Huskies Win Final NCC Championship The Huskies won their 15th North Central Conference title and their seventh consecutive NCC crown in 2008. The 2008 NCC tournament marked the final chapter in the Huskies amazing success story in the North Central Conference, as the NCC disbanded at the end of the 2007-08 academic year.

In 2008, SCSU's Wojciech Batorski claimed top honors at 1st singles, while other NCC titles were won by Mike Master at #2 singles, Joey Jachymowski at #3 singles, Ryan Schoenefeld at #5 singles and Shane Ecklund at #6 singles. SCSU also won NCC crowns last year at #1 doubles (Batorski/Master), #2 doubles (Jachymowski/Schoenefeld) and #3 doubles (Kevin Lukens and Kevin Bauleke).

A member of the NCC since 1982, the Huskies won 15 conference championships from 1982-2008. SCSU has also earned eight consecutive NCAA Division II tournament bids dating back to the 2001 season.

SCSU Coach Profile Head Coach Jerry Anderson St. Cloud State men's tennis coach Jerry Anderson begins his 12th season with the Huskies in 2009.

Anderson has directed the Huskies to first place finishes in the North Central Conference in 1998, 1999, 2002, 2003, 2004, 2005, 2006, 2007 and 2008. Anderson owns a career record at SCSU of 199-83. In 2002, SCSU set a new team record for dual meet wins at 24-7, and also qualified for the NCAA Division II regional tournament. Of note, the Huskies have gained seven consecutive NCAA Division II tournament bids under the leadership of Coach Anderson (2007, 2006, 2005, 2004, 2003, 2002 and 2001).

A member of the St. Cloud State University tennis team from 1982-1984, Anderson served as a team captain during his senior campaign in 1984. At Willmar Community College, Anderson earned All-Region 13 honors and earned a trip to the NJCAA national championships in 1981.

Anderson graduated from SCSU in 1984, with a degree in physical education, a minor in athletic coaching and driver education certification.

He has been an assistant professor at SCSU since 1985.

He also serves as the assistant girls' tennis coach at Monticello High School and served as the boys' and girls' junior varsity tennis coach at Anoka Senior High School from 1993 to 1995.

Anderson is a resident of Big Lake.

SCSU Assistant Coaches Assistant Coach Larry Sundby Larry Sundby begins his fourthseason as an assistant coach at SCSU, after serving for 18 seasons as the women's head coach.

In 18 seasons at SCSU, Sundby compiled a 311-129 record and led the Huskies to three North Central Conference titles in 1988, 1990 and 1991. He was voted the North Central Conference Coach of the Year in 1988 and 1991. Sundby also led SCSU to NCAA Division II tournament bids in 1995, 2003, 2004 and 2005.

Sundby is in his 30th season overall as a high school and collegiate tennis coach. As a tennis head coach, his teams compiled a 442-172 overall record. He was recognized as the Minnesota High School Girl’s Class AA Tennis Coach of the Year in 1992.

Sundby is a professor emeritus of accounting at St. Cloud State University.

Assistant Coach Scott Johnson Scott Johnson has brought valuable experience to the SCSU tennis program over the past several seasons.

As a volunteer coach, Johnson works in the areas of singles and doubles strategy, stroke development and practice drilling. Johnson is a faculty member in the College of Business.

Assistant Coach Mark Muntifering Mark Muntifering is the tennis director at Gold's Gym Tennis Center in Sartell. He is also the head boys' and girls' tennis coach at St. Cloud Apollo H.S., where he has been recognized as the Minnesota High School "Coach of the Year" for both teams. He has also been recognized by the Northern Section of the USTA for his community volunteer work in promoting tennis.
