Founders

Happy Spring! We all need more than a little hope and light right now. There are few places to escape the world’s turmoil, but we hope that this collection can provide solace and fulfillment during this period of uncertainty.

We were lucky enough to capture this collection in Northern California, in the Redwoods and by the ocean, with our dear friends from Harper Point Photography. It was such a pleasure to curate this collection, featuring staple favorites of texture, cables, and even a bit of colorwork with a little help from our indie designer friends Emily Greene, Mary Anne Benedetto, Kirsten Kapur, Jen Peck, Lana Jois, Vicky Hsu, and Cheryl Toy. We leaned heavily on our springy little Weld in both garments and accessories, but there are a few hardy knits in Forge to keep you toasty and warm as we transition from winter to cool spring days.

In these pages, find our Spring 2020 collection divided into two quintessentially NorCal stories — Part I: The Redwoods and Part II: The Coast — and let yourself be transported to a more peaceful place and time.

Treeline Treeline by Vicky Hsu is inspired by the verdant, lush Redwood forests in coastal Northern California. This hat is made in our lightweight Weld, and features a fun cable technique to create the “treeline� motif around the body of the hat.

Kirsten Kapur

Redwood Redwood is the perfect accessory for all-season cable lovers.

Watch your cables grow like roots from the corner to the squishy welted border. This gorgeous shawl is worked from the three-stitch cast on and features striking cables that naturally grow from the ribbing.

The cable motifs are worked from charts. The shawl is finished with 70s-style tassels.

Meghan Babin

Soquel Soquel by Meghan Babin is a handsome and comfortable henley-style pullover equally at home in an office or hiking through the woods. Featuring fully-fashioned shoulder tailoring and a modern, interlocking cable motif, this sweater is made for the modern man (or woman).

Soquel is worked from the bottom up from a optional tubular cast ons and finsihed with tubular bind offs for a polished look.

Lomond Campfire nights, hikes through the woods, and lounging at home on the weekends. Lomond is all about the life we want to live outside of the 9-5 grind. This no-fuss top-down circular yoke sweater uses three contrasting colors of Weld for a simple, geometric, and laid back project. Gently oversized, Lomond is drafted with easy-to-wear A-line increases through the body, which can be easily omitted for a straighter fit.

Felton Felton by Sloane Rosenthal is the long cable-and-texture cardigan made for three-season wear. The soothing expanses of moss stitch are broken by Sloane’s signature cables, which flow seamlessly from the ribbing. The central back panel is mimicked on the front bands of this open cardigan.

This cardigan is worked from the bottom up with optional tubular cast ons for the hem and cuffs. The full-fashioned shoulder tailoring adds polish and a ready-to-wear finish to this luscious and ultra-wearable cardigan.

Fall Creek Fall Creek is a genderless design; Emily used the ASTM standards of measurement for men, so carefully assess the schematic before deciding on a size. This cardigan is meant to be worn with 2-4� of positive ease, as shown on Del, but Britt is wearing it at 8� [20.25 cm] of positive ease and we love it with a cozy, gently oversized vibe, too!

Lana Jois

Bridge Street Bridge Street by Lana Jois, is the urban-chic, updated shawl of yester-year. With a dramatic wingspan, stunning interlocking cables, and architectural lines this is a shawl-scarf-wrap is appealing across generations. Bridge Street is worked end-to-end, starting with one stitch and finishing with the grandly cabled border.

This version of Bridge Street features our fingering weight, Weld. The original Bridge Street made in Forge from our A/W 2019 collection was such a hit we had to have one in Weld, too!

Beechwood Beechwood by Meghan Babin is a cozy, lightweight fingerless mitt set with “cut off � fingers. exposing on the finger tips, these slouchy mitts are ideal for when the weather shifts from cold to chilly. The long, scrunchable gauntlets are meant to keep your forearms comfortable with spring jacket or shirt.
