Eight million disposable coffee cups are thrown away every day in the UK. Until recently that was seen as almost inevitable, but public attitudes have changed - and so have the recycling possibilities.
In 2017 Hubbub created a unique collaboration of 36 businesses, retailers and offices who became the first to pilot a campaign encouraging the recycling of disposable coffee cups in public spaces and workspaces - the Square Mile Challenge campaign. In it's first year the Square Mile Challenge successfully recycled four million cups in the City of London.
Using our learnings from the Square Mile Challenge, we've created a free 'how to' guide for disposable paper and coffee cup recycling, aimed at businesses that want to recycle on-site: from large offices to restaurants and shops.
