COMMUNITY BRIEFS MOMENTS IN TIME

ig changes are coming to the San Jacinto Unified School District soon. The District is planning on moving Monte Vista Middle School to a new site with brand new buildings. Where Monte Vista is now is a really old lot, it was the original San Jacinto High School way back in the day and became Monte Vista in the '70s. The District wants to do everything in its power to keep the name Monte Vista Middle School when the new campus starts. Talks have circled around The District of building this new middle school since 2012 and the construction company just broke ground this past June. Construction is estimated to last three years.

The District has put so much thought into what a brand new campus needs for the kids in the community. They have included; multiple common areas, an outdoor amphitheater, a huge multipurpose room that is separate from the gym, and a large sports field. The school is expected to cost around 55 million dollars which include furnishing and equipment (paid for by Measure Y). The Architects behind the design of the school are HMC architects out of Ontario, California. They are one of the go-to companies for design. They are created for building state of the art medical facilities and schools all across California.
