A Message from the Chairman

2020 was our first experience with a whole new environment to work, play and interact socially in ways none of us had ever experienced. Out of those circumstances, our organization, in each of its components–HUNT Real Estate ERA, HUNT Mortgage, Network Title Agency and HUNT Insurance–experienced our best year in our 109year history. To better that in 2021, as another year marked by COVID-19 restrictions and even a new variant of the virus, seemed almost impossible particularly with a goal to grow by more than 13%. Yet we were able to continue to adapt and modify our interpersonal and sales behaviors almost on the fly to exceed our goals and our record year in 2020 by 20+%–over $3.7 billion in both closed and written residential sales, our commercial brokerage closed business improved 71%, Network Title closed business grew by 45% to $890 million, HUNT Mortgage closings were up 21% to $609 million, and HUNT Insurance premium revenue was up 40%. The total closed volume collectively was $5.399 billion! Most striking is the fact that our residential Sales Professionals earned and were paid an additional $17.4 million more than was earned in 2020!

Those honored on the following pages represent our greatest performers. They were able to harness the most sophisticated technology infrastructure in the industry, work effectively and safely, with the finest support staff anywhere, “always there for you”, to build healthy and sustainable relationships with our customers, delivering the key elements of the customer experience. As “successful professionals, growing profitably, delivering superior experiences”, they demonstrated their ability to thrive under changing business rules, through creativity, resourcefulness, and a mastery of our profession, while utilizing our superior products, and then delivering on the key elements of the customer experience: personalized service and professional expertise.

Our Regional Awards Celebrations, delivered in person once again, were wonderful and welcome experiences to once again be with one another and to honor our exceptional Professionals. It was also an opportunity to pause and give thanks for the good fortune that our combined efforts have brought to many people. As the world-wide health crisis dragged on, our people were generous again last year, giving of their time, talents and treasures to support the United Way and other worthy causes, and even those in need within our organization. As I have said many times, collectively our HUNT family—everyone in our organization—are the most generous group in the industry, more generous than any of our competitors. Allow me to formally thank you for your generosity and for the way you rally to help others.

Please accept my thanks for many jobs very well done throughout the organization, for seeing our Vision, living our Mission, respecting our Core Values and building on our Core Competency–relationship building. With a war raging in Eastern Europe, inflationary pressures, rising interest rates and continued uncertainty around the pandemic, our technological, marketing, financial management as well as our professional skill level will continue to be tested in 2022. Rest assured we will stay on top through constant innovation and improved productivity, leading the industry as we move through our 111th year of continuous service as a family-owned and operated enterprise, “One Company, Your Team”. And as we celebrate a great year and look forward, please accept our very best wishes for your best year ever in 2022!
