DESIGN AND STYLE: White vs Warm For quite some time, designers and homeowners have fallen in love with the infamous all-white kitchen. I have to admit that a few years ago, I fell quickly into that same category and "refreshed" my own kitchen following suit by starting with painting my cabinets white, installing a creamy white subway tile backsplash, and gorgeous white quartz countertops complimented by some gold accents.

Fast forward to the last few months and here we are with everyone still loving the simplicity and look of their white kitchen, but quickly wondering how to warm the room up a bit and make it more inviting for friends and family to gather.

I think the golden answer is simple “wood” (saw how I did that there). Yes, you heard me…Wood. I have found that Designers, Stagers, and Homeowners

alike are sprinkling in those wood accent pieces or wood tones to soften the look and create the warm aesthetic we all have fallen for!

I have seen some beautiful ideas and thought I would share a few of my favorite inspiration photos that show just how our industry is handling this. If you notice in these pictures wood accents are used top to bottom without overshadowing the cleanliness of the favored white.

Whether you are using wood floors, beams, cutting boards, fruit bowls, barstools or a stand-alone cabinet or island these kitchens do it well. These kitchens are a prime example of how we can marry white with wood and make a statement.

ELEVATE YOUR PHOTOS It is safe to say that the details in life make it special. This is especially true when it comes to marketing!

Take a look at a TikTok you really enjoy; or a website that you admire. What makes it so appealing? It can all be traced back to the details. In order to make your business stand out, what personal touches have you sprinkled in?

If you are looking to refresh you may take a look at your social media feed. Do you have an imbalance of warm and cool-toned photos? Are the images sharp and captured with sufficient lightning? Not only should you have crisp images

and good lighting, but purchasing some presets will elevate your overall aesthetic as well as the flow of your social media account. Take a look at these examples below. What a difference some attention to detail can make!

Adobe Lightroom is a versatile editing application that can be downloaded for both Android and iOS devices. Presets cost money, but the app download itself is free of charge. There is an option to pay $9.99 monthly for some additional features however, this isn't necessary. You can search for 'Lightroom Mobile Presets' on Etsy to find a range of presets to match your desired style. Keep in mind, that once the presets are applied you can always adjust the photo to personalize it a little more.

The presets vary in price, typically costing around $5-$30, but they are forever yours. I personally have this app downloaded onto my iPhone as well as my MacBook - it's really easy to use on either device. Depending on if you use an iOS device or android, I have a quick tutorial to follow to help get you started. Simple click here for iOS or Android.
