CELEBRATE OLDER AMERICANS MONTH AT THE AGE WELL CENTERS

May is Older Americans Month and the Age Well Centers of Fremont will be filled with great energy. Older Americans Month beckons with a tapestry of vibrant events, fostering connection, laughter, and cherished memories. Throughout May, adults age 55+ are invited to join in Age Well Center Spirit Days and special events.

Spirit Days infuse the Age Well Centers with color and camaraderie as adults 55+ wear their most spirited attire, embracing themes that evoke nostalgia, fun, and cultural pride. Each spirit day becomes a canvas for self-expression and community bonding. Special lunches serve as a culinary journey, tantalizing taste buds, and nurturing friendships.

At the Age Well Centers, Older Americans Month isn’t just a celebration—it’s a joyful affirmation of the indomitable spirit that defines its age 55+ population. Join us and celebrate this special month! To learn more about Older American Month celebrations, contact the Age Well Centers at 510-790-6600 or 510-742-7540.

WE VOLUNTEERS

After more than 21 years of dedicated service, Art and Irene Murphy bid farewell to their volunteer roles at the Age Well Center at Lake Elizabeth. The couple has been the backbone of the center’s grocery rescue program, tirelessly picking up grocery donations from local stores and redistributing them at the Age Well Center at Lake Elizabeth to seniors in need. Their commitment to this cause has not only provided sustenance but has also fostered a sense of community and care among the senior citizens they served.

Although the Murphys’ retirement from volunteering marks the end of an era at the Age Well Center, their legacy of kindness and generosity will continue to resonate within the community for years to come. As they bid farewell to their roles, the Murphys’ unwavering dedication leaves behind a lasting impact and a reminder of the power of volunteerism in making a difference one person at a time.

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to Art and Irene Murphy for their over two decades of service and wish them a well-deserved and joyful retirement. Their contributions will be remembered and cherished by all who have had the privilege of knowing them.
