DUKE ENERGY’S WIND FARMS Kristin John.

Located in Charlotte, North Carolina, Duke’s Energy has its energy assets not just in the USA but also in Canada and Southern America.

To introduce a bit, Duke’s Energy is responsible for producing 58,200 MW power in the USA. Duke’s Energy uses various sources of energy to produce electricity such as coal, natural gas, hydroelectricity or oil. While all these resources are without a doubt, not the best reliable sources, alternative energy sources were considered by Duke’s Energy as a source of producing electrical energy to its consumers. Duke’s energy relies on alternative energy sources such as Solar energy as well as Wind energy. Both the energy sources are promising and are everlasting because they are an inherent part of the world and will be there until the very last day of the earth.

As far as Wind farms go, Duke’s Energy owns a wind farm in Wisconsin which consists of 8 wind turbines. These wind turbines are the sole reason for producing electrical energy as they convert the oncoming wind into electrical energy. The wind turbines consist of a motor, gears, blades, and other various components to convert the mechanical energy, air, into electricity. As far as the wit turbines in Wisconsin go, they stand around 500 ft., tall enough to be the tallest wind turbines in the North America. Before being owned by Duke’s Energy, the wind farm was formed by Emerging Energies in 2011.

Recently in February 2017, Duke’s Energy latest wind farm project is open for operation as it created 200MW of energy using wind turbines in Oklahoma. This is Duke’s Energy first ever wind powered energy in the state of Oklahoma.

The wind farm did create a stirring among the residents as they filed come’s plants against the operation for causing noise due to the stemming caused by the wind turbines. This caused a series of events later to come as a lot of studies were done to analyze the impact of the noise and its effects around. In 2012, the families who suffered the effects were immediately ordered to be given aids as per orders by the Brown County of Health Board. Our ecosystem is composed of animals and wildlife. Wildlife plays a vital role in maintaining the balance between ecosystem and humanity. There are many countries with beautiful wildlife around the world, including the dense green forests and luscious greenery and tropical trees which are way more fascinating and also the different species of wild animals and endangered species in their natural habitat. Apart from this lovely scenario, there's hidden a big black mark which refers to the extinction of animals and its species and thereby devastating the wildlife. Animals are in danger, around the entire world. Animals are calling for help; they need aid and severe help to save their lives and protect from cruelty and human activities.

Animals are threatened by human's ruthless activities, during oil spills and other human-made and natural disasters. In real terms, "Humans are the real life animals in the world." The oil spill caused an increase in wildlife harmed by pollution, but there was another major issue at hand: what cleaning solution can remove oil from the animals without damaging their skin? During oiled wildlife in 2012, Dawn’s dish soap is the preferred cleaner among Gulf spill animal rescue specialist. The issue caused by the oil spill caused a significant boost in need for Dawn’s soap; Dawn donated 50,000 bottles of dish soap to be mixed with water to create a solution that quickly and safely washed the oil out of the animals’ feathers and fur without harming their skin.

The research draws attention to the impact that the Dawn campaign had after the BP oil spill that led to 5,000 gallons of oil a day to spill into the Gulf of Mexico leaving the waters polluted and animals covered in oil. Dawn was able to raise over $500,000 and save tens of thousands of animals during the BP Oil spill.

To help protect the wildlife, the first need is to spread awareness among the society by educating people on how to clean birds and other wildlife animals with Dawn Saves. dish soap. Looking at the facts, deforestation is the principal cause of extinction of animals and wildlife. Oil spills are leading to homelessness of animals. Looking into the severe problems and condition of wildlife and animals there is a high need of the wildlife conservation and protection of animals.

There was a researcher made by Alice Berkner famous in the early 1970s; he is a retired founder of the International Bird Rescue and a pioneer in the cleaning of oil-slicked birds: daily dishwashing soap gently but effectively removes oil from affected feathers and skin.

The Purple Heart Foundation strives to make the transition home as smooth as possible for all veterans, which includes providing them the treatment they need for the challenges they face after being discharged. The Purple Heart Foundation is a nonprofit, Veteran Service Organization whose mission is to honor the sacrifice of military veterans and create a smooth transition for them from the battlefield to the home front.

Hunger. One of the world’s problems that doesn’t seem to be getting fixed any time soon.

What’s going on in the United States among kids is shocking, though.

And the average American is rarely aware of the statistics. But for change to be made, we need to know the facts, show that we care, and do something together. Only this way can we be heard and make a difference.

So, let’s get to the point.

What are the numbers?

13 million children live in food-insecure households - meaning, the family doesn’t have the means to provide enough nutritious foods to all members; in 2015, members of 6.3 million households experienced hunger at in 2014, 422,000 families shared that their kids were hungry (considering the fact that the adults were the first ones to skip meals when the resources weren’t enough); 15.7 million children in the US live in poverty; 10.5 million of all the kids allowed to be receiving free meals at school, or at least some type of discounts, don’t get it; 6 out of 7 eligible children don’t get their free meals in the summer.

The numbers are scary. And all that is happening although charitable food assistance is taking place: • Feeding America served 12 million kids.

• SNAP (food stamps) managed to help 8.9 million households with kids back in 2010; • The National School Lunch Program tries to feed around 20 million children on a school day; • There are food pantries and soup kitchens for emergency, but these are only a short-term solution.

What are the numbers?

The main reasons are 2. Let’s look at each one separately.

Poverty.

According to the U.S. Census Bureau’s 2015 estimates, the poverty rate in America is 13,5 percent.

This means that 43 million people lived in poverty that year.

Back in 2010 the number of poor people was 46.2 millions, and that was the highest one since 1956 - the first time any estimates were published.

And because this number is getting bigger each year, that affects the whole nation in many ways.

Poor households means unhappy parents and hungry kids. When talking about babies and infants, that might mean slow development.

Kids struggling with hunger get sick more often too as their immune system isn’t strong enough. The recovery process takes a lot longer too.

They are more prone to all types of diseases and conditions, both in their childhood, and as adults.

The children of food-insecure households who have to skip a meal because their parents can’t afford it can rarely do well at school, as they lack the focus, energy and desire. It affects their social life too, as they might have problems forming relationships or fitting in.

Some kids living in poverty also show aggression.

Unemployment.

The second biggest factor contributing to the rising number of hungry USA kids is unemployment.

Recently, America faced the lowest jobless rate since 2007.

There are now 7,202,000 unemployed Americans. Most of which parents who can’t provide for their family.

Although the lack of money and resources is the most obvious outcome, there are other side effects unemployment leads to that also influence kids, and the United States in general.

Adults who are unemployed are usually depressed. The fact that contributes to this depression is that the longer you don’t have a job, the harder it is to find one. Such people often lose hope, stop having dreams and ambitions, and make those around them miserable too.

People who lose their job (which can happen due to a number of reasons) and can’t immediately find a new one, have troubles sleeping, are anxious and moody, constantly worry about money and making ends meet, ruin their relationships, and aren’t the parents they are supposed to be anymore.

That in turn affects the next generation.

The ‘why’ behind every big problem in today’s world must be analyzed so that the right measures can be taken.

equip bystanders in communities across the country with life-changing resources and information that will help to foster conversations about what a healthy relationship looks like and guide them to get the help they need.

There are endless resources available through the National Domestic Violence Hotline for those of you struggling with domestic violence stealing the peace from your home or of those you love.

The site defines how to get help, what is actual abuse, what healthy relationships look like, resources for victims and survivors, FAQS about things like getting a firearm or how to get involved with law enforcement.

This foundation truly cares and wants to see domestic violence completely abolished. They want to Pass the Peace from home to home, city to city.

Just like Wilson said, we can change the world by changing the one in front of us.

Fans everywhere count down to the first pre-season game. Players all around the league are training hard with dreams of bringing their city to a Super Bowl Championship. There is one well-known quarterback that is famous for his phrase “No Time To Sleep.” He is a hard worker on and off the field and some call him DANGERUSS…but many know him as Russell Wilson.

Wilson started the Why Not You Foundation. The Why Not You Foundation was established to empower change in the world, one individual and one child at a time. Wilson launched the Why Not You Foundation in 2014. The goal of this foundation is to create change that will be real and lasting by empowering our youth of today to become tomorrow’s leaders. His father who is now in Heaven inspired Wilson. His father challenged him daily with a “why not you” attitude.

The foundation works with many different charities, including the Seattle Children’s hospital where Wilson and wife Ciara are passionate advocates for Strong Against Cancer. Another big goal they have is to decrease or demolish all together domestic violence, so they have teamed up with the Domestic Violence Hotline to Pass the Peace.

On average there are 20 people per minute that are abused in the United States. During just one year this equates to more than 10 million women and men, not to mention the children who may be witnessing or victim to the abuse. Wilson and the Why Not You Foundation have partnered with the Hotline to Pass the Peace and so can you. Pass the Peace is more than just a campaign it’s a movement to end domestic violence all together. The goal is to

HOW TIME MANAGEMENT AFFECTS EVERY OTHER ASPECT OF YOUR LIFE Lidiya K.

The average person is always busy, yet he hasn’t achieved much in the end of the day and can’t say he feels satisfied.

At the same time, there are people who manage to get a lot done in just a few hours daily, to keep their energy high till the evening, to work on side projects and see progress in different areas of their life.

Such individuals are productive, effective, don’t waste time doing things that don’t make them happy or get them closer to their goals, and usually manage to keep their finance, health and relationships on track while starting and running a business.

The difference between these two types of people is their time management skills.

The former, never sat down to analyze how they spent their time.

Because if they had done that, they would have realized there are plenty of unproductive activities in their week that can be removed, leaving them more time to focus on what works and gives results.

In addition, there are the tens of lazy habits that prevent them from focusing, that slow down their mind and lead to working longer hours and still not completing tasks properly.

Then, there’s the lack of mindfulness.

Such people often live in the past or present, constantly worrying about the next thing on their list, and not being able to pay their whole attention to the one activity they should be concentrating on right now.

That’s an awful way of life and it goes together with procrastination, making excuses, avoiding change, etc.

The other type of people I mentioned, however, do things differently.

For a start, they know that time is our most precious possession and once a moment is gone, we can’t take it back. This realization is something they keep in mind all the time and which helps them make the most of every day.

Taking Time Management More Seriously If you feel like there’s more you can get out of every hour you spend working, if you find your mind wandering for a long time instead of focusing on the task in front of you, and if you constantly say you’re busy and don’t have time for family or hobbies, then your system is wrong.

Luckily, time management is a skill. And skills can be developed over time.

Start by taking the decision to do something about this. Take it seriously by understanding how it affects your whole life.

Do a research on the time management hacks some smart people have shared online, so that you can see there are easy ways to save time, work less and still get more done, organize your day effectively, never be late, trick your mind into being more productive, etc.

Where to Begin?

The first step is seeing the big picture and noticing what you’re currently doing wrong. That’s what you’ll be changing over the next few weeks.

So set aside 10 minutes for the next 3 or so days to write down anything you do. Include every little detail.

After that, analyze the results. Take a closer look at what you’re doing with your time and think how it can be optimized.

For each activity, ask yourself if it’s necessary at all. If it is, see how you can invest less time but more focus in it.

You might notice that some morning habits, for instance, slow you down for the whole day. So you might perform them in the evening.

Or that doing your work in the first part of the day is much smarter and lets you have more time for yourself in the evening.

By doing this one exercise over the course of 3 days, you’ll be able to shave at least a few hours off your week.
