Right Thorax

PE 4 subcutaneous soft and well circumscribed masses: 1x Right Thorax (2cm) | 1x Right Hind Limb (3cm) | Left Thorax (1cm) | Tail (1cm)

DX Cytology: Right Thorax, Left Thorax, Tail: Lipomas

Right Hind Limb: Soft Tissue Sarcoma

OUTCOME

The mass on the Right Hind Limb was removed with clean margins No further treatment needed

HX & CC

A new mass on left front limb. Cookie’s owner declined further investigation with FNA, initially and o ted to ‘wait and see’.

HEAT DIFFUSION IMAGING (HDI) SCAN

PE On al ation, a soft and mobile dermal mass on the left front limb. Owner agreed for an HT Vista scan.

Moderate Cancer Risk: 25%

DX Cytology: MCT.

CT: No involvement of surrounding tissues.

Histopathology (following excision): LowGrade MCT; Cle n m rgins.

OUTCOME

Cookie recovered well from her mass excision surgery and was discharged home with no further treatment.

HX & CC A growing mass on the Right Caudal Elbow. Due to the location of the mass and budget constrains the owner was reluctant to agree to further tests, initially

PE On palpation, a firm mass on Right Caudal Elbow (9x5cm)- owner agreed for an HT Vista scan.

DX Cytology: Non-Diagnostic. Extended DX:

CT: Evidence of a soft tissue mass with no evidence of adjacent tissue invasion.

Histopathology (following excision): Soft Tissue Sarcoma

OUTCOME

Thomas was discharged home following his mass excision surgery and was prescribed with radiation therapy.
