Ola, how are you feeling now you’re five months pregnant?

Ola ‘I feel great! At the beginning I was nervous all the time, but I’m enjoying every minute of my pregnancy now.’

James ‘It’s better now Ola’s not suffering from morning sickness. For the first 15 weeks she threw up every single day.’

Do you have different doctor’s appointments because you conceived through IVF? J ‘At the very beginning you do.

You have a few more scans for a start, to check everything’s progressing as it should be.’

O ‘I had to have my first scan at seven weeks, when it’s normally 12 for a regular pregnancy. I’ve had around eight scans so far.’

You fell pregnant after one round of IVF. Had you discussed how many times you’d try if it hadn’t been successful?

O ‘No, because you need to find out for yourself how many times you can undergo the process. It affects you as much mentally as it does physically.’

J ‘The waiting messes with your head. Ola had to wait to see how many eggs she could make, then they have to be the right size to be fertilised.

After that came the worry of seeing how many had survived…’

Would you have fostered or adopted if you hadn’t fallen pregnant?

J ‘We agreed not to, but that was at the beginning of our journey.’

O ‘We might have changed our minds, though.’

My only regret about having kids later is I didn’t want to be an old dad

Do you wish you hadn’t put babies on hold to focus on your careers?

O ‘No – we weren’t ready back then.’

J ‘My only regret is that I always said I didn’t want to be an old dad.

Would I have wanted kids younger? Yes, but I wouldn’t change our lives either.’

Our Christmas shoot recreates the 1950s, when a woman’s place was in the home. Do you think if you’d grown up in that era you’d have a family by now?

O ‘Probably. It depends if we were still professional dancers, though.’

J ‘If we hadn’t had the career we had, we would definitely have had children younger.’

Do you think women had it better in the 1950s without the pressure to have a family and a career?

J ‘In a way. People frown on women that stay at home and raise a family these days, whereas they wouldn’t have done in the 1950s.’ celebritysecrets.com

O ‘The good thing about today is that you have the choice. You’re no longer expected to solely be a good wife and mother.’

Would you say you follow more traditional roles at home?

O ‘We follow that to a certain extent. We have “blue” jobs and “pink” jobs, in the sense that I cook and do the washing.

James hasn’t got a clue how to work the washing machine – or cook a meal, for that matter!’

Raising a child as gender neutral is ridiculous in my opinion J ‘I’d poison her! I cut the grass, wash the car and take the bins out.

I do the ironing though – and I’m constantly hoovering the house.

But overall we’re fairly traditional.’

What are your thoughts about raising your child when he or she is born? Many celebrities plan on raising their kids as gender neutral…

J ‘In my opinion it’s ridiculous!’

O ‘For us it’s going to either be a boy or a girl.’

J ‘It isn’t even up for discussion for us. When we go to find out what sex the baby is, they’re not going to say, “oh, it’s gender neutral.” It’s either a boy or a girl – and that’s a scientific fact.

Men and women are different.’

O ‘Don’t get me wrong, if we have a boy and he wants to be a girl when he’s older, then that’s fine.’

J ‘That’s his choice – it’s not our decision.’

So next Christmas there’ll be genderspecific presents under the tree?

J ‘Without a doubt. Blue or pink. He plays with cars or she plays with dolls.

Boys are boys – and girls are girls.

That’s the beautiful thing about life.’

This is the last Christmas as just the two of you. What are your plans?

O ‘We’re performing in panto in Redhill – and the only day we get off is Christmas Day! I’ll be six months’ pregnant but I think we’ll be fine, as any show has to be easier than Strictly…’

O ‘We’re normally with family, but this year it’s going to be the two of us.’

J ‘It’ll be nice as next Christmas will be totally different! We’ll watch Home Alone and eat lots of chocolate. I’ll be on the Baileys – while Ola can have a glass of milk!’

When do you start your Christmas shopping?

Do you set a budget in place?

‘No, but I like to think I’m quite good with money. On the one hand I want to spoil those I love, but I don’t go crazy. It’s the thought that counts – and not what you spend. Selfridges is my store of choice because you can get everything you need under one roof. I always put the most effort into my mum and dad’s presents, as I like to treat them at Christmas.’

What’s the best gift you’ve ever received?

‘I’ll never forget being 16, when I was desperate for a particular make-up kit. I’d been on about it for months and my mum told me she wasn’t going to buy it for me.

Interview Lynn Carratt I’M EXCITED FOR CHRISTMAS ‘We spend the holidays at home as a family, and it’s always a big deal in our house with lots of tacky decorations. I go full-on – I’ll do a snow village and singing Santas, the lot! My older sister often does the cooking because she’s so good at it. We’ll have Champagne in the morning with smoked salmon, then carry on eating for the rest of the day. We also drink a lot of Baileys – Christmas without it would be wrong!’

I ONCE RUINED THE TURKEY ‘I forgot to take the giblets out, meaning it was full of melted plastic when I took it out of the oven – the whole bird got chucked in the bin! One year I also told the family they could eat anything they wanted. My kids had spaghetti with chocolate sauce, and my husband Mark chose Nutella sandwiches. But my mother-in-law wanted a full dinner, so I still had to cook one anyway! Christmas is exhausting.’

75g Primula Cheese ‘n’ Paprika 2 tortillas

1 cup shredded red cabbage

1 chicken breast, cooked and sliced

Flamin’ hot fajitas

3 tbsp sweetcorn

3 tbsp tinned black beans 1 tsp olive oil

1. Place a generous layer of Primula Cheese ‘n’ Paprika on a tortilla.

1 pizza dough, ready bought 1 tbsp tomato puree 75g Primula Cheese ‘n’ Jalapeños

1 tsp olive oil

� 50g chorizo, sliced

Coriander

� ½ red onion, sliced

Salad

1. Heat the oil in a frying pan over a medium heat.

2. Coat the chicken with paprika powder. Add the chicken, onions and peppers to a pan and cook until the chicken is cooked all the way through.

3. Fill the wrap with salad, the chicken mixture, avocado and a generous squeeze of Primula Cheese ‘n’ Jalapeños.

4. Top with coriander and serve.

Hot jalapeño mini pizzas

� 4 slices Parma ham

2 tomatoes, chopped

1. Pre-heat your oven to 220°C. 2. Roll out the pizza dough thinly.

3. Cut out to your desired size of mini pizza and spread a thin layer of tomato puree on top.
