If possible, have someone else take your measurements. Your measurements will be more accurate if you use a cloth measuring tape or string and less accurate if you use a metal tape measure or yardstick. If your measurements fall between two sizes, order the larger size.
If you are measuring yourself, it helps to stand in front of a mirror. All manufacturers use slightly different sizing. Do not order uniform components based on what you regularly wear, or even on what you have ordered from here before. Sizes may change with updates or when new items are added.
Note: Take measurements based on how you want your clothing to fit. For example, if you like to wear looser fitting clothing or prefer more room in certain areas, select clothing that is one size larger than your exact measurements indicate.
Cloth measuring tape (preferred option): When using a cloth measuring tape, hold the tape straight but not tight. Measure over undergarments or other clothing worn under your uniform. Make sure there aren’t any twists.
String measurement (alternate option): If you use a string, hold it straight but not tight. Measure over undergarments or other clothing worn under your uniform. Pinch the string at your mark and then lay it over a metal tape measure or yardstick to obtain the measurement.
CHEST: Measure around the fullest part of the chest, holding the tape under the arms and wrapping the tape all the way around the torso. Note the measurement where two points meet (see measurement A).
WAIST: Measure where you feel most comfortable wearing your pants (see measurement B). An alternate option is to place a pair of well-fitting pants that are zipped and buttoned on a flat surface then measure across the waistband of the pants. Doubling this measurement gives you your waist size.
HIPS: Measure around the fullest part of the hips, which is usually just below the point of the hip bone (see measurement C). Hold the tape measure straight and level.
INSEAM LENGTH: Option 1—Wearing the shoes you intend to wear with the uniform pants, measure from the point where you like your crotch seam to lay to where you want the bottom of the pant leg, usually about an inch above the bottom of your heel when measured by another person (see measurement D). Option 2— If you are taking the measurement yourself, lay out a similarly styled pair of pants flat with the zipper facing up. Expose the inseam and straighten the leg. Measure from the crotch seam to the bottom of the pant leg.
SLEEVE: Measure from the center of the neck at the back of the collar, over the shoulder, along the arm, to the wrist (see measurement E). Alternatively, use the marked sleeve length sizing from a dress shirt that fits you properly.
HEAD: Wear a hat that fits you well. Note the location of where the hat band lays. Take off your hat and measure around your head at the same location as the hat you took off (see measurement F).
NECK: On a shirt that fits you well, lay the collar flat. Measure the collar from the center of the collar button to the far end of the collar buttonhole (see measurement G in the neck measurement drawing). An alternate option is to measure comfortably around your neck.
General Maintenance of Polyester & Wool Garments.
• Follow all care instructions indicated on the label sewn into every gar ment.
• Brush your uniform regularly to remove surface dirt.
• When wet, don’t dry uniform in direct sun or near severe heat.
• When not in use, hang your uniform coat and slacks on wooden hangers. Slacks should be hung at full length by the cuffs.
• Avoid carrying pointed, sharp or heavy objects in the pockets.
• Have more than one uniform and alternate wearing. This will substantially extend the life of your uniform.
The Problem of Perspiration: Perspiration can have a harmful effect on fabrics. It can result in a loss of fabric strength. To prevent this from developing, the following precautions should be taken.
-Dry cleaning solvents do not remove perspiration from a fabric. Affected areas should be called to the attention of your dry cleaner, they will flush them with moisture from a steam spotting gun prior to dry cleaning.
-Although worsted and worsted blend fabrics may not be laundered, a perspiration affected area may be placed over a towel and blotted with a damp sponge. The area should then be blotted vigorously between two dry towels, and set to air dry.
What to do about spots and stains:
The following are simple procedures for removing or reducing common stains from uniform fabrics by using common household items:
Chemicals and materials needed: Rubbing Alcohol - Sponge - Naptha: Blotter Paper - White Vinegar - White Petroleum Jelly - Glycerin - AmmoniaStarch -Detergent -Soft Toothbrush
Type of stain: Solution
Butter, Cooking Oil, Blood: Sponge and flush with Naptha, feather out and dry. Sponge with water, dry; sponge and flush with naptha, feather out and dry. Coffee, Tea, Ketchup: Sponge with water, and soak stain with glycerin. Flush well with water, feather out and dry.
Glue: Sponge with water, loosen with brush, flush with water, feather out and dry.
Iodine: Sponge with rubbing alcohol against blotter paper, feather out and dry. Mayonnaise: Apply starch/naptha paste, dry and brush off excess. Sponge and flush with naptha, feather out and dry.
Motor Oil, Tar: Apply starch/naptha paste, dry and brush off excess. Sponge and flush with naptha, feather out and dry.
Mustard: Apply dry starch, brush to remove excess. Apply glycerin for 30 minutes, flush well with water, feather out and dry.
Mud/Rust: Dry and brush off excess, sponge with water. Loosen with brush, flush with water, feather out and dry. Repeat with vinegar if necessary. Ink, Ballpoint: Rub white petroleum jelly into stain. Then soak in detergent solution and launder.
Tree Sap: Mix a small amount of ammonia with water and gently rub into the spot. After a spot has dried, have garment cleaned. Grass Stains: Rub detergent or pressure wash directly into stain. Clean promptly.
NOTES: Most chemicals listed above for spot removal are flammable and should be used in a well ventilated area free of any open flame. After treatment, air dry. Never dry in a tumble dryer.
All work should be done with a clean blotter underneath the stain area. Feathering out prevents ringing and is done by starting outside the stain area, and lightly brushing towards its center.
These care procedures are provided only as a service and should not be interpreted as a warranty, implied or otherwise.
Poly/Cotton and Poly/Rayon Permanent Press Garments:
• Machine wash garments in warm water (DO NOT USE BLEACH), tumble dry (on a permanent press setting), remove promptly. Hang up so that wrinkles will fall out. Touch up using a warm iron.
• Follow care instructions shown on every garment.
• For stains, spray a prewash on soiled area and then wash as instructed above.
• Dry clean periodically to sharpen creases.
• Do not use fabric softeners.
CARE OF ITEMS:
Follow care instructions indicated on the care label sewn in every garment.
NOTE: INSTRUCTIONS PROVIDED BY STETSON
FS229, FS239: 1. Never store your Stetson right side up on a flat surface. This could cause the brim to flatter. Store upside down on a clean surface or in a box.
FS229, FS239: 2. To remove surface dirt from a straw Stetson, wipe with a clean damp cloth. For a fur felt, use a soft brush starting at the left side of the hat and brushing counter-clockwise toward the back. Repeat.
FS229, FS239: 3. Because heat and perspiration will shrink the sweatband, avoid exposure to stoves, radiators, lamps and card windows.
FS229: 4. If your fur felt Stetson gets wet, turn down the leather sweatband and stand the hat on the sweatband to dry. Avoid resting the hat on its brim while wet.
FS229, FS239: 5. To keep sweatband dry of perspiration and hairdressings, occasionally turn down the sweatband to dry when not being worn.
FS229: 6. Clean water and grease spots on fur felt with baby powder or cornstarch. Avoid all liquid cleaners.
FS229, FS239: 7. Hold your Stetson at the brim, in front and back, when removing. Avoid handling the crown as much as possible.
WEAR LIFE:
100% cotton garments have approximately half the wear life of Polyester, and Poly blend garments. 100% Cotton garments are not acid resistant and color loss is accelerated.

Please try on your new garment to check the fit before laundering. We’re sorry but we cannot accept garments for return that have been personally altered, laundered, worn or otherwise made unsalable unless the garment is defective in workmanship or materials.
Please note any pants ordered with an inseam length of 28” or less are considered Special Cuts and are non-returnable.

1. Please return the item(s) in the same box you received them in.
2. Place the completed Returns Form, and a copy of your Packing List, in the box.
3. Pack items in such a way to ensure they are not lost or damaged in transit. Seal the box well.
4. Write the RMA number on the top of the carton along with your name and address.
