Oktoberfest at Soboba Casino Resort

eer flowed, music played, and guests enjoyed an unforgettable evening at Soboba Casino Resort’s first Oktoberfest celebration on October 5. More than 1,000 visitors had the opportunity to sample 36 different types of draft beers and authentic German cuisine at food stations offering an array of sweet desserts, savory meats and sauerkraut laden dishes. Special sauces were ordered for this event and all gingerbread hearts at the dessert station were made specifically for the occasion. Each corner of the Event Center offered a distinct focus: Schnapps, café, wine and souvenirs. Seating was traditional Oktoberfest style of long tables with about 20 chairs each. “In true German style, nobody ever needs to dine alone – tables are shared between family, friends and strangers alike,” said German-native Victor Mortazavi, SCR’s Food and Beverage Director. n Tuesday, October 8th, at about 2AM, City of Hemet Police Officers responded to reports of shots fired in the 2400 block of W Oakland Ave, Hemet. Officers located Ricardo Curiel, a 31-year old male, suffering from a gunshot wound to his torso. Family members were surrounding the victim. Ricardo was transported to Riverside University Health System where he succumbed to his injuries. The City of Hemet Police

n Saturday, October 5th, at approximately 12:45AM, City of Hemet Police officers responded to 5 shots fired at the Travelodge motel located in the 2600 block of W Florida Ave, Hemet. Hemet Police Officers located a male gunshot victim. Though AMR medics responded as quickly as police could clear the area, victim Nathaniel “Nate D” Houston was pronounced dead at the scene of the crime.
