Making a difference for our customers. We want you to have the power. But not just any power. We only count the power you can benefit from. That's the force on the blade, the force that performs the job.   Husqvarna engines, motors and transmissions are among the most efficient on the market, but even so, we believe that the difference between input and output power is important. As a customer you need to know the power value that you will find useful in your daily work.   Therefore, we primarily specify the output power value on the drive shaft for our machines. Otherwise, we declare clearly that we are specifying the input power.   The above may sound obvious, but in our industry there are those who specify the input power value for their machines, which reads a higher value.   Is the strongest machine always the most productive? No, not always. Even if you make a saw cut five minutes faster with a stronger machine, a smaller machine is still more productive if it takes 15 minutes less to transport and set up. This is the Husqvarna way of thinking, to make the whole working day as productive as possible for our customers.   This year we will continue to launch new and exciting products that make work easier and more efficient. One example is the new PG 820 RC, the first selfpropelled floor grinding machine in the world that combines a user-friendly remote control with our patented Dual Drive Technology™ for planetary drive. This is a combination that allows a significant increase in productivity, and also decreases the physical strain on the operator.   All Husqvarna products are efficient and ergonomic to use, and of course it should also be easy to get help with service and repairs. Therefore, we will continue to expand our network of Husqvarna customer support and service centers. Read more about this and many other things in this issue of Product News.

HUSQVARNA R&D MAKING A DIFFERENCE

Customer-focused innovation. Innovation is one of the main driving forces at Husqvarna. Every time we develop a new product or improve an existing design, our focus is on the benefit to our customers. Our goal is to make your experience with Husqvarna equipment more user-friendly, easier to handle, less strenuous to work with, more timesaving and easier to service than other equipment. We believe it matters for you, your health and your profit.   A recent example of innovation that has made a huge difference is the PRIME product range. This convenient electric equipment is powerful enough to replace hydraulic cutting and drilling equipment on almost every job. Accordingly, our PRIME equipment has become a success among users who appreciate the low weight, high power and great usability. “A gamechanger in our industry” they say.

The difference is in the details. The list of Husqvarna innovations during recent years includes a variety of products with a strong focus on user benefits, such as the Husqvarna AD 10 automatic drilling, Husqvarna FS 7000 D and FS 5000 D which lower the emissions dramatically for large flat saws, and the new versions of Husqvarna K 760 and K 970 where every detail has been reviewed and optimized for superior reliability, efficiency and usability.   So next time you lay your hands on a Husqvarna machine, you can be totally confident that not one single detail was left to chance.

“Performance and reliability are of course key, however usability and ergonomics are also critical in product development. Once you get your hands on something that feels and works better, you stay with it.” JOAKIM ED, DIRECTOR R&D

NEW HUSQVARNA DS 900

Turning power into force. Precision drilling of deep holes, or holes with very big diameters, is a job that demands not only a very powerful drill motor such as the Husqvarna DM 650, but also a drill stand that is rigid and stable enough to transform the enormous power and torque into productive force.   The new Husqvarna DS 900, built with a solid heavy-duty aluminum column borrowed from our wall saw rails, is designed to do just that. The feed carriage is machined out of solid aluminium too, and developed specifically to suit the DM 650. The double back support and robust base plate are made of welded steel profiles.   If you already have a WS 482 or WS 440 wall saw rail, you can complete it with an attachment kit including the feed carriage, base plate and back support, to transform it into a DS 900 stand.

“We recently sent one man to drill 300 - 4" (100mm) holes through 24" (610mm) of heavily reinforced concrete wall. He averaged over 30 holes a day. Nearly double what we expected! We are extremely pleased with our DM 650s.” JAKE MYERS, M6 CUTTING AND CORING

NEW HUSQVARNA DS 900 A new, robust drill stand for drilling large diameters.Recommended with Husqvarna DM 650 or DM 406 H. Easy to install and use.

EASY, ERGONOMIC AND EFFICIENT

AUTOMATIC DRILLING THE HUSQVARNA WAY Husqvarna AD 10, our automatic drill feed unit, communicates with the drill motor to optimize the feed rate. This results in faster drilling and less wear on the diamond tool. Best of all, you can work more efficiently when you do not have to crank the feed by hand. The system consists of the AD 10 together with DM 280 or DM 340 drill motor and DS 450 drill stand. For maximum drilling performance, we recommend drill bits from the Diagrip™ series.

NEW HUSQVARNA DIAMOND TOOL CONCEPT

The right diamond tool for every need. If you’re a concrete cutting specialist working with cutting and drilling, you have other demands on the diamond tools than a paving or pipe laying contractor. For a construction worker who cuts occasionally in different materials during a work day, a durable all-around diamond blade is often the best choice. On the other hand, choosing an optimal tool for a specific cutting or drilling job can make a huge difference in time and cost for the specialized user. To help you find the best tool for your job, Husqvarna diamond tools are divided into three performance categories: Professional, Premium and Quality.

PROFESSIONAL DIAMOND TOOLS

PREMIUM DIAMOND TOOLS

QUALITY DIAMOND TOOLS

Developed for intense professional use in specialist applications. Provides maximum cutting speed and wear resistance in heavy cutting and drilling. Husqvarna Professional tools have a Gold label.

Developed for professional use in allaround applications. Provides high cutting speed and wear resistance in all cutting and drilling. Husqvarna Premium tools have a Silver label.

Developed for occasional use. Provides a good balance between performance and price in common cutting applications. Husqvarna Quality tools have a Bronze label.

Recommendation chart. For cutting in harder materials, a tool with a softer bond works best because the diamonds are exposed faster, which means faster cutting. When working in softer or more abrasive materials, a tool with a harder bond works best because of greater resistance to abrasion. The tool’s suitability for different materials is indicated by the following scale: Optimal •••= =Good ••= Acceptable •  ― = Not recommended

16

Recommendation charts can be found in the product list and also in the interactive Tool Guide available on our website. For handheld applications, the tool packaging clearly shows which material the blade is optimized for.

“Increased cutting speed and blade life at a slightly increased entry price has proven its value to our customers. The Vari-Cut™ and Vari-Cut™ Turbo have been a great addition to our product mix and have proven that value can be more important than cost.” CRAIG MACFARLANE JR., CLAYTON BLOCK COMPANY

HUSQVARNA VARI-CUT™ Vari-Cut™ is a new family of diamond blades for power cutters and small flat saws. Vari-Cu™ blades have good performance and deliver high cutting speed with good service life in frequent, all-around use. This product family is launched with three versions for cutting in different materials, all clearly indicated on the packaging. 17
