Founders

Home. Over the last two years, it is undeniable that our sense of home has evolved. At its best, it’s a place of safety and refuge, where we’ve allowed only our most-loved and trusted companions. A place for our most comforting habits and clothes, whether ours or “borrowed” from a loved one.

We approached this collection with the intimacy of home in mind, curating a collection of warm, cable-filled knits made for everyone to cherish.

We photographed these designs at Meghan’s new home in the Hudson Valley, accompanied by some of our dearest friends and family, two-and four-legged alike, both on camera and behind the scenes.

Captured on a fridged winter day in early January, our Deep Winter 2022 collection features three gender-neutral sweater designs, worn by both Laura and Brendan, as well as a comforting womenswear pullover, and accessories made to wrap up in this winter and the winters to come.

Made in our soft, durable, forever yarns, Forge + Weld, you’ll find designs by Cheryl Toy, Yiğitcan Vatansever, Susanna IC, Natalya Berezynska, and Rachel Brockman, as well as contributions from both of us.

We hope you find comfort and knits in this collection to love forever and share with the ones you love most.

Olympia Everyone who’s worn Olympia by Cheryl Toy hasn’t wanted to take it off. Covered in modern, twisting cables featuring a grand double-breasted shawl collar this cardigan is love at first sight and wear.

Constructed in pieces from the bottom up, the cables flow seamlessly from the 2x2 ribbing and the lush collar is picked up horizontally and worked back and forth after seaming. Find the perfect buttons for this handsome cardigan and guard your sweater bin or else it’s sure to be “borrowed” regularly.

Sloane Rosenthal

Ward Cast on your newest favorite sweater,Ward by co-founder Sloane Rosenthal. This cozy pullover sports an extra squishy central garter stitch panel flanked by cables, and cozy Andulusian stitch on the sides and arms. Finish with your choice of neckline — crew, turtleneck, or (as shown) a foldover funnel that blocks the wind without being restrictive. This pullover is made from the bottom up in pieces and seamed, then the sleeves are picked up at the armholes and worked from the top down.

Cord Classic, comforting, and handsome—Cord by co-founder Meghan Babin is a signature cabled raglan designed with everyone in mind. The braided cable + slipped garter rib motif flows seamlessly from the 2x2 ribbing with selvedge details enhancing the design. This gender-neutral sweater is made from the bottom up in pieces and seamed. The foldover 1x1 collar is picked up and worked in the round and then seamed down for a sturdy and comfortable sweater made to last and cherish forever.

Susanna IC

Drift Drift by Susanna IC is inspired by windswept snowdrifts creating snaking patterns in new snow. The twisting cables and garter stitch captures the textural and barren beauty of winter, bringing with it warmth and comfort. This shawl is worked from the top down and features a low-contrast color border, evoking the shifting colors of short winter days.

Range Yiğitcan Vatansever

Yiğitcan Vatansever

Range Range by Yiğitcan Vatansever is one of those sweaters—the kind that you live your life in, the kind that becomes your second skin and lives on the top of your sweater chest (if it even makes it back!). This beautifully conceived design is inspired by snow covered mountain ranges, featuring panels of mountain peak motifs on the hem and up the sleeves created with slipped traveling stitches. This gender-neutral raglan is worked in the round from the bottom up seamlessly, the turtleneck is picked up and worked in the round with an optional tubular bind off.

Shulin by Rachel Brockman is the crowd pleasing winter accessory that is sure be in regular rotation throughout the winter and many winters to come. This smock stitch cable and textured scarf is worked lengthwise and finished with optional fringe (which we think really makes it). Whether worn long or wrapped several times, this scarf is an eye catching winter staple.

Red Hook by co-founder Meghan Babin is a densely cabled beanie made to block the coldest winter winds. Featuring antler and braided cables worked in rapid succession for a toasty textural fabric ideal for chilly dog walks, winter hikes, and daily errands. Made from the bottom up from an optional tubular cast on, the cables flow out of the 1x1 folded rib brim and cleverly decrease away into the crown.
