About Me My name is Hugo. I’m a first year student at Nottingham Trent University studying BSC product design. I enjoy fulfilling hobbies such as Drumming, Herpetology, DIY and caring for exotic animals.

Aswell as being a designer, I want to be an inventor. This portfolio showcases some of my best work throughout my time at NTU. I have taken a profound intrest in both CAD and rendering and aim to improve my skills as i progress, allowing me to bring my ideas to life.

Clockwork Toy A space/rocket themed clockwork toy with expressive features and coloured viynl stickers “Create a vehicle themed clockwork toy made from HDPE. for children in the ages of 4 - 8”

Rubber wheels can be easily manufactured and clipped onto the product

Development

1-3 Positives

The rubber wheels fit close to the model and will reduce the likeleyhood of a child removing them

The model looks vibrant and attractive with orange accents

all the edges are smooth and reduce the chances of a child cutting themselves

Negatives

The “boosters” on the back of the model are not compatible with rotational The eyes molding and mouth are extruded cuts and cannot be seen The wings very clearly and fins are very thin and might be hard to mold. they could also break of easily

Conclusion The overall design and function fits the brief but some parts of the model are hard to mold and need to be thickened. The facial features should be stuck on with vinyl stickers instead of cut into the body

Taller bottle necks and rounded caps helps the bottles to stay attatched

Abbreviated product name on the logo is eye catching and memorable

Green and gold colour schemes shows luxury and natural aesthetics

Bottle caps twist inward to preserve a low tolerance fit when linking bottles

Gold Vinyl “N” sticker is simplistic and shows luxury, All stickers are easy to Tri-colour seperate for scheme and better translucent bottles makes the product look stylish yet simple
