulate Air filters. The strict HEPA standard (EN 1822-1) is divided into different levels (E10 to H14) depending on filtration efficiency. Husqvarna applies level H13, which is designed to separate up to 99.95% of the particles between 0.15 and 0.30 μm in size. This particle size is the hardest to separate – both larger and smaller particles are easier to capture in a filter. In addition, Husqvarna tests each filter individually before delivery to approve that the filter really fulfils the HEPA H13 standard.

Everything is covered by a fixed quarterly fee that you can budget in advance. In addition to urgent repairs, UpCare ensures that your machine gets the routine maintenance prescribed in the service plan. This reduces the risk of unplanned downtime in the future and allows you to schedule so that you can minimise disruptions in your operations.

If your equipment is experiencing acute operational problems, just contact the nearest Husqvarna Service Centre, which will solve the problem within 5 days.
