TENNESSEE YOUNG WRITERS’ WORKSHOP

“This Workshop meant a lot to me — I’ve always been shy, so I really express myself through writing.

“I’ve gained bravery to write about anything and a confidence in my writing which I have never possessed before.”

“The faculty and counselors were brilliant individuals who taught me that there is no such thing as writer’s block. Only the fear of mediocrity, and that I shouldn’t be afraid to share what I feel like I have to say.”

“What an amazing experience this event was for our readers.

Things like this just don’t happen for our students. The majority of them live in extreme poverty. This definitely could not have happened without the help of Humanities Tennessee. Our school has been struggling with literacy for quite some time, and I think events like this one will help tremendously.”
